Gourry and Zelgadis just sat there, letting the women argue. They glanced at one another, then sighed and stared at the table. It was going to be a long evening.

"I'll do what I want, you little -- "

"Little?!? Lina-san, you're being cruel!"

Was it just him or was it getting harder and harder to keep his eyes open? Zel yawned and leaned back.

"But you can't just do that! It's unjust!"

"Look, they aren't good people, Amelia. In fact, they're evil, unjust thieves of the common folk, who deserve to be punished. So we'll punish them by taking their treasures."

Gourry pushed back his shoulder guards as he yawned too. A moment later and Zelgadis had unclasped his cape and set it to the side, leaning on the table and resting his head in his arms. The swordsman glanced at the drifting Zel and pulled him back by his shoulders. Startled eyes looked over at him.

"Yes, but -- "

"But nothing, stealing from the evil isn't really stealing, it's -- it's redistributing their ill gotten gain to those in need!"

He tugged the startled chimera into his arms, giving him a shoulder to lean on. Cold sapphires stared in a kind of wonder as Gourry grinned blithely and slid a arm around Zel's waist.

"Lina-san! It's not like that at all!"

"Says who?!"

The chimera blinked, considering the implications, before giving a mini shrug and one of his patented smiles, resting his cheek on Gourry's shoulder. His eyes drifted close and the swordsman smiled wider.

"Says -- says -- says the light of justice!"

"Amelia ... "

Gourry carefully laid his head on Zel's, cheek resting comfortably in the sharp strands and closed his eyes as well, pulling the chimera just a little closer.

"I'll prove I'm right! Stealing is wrong, right Gourry-san?!"

"Wrong, stealing from thieves is not stealing, right Zel?!"

"Gourry-san?"

"Zel?"

The two shifted a little, snuggling, hands clasped.
