Zel's head rested on lina's lap. He was suffering too much from a splitting head ache caused by the forces of good and evil, to worry too much about being embarrassed. He sighed as lina continued to try and massage the pain away.
The two brats argued non-stop, Xellos was THE most annoying being he'd ever had the misfourtune to meet, Gourry's loud snoring grated nastily, and that val person was either flirting with His Lina or hitting on a flustered Filia. He gazed at his angel with eyes that pleaded for her to 'make them go away!' She smiled appologeticly and continued to rubb away his monsterous migrane.
Sylfiel floated over to the pair, offering them some iced tea. Before they had a chance to accept their hostess' generosity, the final player decended into their midst. THEN all hell broke loose.
"MOM!" Phibby cried, on the verge of charging to her side, only to be beaten there by his sire.
"LINY-DARLING!" Xellos exclaimed from the floor at her feet where he was happily glomping her knees.
"Sigh... Xellos. Get off." Liny said blandly.
"Ne.. Liny-chan! You're so Cold!" Xellos whined as his ex freed herself and moved to join the others in the salon.
Phibby looked like a lost puppy as he watched the two most important people to him interact. He sat down in a corner quietly as young Amelia showered him with pitifull teary gazes.
"What do you want Xellos?" Liny asked coldly, checking her nails as they were, by far, more important.
Xellos crawled over to the bitter red head and once more situated himself at her feet. "Why dearest! I've come to beg you for a second chance my love!"
"no."
"But sweet heart!"
"No."
"I've really changed! Honey Bunny!"
"NO."
"That's soo cold!"
"Whatever."
"Um.. well." Sylfiel started, "I guess i'll go start preparing our meal."
"I'll help you Sylfiel." Liny declared and followed the timid brunette. Xellos sighed and shuffled outside, bemoaning his lost cause.
"P..poor... Phibby!" Amelia sniffed and glomped the child of darkness, bawling unconsolably on his shoulder, much to his dismay.
"Ye-Uck! Quit It! That's Disgusting! Get OFF ME YOU GOODY GOODY!!" he screamed struggling like mad to dislodge the wheepy girl. Slipping from her grasp he sidled over to Lina and Zel. "Auntie Lina.. I need your help.. please."
"Huh? With what?" Zelgadis asked curiously.
"Um.. can you help get them together again?" he pleaded softly. "Pretty please!? I miss my mom and.. and.. I want to have a family again."
"Hmm." Lina thought, coming up with an interesting idea. "tell you what Phibby. how about we make a bargan?"
"What do you mean?" he asked, puzzled.
"I mean, you promise NOT to destroy the world and all of humanity by fulling that dark Prophecy and I'll help your folks get back together."
Phibbrizo's eyes lit up with hope. "DEAL!" Lina nodded with satisfaction as they shook on it, sealing their deal. Zel smirked at her cleaver ploy and Amelia regained her choke hold on his wiggling body. Filia, flushed with al the attention she was recieving from the fallen angel, and Val, blinded by the guardian's lovliness, both missed the exchange.
The new morning light found a somewhat cheery couple nursing their cups of hot Java and conspiring out on the porch. "That was very cleaver of you Lina.' Zel commented, "Getting Phibbrizo to cancel the prophecy like that and saving the world. Very sly."
"Thank you Zel. I aim to please, and it takes quite a load off." she grinned.
"Uh huh. Say, what are your plans to get those two back together anyway?"
"Simple." she smiled, "One of the things that most attracted sis to him was the fact that I hated his guts and beat on him every chance I got. So all I have to do if pound him a good one, while Liny's watching, and presto! Xellos gets his second chance and a date with Liny."
"Sneaky! Sounds good. He should be able to take it from there.. hopefully." He said, a smile gracing his features as well as the duo watched the new day begin in peace.
Liny looked up from her book by the sounds of pain and battle. getting up to investigate she was startled to come upon the sight of Xellos getting his butt kicked by her victorious and vengeful sibling.
"Think you can mess with an Inverse and get away un-scathed!" she growled down at the mincemeat Metallium. "HA!"
"Oh, Morning Liny. Boy this feels like it's going to be a good day!" Lina piped passing her twin on her way.
"Hmm.." Liny mumbled as Xellos began to pick himself up. "So-right?"
