Chapter 9: Getting Along

Steph: Took you guys long enough.

Duo: ::gasping for breath:: We ... ran into ... a ... little trouble.

Suboshi: ::also gasping for breath:: Stupid ... technology.

Steph: Never mind. I don't want to know.

Steph takes the goods the two managed to book with and snaps her fingers. Fixing the Temple and incorporating the goods into the odd luck driven whole in under a nanosecond.

Later ... Duo and Suboshi play cards. Both are cheating. Duo pulls aces out of his sleeves and Suboshi steals them from Duo's pockets. Duo smiles and lays down some cards.

Duo: Gin!

Suboshi also lays down some cards.

Suboshi: 21!

Duo: ::crowing:: Go Fish!

Suboshi: ::muttering:: Fishing, fishing.

Suboshi goes fish. Odd game, neh? They made it up. Just like they made up the Twirly Game. A game they play by swinging and seesawing on the ends of Suboshi's ryuuseisui. First their worst enemies, now their best friends (Ifni's Hand, I see it now). They do everything together. Of course, now that there's some actual peace in the Temple, something's gonna happen. And just as they finish their game something does happen. Steph walks in with two people who are looking all around.

Steph: Duo, Suboshi. Meet Zelgadis and Xellos, my new bishounen.

Zel: Hi.

Xel: A pleasure to meet your imminent acquaintance. ^_^

Zel: Fruitcake.

Xel: Yes. ^_^

Duo and Suboshi exchange looks.

Duo & Suboshi: ::in unison:: Oh boy.
