Prologue

Stuff happens. Everybody knows that; and sometimes the stuff is unimportant, and most times they're not.

Confused yet?? Well...

Somewhere, a flame-haired soceress started having nightmares again, dreams that left her waking up with her throat worn and raw from soundless screams...

Somewhere, a blond swordsman re-aquires the Sword of Light when the guardians of the weapons decided to scatter the weapons for safety. They thought that it would be safest in the hands of the sword's last owner...

Somewhere, a smiling priest leaves regretfully, called on by his master to complete some reconnaissance. He's usually given free rein though, but free rein by intention or inattention still remains to be seen. Not that he minds either way, so long as (for most of the time) he could choose where to be...

Somewhere, a happy princess lept to the top of a tree and felled some bandits by the sheer staggering onslaught of her passionate speeches. The hapless bandits groaned in agony from their simultaneous facefault and then was mercifully rendered senseless by the Fists of Justice. The princess smiled happily. Life was good...

Somewhere, a chimera stared sadly down at his coffee.

Why me?, he asked himself, And how? How could that innocent, beautiful girl love...love me? She could have anyone from her kingdom, and in fact anyone from this world in marriage; and yet, by L-sama's blind and leaden shovel, she choose a freak like me. Why?!

The angsty blue one gazed down at the swirls of cream as if they held all the answers to the Golden Sea...

Somewhere, a prince glanced sadly at a small portait of his deceased wife, the tall, leggy, and brown-haired beauty that she was. Tall, leggy, and brown-haired. He frowned for the millionth time.

"Who was he?" he whispered...

Somewhere, a reborn dragon reached his first birthday; a normal, happy, male dragon. He looked like a seven year old; but Filia wasn't worried, because she knew that dragons normally aged faster than humans at first and then almost stop aging around their teens.

So little Valteria was growing up in a perfectly normal way, it appears. Something rustled her curtains; probably the wind...

Somewhere, a dark-haired shrine maiden tried to find a replacement. She had to take a vacation and go search for HIM. She just HAD to. It felt right, and they were perfect for each other.

She wondered whether their children would have his blond hair or her black hair, but somehow knew with a startling certainty that they would have one of both...

Somewhere, a golden dragon puttered about her shop, fixed the curtains, and finished dusting. She looked at the time and smiled, closing up. Today was Valteria's birthday, and she should hurry up so she could go home and bake a birthday cake.

She wondered briefly about her other friends, some more than others, then shook her head.

Think about Valteria, think only about Valteria...

Somewhere, in the Sea of Chaos, an entity swished by, utterly bored. This was pure Hell, there was nothing to do whatsoever. Bored, bored, bored. I can't believe Mother grounded me here, the being 'thought'.

Okay, sure, I was trying to see if I could collaspe her pet project, distroyed one of my brothers, and almost killed her favorite, but what did you expect?! The entity sighed, then brightened as it suddenly got an idea. It hurriedly swished up one of the Staffs coming out of the Sea and peered at his Mother's world. Hey, if this kept her amused since the beginning of time, it can very well keep him amused too.

"LoOk BUt DoN't ToUcH, PHiBrEzo."

"Yes, Mother..."

...Somehow, all these little glimpses are interrelated, and fit together in a way that makes absolute and total sense. But these are still only wisps of time, image, and emotion yet to be woven into the Tapestry that never had a beginning and will never have a end. One of the perhaps more interesting segments of this tapestry shall thus be related, and everything will be understood just a little bit more.

Will all be understood?

Perhaps; who would know?

Will all be misunderstood?

Quite likely. But then, that's where all the fun lies...