"S-okay." he groaned. "She's gotten stronger since last time..."
She couldn't stop the little giggle that escaped her soon smiling lips. "Hee.. hmm.. okay. Xellos you can have your second chance." she smirked, turning away from the stunned demon. "See you at Eight!" she called back as she disappeared back to her book.
"YE-ES!" Xellos crowed, "I AM the MAN!! OH YEAH!" he ended with his happy rooster strut. now to plan the perfect evening to win back my wife! it won't be like last time.. though it DID work out in my favor, but this is by far more important. he thought, guess its time to get some advice. And with that thought, he went off to hunt down the other male members in the house.
"Oh do stop laughing Val, this is important." Xellos snorted, sure he had made a big oops in coming to the skirt-chasing minion for help.
"S..sorry m.. HA.. master!" Val chortled, "but it IS quite funny."
"yeah yeah, whatever." Xellos pouted.
"Well it's no biggie. Just remember what she did and did not like about you and pour on the Metallium charm. Seriously, what woman could resist you boss!" Val stated.
"Unless THAT is what she didn't like in the first place." Zel interrupted, causing both villains to fall back in surprise.
"oh? And what do you recommend?" Val sneered.
"Well..." he thought, "if you truly love her, be honest and tell her. Confess all your feelings and respect her and hers. After that, you just have to have faith that it will all work out in the end."
"Damn that's good advice." they chorused quietly.
"Thank you father. That was most helpful." Xellos grinned.
"I'm not a priest anymore!" Zel sighed for the umpteenth time, "Quit calling me that!"
"Right. Sorry brother."
"I'm Not a Monk Either!"
"Well then tell us, when are you and the other inverse chick gonna get it on?' Val teased.
"Wha.. what!" Zel blushed.
"Well she Is your angel and here to help You, so.. why not just tell her to Help you loose your virginity?" Val continued, amused by the flustered ex-priest.
"it's not like.. I can't.. we.. don't.. AHH! I'm Not Like That You Perv! Min your OWN business!" he stammered, red faced, and left them to their own devices.
"Nice boy that Zelgadis." Xellos mused.
"Yeah." Val agreed, "but the poor guy's never gonna get laid."
Xellos checked and re-checked his appearance in the mirror for the umpteenth time. He looked beyond yummy in his midnight purple suit and blue silk shirt. Unfortunately the knowledge of his delectable good looks did squat to calm his nerves.
"For Crying Out Loud DAD!" screamed a fed-up Phibbrizo. "You're Sexy! Now get the hell outta here before you blow all your chances cause you've been too busy preening like some dip-wit school slut!"
Xellos mussed his son's hair before departing on his wife-wooing mission. He had the perfect date planned; he just hoped it didn't get spoiled like the last one. Though the previous one did have a favorable outcome, he wasn't too sure she'd be interested in a second drenching near death experience. he arrived promptly at eight at Liny's door, whistling houndishly at her daring attire. In a low cut, black, sleeveless silk gown with enough crimson glitter on the hem to produce the illusion of flattering flames, Liny inverse-Metallium, was a sin's sin come to life.
"Xellos stop drooling," she teased, "you'll ruin my new shoes."
"Yes my queen." Xel purred, wrapping his arm about her waist. "Shall we be off?" and with a snap of his fingers, they vanished.
The couple re-appeared at the posh city harbor where the giant steal ship awaited the complete boarding of its elite and snobby passengers. Liny was impressed as Xellos escorted her onto the boat.
"Mmm... a romantic sunset harbor cruise. You are definitely pulling out all the stops on this one Xellos." Liny mused, sipping genteelly from her champagne flute.
"I promise you Liny-chan, this will be one enchanting evening you'll never forget." he replied watching her fawn over playful dolphins as they raced the heavy boat through the waves.
"We'll see Xellos, we'll see.' she told him vaguely, determined to make him work to win back her heart. Or at least her trust. She wouldn't be sold so cheaply again, not without some form of collateral.
They eventually docked on a distant resort. The resort was a soothing hotspring and spa, the only way to get there was via the cruise ship or act of God. It wasn't long before the two of them had soaked themselves in the experienced hands of spa masseuses. Feeling fairly mellow they decided to take a stroll about the island. They walked through the dream-like forest, chatting occasionally but mostly enjoying the quiet of the other's company. Something they hadn't done for some time, and discovered they missed.
