Zelgadiss sits by the window, looking out into the night, ignoring the others inside the inn, keeping himself apart. Xellos watches him from where he sits by the fire, wanting to pull him away from the window, knowing it will do no good. He goes over and tries anyway, but the chimera pushes him away and returns to his seat by the window.

"Damn!" Zelgadiss throws the book across the room after hitting yet another dead end. "Damn you Rezo."
"He's already dead," Xellos says, appearing in front of the angry chimera, "What more do you want to do to him?"
"Go away." Zelgadiss says, turning to take another book from the shelf. Xellos remains there, ignoring the order, watching him seriously.

Xellos walks up behind Zelgadiss who is standing on the edge of a cliff, far from their campsite. He wraps his arms around the chimera, who freezes in shock. They remain that way for a long moment, and then Zelgadiss pulls away with a curse, leaving Xellos alone on the cliff edge.

Zelgadiss lies on his back, eyes closed as Xellos slowly kisses down his neck. When the mazoku's hands begin unclasping Zelgadiss' cloak, he pushes Xellos away, sits up and leaves. Xellos remains sitting where he landed, hand pressed against the pain in his chest as tears begin falling down his cheeks.

Xellos sits by the fire, drinking tea, looks up to find Zelgadiss watching him and smiles. Zelgadiss blushes and looks away. After a few moments he pulls both his mask and hood up, hiding behind them. Xellos sighs and watches the shapes in the fire again.

Zelgadiss is healing his arm after a battle, Xellos comes and kisses it all better. When Zelgadiss doesn't respond, Xellos takes advantage of the fact that the chimera's shirt if off to kiss his chest all better, even though it isn't hurt. Zelgadiss pushes him away when he hears the others coming back.

Xellos sits alone at the breakfast table while Lina, Gourry, and Amelia fight over the food on the table behind him. Zelgadiss comes down the stairs, looks at Xellos, looks at the battle behind him and sits down at the Xellos' table across from the mazoku. Without looking at Xellos, he orders coffee and sips it quietly. Xellos drinks the rest of his tea with a smile.

Zelgadiss walks into his inn room and throws his cloak over the back of a chair. He stops as he passes by the mirror and turns to look at his reflection.
"Beautiful," Xellos whispers, appearing behind him, looking over his shoulder as he wraps his arms around Zelgadiss. Without a word, Zelgadiss turns in his embrace and pulls Xellos against him for a deep kiss.
