Part 2

Nadia poked at a sleeping Lisa with her sword (sheathed, of course). No response. She poked at sleeping Lisa again. No response. She poked at sleeping Lisa again. WHAM! Nadia reeled to the floor.

"Ouch." She wasn't crazy about being hit on the head with her own sword. She looked back up at the bed. And, Lisa was still asleep. Nadia scooted back against the wall and glared at the peaceful looking girl. "Wake up or die!" She demanded. Lisa continued to sleep. There was a knock at the door. "Who is it?" Nadia called out.

"It's me, Val."

"Come in." She said, still glaring at Lisa. Val opened the door and stepped in. He looked at Nadia glaring at Lisa. Who was sleeping.

"What's wrong?" He asked quizzically.

"She refuses to wake up."

"Really?" Val said, getting a slightly amused look on his face. He walked over to Lisa and touched her shoulder. "It's time to wake up."

"Huh? What are you doing in my room!?" Lisa asked, brushing Val's hand off of her shoulder.

"I am planning an evil attack." Val joked. Lisa looked at him like she didn't believe him. "Actually, I am being serious. We have to leave."

"No more time in the pretty castle?" Lisa whimpered.

"I don't think Sean can make peace with his father right now, and I'd like to take him with us until he can."

"Take him with us." Nadia said skeptically. "As in, spend more time with Sean the moron." She had been feeling sorry for him over the past few days, but not that sorry!

"Yes." Val said, staring at her. That seemed to intimidate her a little. She shrugged and looked down at the floorboards.

"So where is he now?" Lisa looked up at Val.

"He's wherever his parents aren't."

"That's specific."

Sean opened the door to the royal study carefully, and checked inside. Only his mother. Good. He stepped inside quietly and closed the door softly behind him.

"Mother?" Sean asked. Ameria looked up from a document she was studying, surprised.

"Sean? What's going on?"

"I - " Sean thought, trying to carefully pick the right words. This was something he wasn't used to. He wanted to tell his mother he was leaving this time, though. "I am going to continue traveling with my friends."

"Wh-when are you leaving?"

"This morning."

"Oh. Well, be careful." She said, giving him a weak smile. "I'm glad you told me this time." Be careful? Sean thought. That was it?

"Okay. Bye." He walked out the door.

"Come on, we're leaving. Now." Sean said, grabbing Val's arm and walking towards the nearest exit.

Sean looked much happier and more relieved the moment the group stepped out of the city of Saillune. Nadia decided to perform a little experiment. She tapped Sean on his shoulder. "Don't touch me!" He said, whirling around and glaring at Nadia. "You idiot! What the Hell do you think you're doing, anyway!?"

"Just seeing if you were back to your egotistical pigheaded maniacal self. I see you are." Nadia smiled.

"Describing yourself again, Nadia?"

"Describing myself!? What a poor comeback!" She laughed.

"Better than you can think up!" He glared at her.

"How could an idiot ever defeat me in any immature argument?" Nadia grinned. Val put his arm across Lisa's shoulder.

"I see things are back to normal." He grinned. Lisa brushed Val's arm off of her shoulder.

"Ain't it great?" She giggled.

The group was happily walking along. Scans area and sees group surrounded by lessar demons. Sweatdrop Well, the group had been happily walking along. "Lessar demons!?" Lisa cried. "This is ridiculous!"

"These are lessar demons?" Nadia said, staring curiously at the huge beasts surrounding them.

"Yes, you idiot!" Sean cried. He was frightened.

"Well, excuse me for never seeing one before!" Nadia glared at Sean.

"Glare at the demons, not at Sean, Nadia." Val said unhappily. Arrows wouldn't do the trick in this case. He began work on a shield spell. It worked, until a demon swatted it. Then it flickered out of existence. It did succeed in throwing the demon back several yards. It also succeeded in getting the demon in question angrier. "Damn."

"How does one kill a demon, if I may ask?" Nadia asked, singling out a demon and grinning sadistically at it.

"Any strong spell attack will do." Lisa said, thinking about which strong spell attack in particular she should attempt.

Lisa settled on a Fireball. It just phased them. She frowned. "Nadia, cover me. I'm breaking out of the circle. Does everyone here know how to raywing?" Everybody responded to the affirmative. "Okay. Raywing out before I finish the spell." Lisa concentrated on a levitation spell. After a moment, she lifted up off of the ground, and over to a tall tree. Nadia kept her eye on Lisa as she began her spell.

"Darkness beyond twilight" Lisa started. Nadia threw a flare arrow at a demon that was getting a little too close. She hadn't heard this one before.

"Crimson beyond blood that flows" Lisa continued. Sean nearly facefaulted. He would have, had he not been to busy swinging his sword at a couple demons. This was the Dorag Slabe! He decided to get out. Now.

"Buried in the flow of time" Nadia noticed Sean raywing out. She tapped Val on the shoulder. He quickly transformed and they followed Sean out.

"In thy name I pledge myself to darkness." Sean chose that moment to lose his raywing spell. Nadia held out her arms, which he dropped into.

"Let go of me!" He yelped.

"You want to be dropped there?" Nadia asked indicating the frustrated demons below. "You're crazier than I thought. But, okay."

"No!" Sean said, grabbing onto Nadia's shoulders. Nadia grinned.

"Let those fools who oppose us be destroyed by the power you and I possess. Dorag Slabe!" Dorag Slabe!? Nadia gasped. She nearly dropped Sean into the explosion. After it was over she did drop Sean. He yelped as he hurtled towards the ground.

"Raywing! Raywing! Raywing! Raywing damn-it! RAYWING!!!" At the last second he got it, and slowed himself down enough so that the fall didn't bust any vital organs. "You freak!" He yelled, shaking a fist at Nadia. She wasn't paying any attention, though. She just was flying over to where Lisa was.

"Awesome, Lisa-san!" Nadia said, lighting into the tree. Lisa grinned weakly.

"I'm still not teaching it to you." She said, sticking her tongue out at Nadia in defiance. Nadia smiled.

"Why do you think they were here?" Val asked Lisa, finishing his transformation back to humanoid as Sean watched, awed. He had been in complete amazement at Val's dragon form ever since he got over the horror of Nadia catching him, and then hurtling several hundred feet to the ground (in his eyes).

"To get rid of Nadia? Doesn't everybody want to?"

"I think it is just the opposite person." Nadia said calmly, without skipping a beat. Sean flinched.

"Lesser Demons do their own killing and destruction when their masters aren't watching a lot of the time." Lisa informed her friends.

"I suppose they might have to. It would keep them in shape."

"Thank you for the morbid ideas, Nadia." Sean grimaced.

Nadia grinned at Sean. "Any day!"
