Zelgadis looked down at the body at his feet, clothed from head to toe in fiery colours, and found himself crying at the loss of life, crystalline tears tumbling to the ground. He threw his head up to look at the heavens, rain already tumbling down.
What awful waste of life! He'd...he'd loved her, and she'd done this, thrown his love to the wind, forsaken him, killed part of him. He looked back down at h...at the corpse. A friend, a partner, a dependable ally, someone he'd loved? Maybe. Now he'd never know.
He looked up again, noting Gourry also felt the same way, his face gaunt. He'd always tried to be the brother that never was, and had succeeded. And yet, even he had failed in his protection.
Zelgadis felt betrayed, bitter. He collapsed to the floor, clothes soaking and heart filled with despair. An irresistable compulsion gripped his body, filled his heart, intoxicated his soul, and he noted again that Gourry felt the same. He drew his sword, stabbed it into the ground, and he and Gourry screamed to the heavens.
"Oh my GOD! Lina killed Kenny!"
"YOU BASTARDS!!"