Liny paused as a distant glint in the distance caught her eye. "Say Xellos, what ever could that be?" she murmured softly.
"let's investigate!" he offered, taking her hand and leading the way through the brush. Their curiosity was appeased somewhat as they came upon a small lily speckled pond. The moon reflective pool sparkled with joy at being discovered and delightfully gave them hints of a secret cavern hidden at its end, as if waiting just for them. With careless shrugs and almost childish giggles they kicked off their shoes and socks. Pulling up the hems of their clothing in order to save them from an un-nesscessary soaking, they waded through the cool clean water to see what lay within the shadows.
In moments they were swallowed by darkness. They clung to each other like lost souls as they were enfolded into the pristine quiet of their private magic world. All around them, tiny sparkling stars flashed. it was like being in the very center of the universe.
Xellos stared at Liny under the light of all the earthy stars, entranced. "I Love You." he spoke without knowing. Liny looked at him confused as his confession continued, as if the serenity of the very place forced it finally from its resting-place within him. "I have since.. forever it seems. Loosing you meant loosing everything important to me. With you nothing else matters, no one else matters.. forgive me for being such an idiot and not telling you sooner Liny. but never forget that, no matter what.. I love it, and it will never change."
Liny's eyes searched deeply into his violet orbs. "You know.. I remember our first date." she said finally, "THE worst date in history I bet." Xellos winced at the truth about it. "This date though.. Xellos... THIS date is perfect." With a gentle loving smile she kissed him. A kiss he returned just as passionately.
What do you know, the kid was right, flittered vaguely in the back of the demon's mind but not for long; as more pressingly important matters of his soon to be ex-ex-wife wiped clear the notion of thinking all together.
Zel took a deep breath before knocking on the door. it opened to the sight of Lina trussed up in one of his traveling robes. The robe had been modified earlier by the ever-helpful Syfiel and now gave Lina the air of a mysterious medieval sorceress. "Wow. That's a good look for you Lina." Zel commented as she twirled. "Ready to go?"
"Ready and willing!" Lina grinned and the two set off on their own quest. They were no longer needed, so it was time to fulfill their own destinies and follow the paths before them. By the time they finally had to stop to set up camp, Sai Rag was but a distant memory.
"Ah.. Lina."
"yeah?"
"Do you.. I mean.. ah IREALLYLIKEYOU Lina." he spat out as quickly as he could.
"Lina bit back her mirth as she sidled up close to the blushing youth. "I Like you to Zel." she told him, placing a hand intimately on his thigh. "A lot in fact." Zel stayed motionless as his darling's face and lips came ever closer to his own. "Though I'm not about to help you lose your virginity.. yet. I'm not that kind of girl." she grinned wickedly as he almost collapsed in shock.
"Wha.. WHAT! You.. you hard that! Oh GOD! I Didn't.. whoa.. wait. What do you mean yet?" he sputtered as the red head laughed and kissed him into silence. "Oh Lina," he breathed, delirious, "you truly are my gift from god." and he kissed her right back.
Two childish voices yelled at each other all the way to the roots of the huge-ass-tree.
"Quit following me Justice Freak!" growled Phibby.
"NO!" Amelia growled right back, "it would be un-just to leave a villain like you un-attended."
"Well its UN-JUST to condemn a guy solely on WHO his folks are! or by some dumb rumor!!!" Phibby proclaimed silencing the young brunette with his logic. Reveling in the quiet of his victory he sat on one of the roots and gazed at the moon. Nothing better to do, and feeling a little guilty, Amelia sat herself down next to him. When she was about to comment, Phibby's next statement halted the opening of her mouth.
"ya know, you're kinda cute when you shut up." he said as all Amelia could do was blush.
"Looks like a draw." a smooth masculine voice commented.
"Seems that way." a soothing feminine voice conceded.
"So then, Filia, how bout you and me go for a nice cup of coffee and get to know each other better." Val flirted.
"That sounds quite nice." Filia smiled as they left their charges alone, for probably the first time in history, and walked off into town. "Though, I'd prefer tea."
