Foreword

Disclaimer

The following is a complete work of fiction with certain elements pertaining to a well-known anime entitled the Slayers. This story was not created for the purpose of self-gain; its purpose is purely entertainment for the reader and author. All characters from the actual anime to be included are Lina Inverse, Zelgadis Greywers, Gourry Gabriev, Amelia Wil Tesla Saillune, Xellos, Naga, Silphiel Nels Rada, and possibly Filia Ul Copt. All such characters are property of their creators (Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi).

Any instances in this story that may mirror real life are merely coincidence, allegory, satire, or a historical reference made to add life to the story.

copyrighted characters and elements to the story

Characters of my own creation in the following story include high-Captain Jenica Leanola Curuthers, Jokcharma Curuthers, Tarisna Curuthers, Sheila Curuthers, Crystaline Curuthers, Gangren Curuthers, Cafpha Grekta, Vikrem Grekta, the Lieutenant, Jiok, Millie Patrickson (maiden name Quincy), Vincent Patrickson, Nimbuan, Tim, Jennifer, Archer, Jackal, and the innkeeper of Yebsbadeck. All other minors or extras in the story that have not occurred in the Slayers series (first, Next, Try, Special, Delicious, etc), are of my own conception as well and are copyrighted along with the rest of the cast.

The Cities of the North is an original concept of my own, which includes the four common cities: Yebsbadeck, Barektashentmalek, Rhamaehalet, and Ivo; along with the fabled city of Orlanin, its true title being Arrannon.

No characters listed above, featured in my anime fan-art, or named in the following story may be used or mentioned for the purpose of personal benefit (such as earning money on a web site or claiming them as your own), without the express written consent of the author/artist. No reproductions of the cities aforementioned may be made for such reasons as personal benefit without permission as well. Outright plagiarism will be dealt with in a legal manner (seriously, it will be).

now, the actual foreword

When creating this story, i tried to make it different from the typical fan-fiction by not just creating a new and unique set of events in which famous characters from a certain series participate, i wanted to make an entirely new setting and add several characters from a manga that i had been working on for the past five years (it was a complete failure, don't ask. I`m sure you`re not interested anyways...).

This is a war story, meant to be serious as it progresses, yet mildly comical as it begins. Imagery plays a large roll in much of the text (since i'm not skilled at all with sketching landscapes of any kind), and therefore, the story will unfold itself slowly (much like the foreword).

Actually, The Slayers of Orlanin is intended to be a series of short, three-chaptered volumes that make up one larger story. I'll attempt to put together a new volume every month to continue the series, but don't be too shocked if i fall behind schedule (adding graphics to the whole thing makes it take much longer, and the creative process isn't exactly easy for me). You can all count on it being a long-running series since most professional novels take about 5-7 years to complete.
