Swift fell the sun on that sultry day,
  Equally
  Swift fell my heart.
  Gazing so deep in those
  Capturing eyes,
Lost within them for all time
  Should not be
  Must not be
  So, but
  Could not be
  Stopped
  His eyes,
  My eyes,
  Hide
  No more
  My love
  No more denying...
  Heat of the late
  Afternoon
  He seems not to Feel.
  Does he?
  The heat?
  My heart?
  Impossible.
  He cannot, this I
  Know.
  Certainty
  Is lacking;
  How can I
  Ever fully trust
  Eyes which have deceived
  So many without lies
  Only with
  Warped truth?
  Does it even
  Matter?
  Ultimately
  We all lie;
  To ourselves,
  To others,
  To the world,
  Why bother to tell the
  Truth?
  Decisions:
  To betray them
  All?
  To betray
  Myself?
  To betray my
  Heart?
  To betray
  Him?
  I cannot.
  He reaches out
And I see there the impossible
  Truth
  In his eyes;
  Reflected in the
  Darkness...
  He does,
  I must...
  It must be him.
  My heart must have
  It's twin.
"Let them all burn" he says
  And I cannot
  Disagree...
  Forgive me...
  I love.
