"Ahhhhh. what a nice Inn." Lina thought. She was sitting in the bath tub. It was nice and warm, but not too hot. The rooms themselves were also very nice.
"Well, I can't stay here ALL night." She thought. She got out of the bath. She changed into her pajamas and went up to her room. On her way, to her room, she had to pass by Amelia, Gourry and Zel's rooms. On her way past Zel's she heard a tremendous crash. She pushed the door open.
A scene of chaos met her eyes. Most of the room was untouched. However, Zel was sitting in a pile or rubble that looked to be the remains of a bed. He looked not a little suprised. Lina was shocked, and slightly amused.
"Zel, YOU BROKE THE BED?!" she asked.
"It's not MY fault that I weigh half a ton!" was his reply
"What the heck were you doing???" she said.
"Um...."
"On second thought maybe I don't want to know."
"It wasn't anything like that!!!!! I just sat on it and it collapsed."
"Right. Well.... I guess you'll have to deal with it."
"great."
Lina left. She got almost all the way to her room, before She burst out laughing. She noticed that She was apparently being watched by a stone statue.
"What's that look for?" She growled.
"Don't ask me! I'm stone remember! I don't know what the idiot who created me was thinking, when he carved me, but he gave me this look! I can't change that damn thing!"
Lina sweat dropped, and left. She went into her room, lay down in bed and went to sleep.
It was a bright morning. The sun was warm, the birds were chirping, and the world was in complete harmony-Almost.
"LINA! THATS MINE!!!" Gourry yelled.
"Nuh-UH! These are MINE!!" came the reply
"Miss Lina, Mr. Gourry, please give me some food...."
"Get it if you can Amelia...." Zel said, sweat dropping, "I don't think that this will be any easier than most mornings."
"Huh, maybe you're right." She said, and went into the fray.
"Ahhh! That was nice!" Lina said. "It was a nice inn too..."
"I don't know about that." Zel said sullenly. Lina, guessing what he was thinking giggled.
"SHUT UP!" Zel said.
Sensing a way to break the tension, Amelia asked, "Where are we going now?"
"Well..." Lina began "I was thinking that we should go to the ruins of Celaidia. I've heard that they have a HUGE library there, and it could have some valuable manuscripts."
Suddenly a voice from the bushes said, "Pika Pika!" Lina yelled, and almost everyone else jumped a mile. Zel didn't, he just looked at the bush. A small yellow animal emerged, looked at him and said "Pika pi? Pikapikachu!!!!!!"
Zel sweatdropped. "I think he is saying that he can't find his owner...." he said.
"Well yeah! He's in the wrong anime!" Lina replied. Then She said to the pikachu, "You need to go back to the Pokemon anime!"
Pikachu nodded and with a final "CHA!" he left.
Everyone sweat-dropped.
"So... Lina -San..." Amelia said, "how far do we have to go before we get to Celaidia?"
"about five days if were moving fast. We probably want to do that, because I hear that the ruins are a well sought after place. We don't want to go to quickly though. We need to keep a good pace. As the proverb goes, 'slow and steady wins the race'."
"OH! That's like that fable!" said Gourry. Everyone looked at him blankly, so he explained, "You know the one that is about the tortoise giving a snail tips on how to move quickly so that he can win a race. It goes 'said the tortoise to the snail...'"
"GOURRY YOU JELLYFISH!!!!!!! THATS NOT THE WAY IT GOES AT ALL! IT'S A TORTOISE AND A HARE! THERE IS NO SNAIL!!"
"OH! oops!"
"Yes I did." She said simply.
Everyone else sweat dropped.
Lina and CO were walking down the road. Lina was humming, and almost dancing with excitement. "OH! I bet there are a whole BUNCH of neat books to see."
She said. "And we're almost there! I can't wait!"
Suddenly a wall rose into sight. It was Ivy covered, and had a large iron gate put in the side. There seemed to be a plack on the wall near the gate that said, "Celaidia library, enter at your own risk."
"How could a library be dangerous?" asked Amelia. "Maybe it has books on how to be unjust??"
"maybe it has some really strong dark magic books in it. Anyway, We need to get that gate out of the way. FIRE BALL!"
The gate, or more to the point what was left of it, Crashed inward. Lina was the first to enter the enclosure. An amazing sight met her eyes. A building made entirely of something that looked to be white marble was standing in the center of the area. It's roof was gilded, and it shimmered As though it was newly made. The windows in the walls were immense. Lina ran towards it and reached the door. She opened it just As her friends caught up to her. Inside was lighted, by the sun, and She could clearly see row upon row of books. Eagerly She ran over to the first shelf. Her friends followed suit but went to different shelves. Lina picked up a book, and then turned bright red. "They did it in blazing saddles! True stories of men who love their horses WAY to much!" She red. "WHAT THE HELL?" She yelled. She looked at another book. She read the title. "Give me back my balls you damn virgin! By Ima Pervert." Don't tell me their ALL like this! The thought. She looked up. "Hey you guys!" She said, "what do your books look like??"
"Ummm.... Miss Lina I don't think I should read any titles. Lets just say that they are a bunch of... erm... trashy romance novels."
"What about you Zel?" Lina asked.
"More of the same." he said.
"I can't believe it! This whole library is FULL of bad romance novels???"
"Lina I.."
"Not NOW Gourry!"
"But Lina I" Not Now! Lets get out of here! She said."
Later that week, Lina, Gourry, Amelia and Zelgadis were back at the same inn. Lina was still pissed about the library. "I can't believe what a bust that was!" She said."
"Well..." Zel said, "It would explain why the Library is so popular. It's not just full of bad romances, in fact compared with some of the stuff I saw that was tame! There are so many perverts in the world, I'm not suprised that the library is popular."
"yeah, well I still think it's a bust. Anyway, I'm going back to my room. I need to repack some stuff so that We can go tomorrow."
Lina left the room. Gourry followed Her out. "Lina I have something to give you."
"what is it Gourry, I don't have a lot of time."
"Well, when you were in the library, I tried to tell you about the books I was looking at. You wouldn't let me so I brought you one." Out from behind his back he pulled a book. It's title was "Ultima" by Chax Gorm. Just by looking at it Lina could tell that the spell was powerful dark magic.
"Thank you Gourry." She said.
"No problem." he answered. "Just listen to me next time, ok?"
"Yeah!"
The next day they left. Not sure where they were going, or what they'd be doing, but they felt that adventure was just around the corner.
