Xellos sighed as he walked through the large corridors towards his room on Wolf Pack Island. He could have just transported there of course, but he wanted to mope, and so he walked and sighed again. He knew he should be happy, it was his birthday after all, but after you passed a millennia or two they just started to seem like just another day. Except...
Except that you always seemed to hope for that one absolutely-perfect-better-than-anything-else-present. No matter what, you always seemed to expect to find it waiting for you somewhere wrapped up with a big red bow. The chances of that happening this year however were about as likely as Lina giving money to charity.
He sighed again and looked up as he reached the door to his bedroom. Tonight that was really the last place he wanted to be, but he supposed it didn't matter where he was, he'd feel this depressed anywhere. Resigned to his fate he opened the door and froze. He blinked. He rubbed his eyes, but what he saw didn't change.
There, sitting on his bed, was that one absolutely-perfect-better- than-anything-else-present tied with a big red bow that had a tag hanging down from it. Closing the door behind him he walked over to the bed and read the tag.

Overcome with joy Xellos gave his absolutely-perfect-better-than- anything-else-present a great big hug, and then laughed when the present gave a startled squeak and tried to move away. "Tsk, tsk Zel-chan." He said, holding tightly to the ribbon-bound chimera. "You can't leave, you're a present from my Mommy-beast." He began to snuggle him again, "Just what I wanted more than anything."
Zelgadiss began to talk vehemently, regardless of the fact that he was gagged with red ribbon, apparently not all that happy about being Xellos' absolutely-perfect-better-than-anything-else-present.
"What was that Zel-chan?" Xellos asked, pulling the ribbon away from Zelgadiss' mouth.
"The second you untie me, I am going to kill you mazoku." The chimera growled, but Xellos only smiled as he squeezed him again.
"You are absolutely-perfect-better-than-anything-else, that was exactly what I thought you'd say." He loosened his hold and leaned back, amethyst eyes sparkling. "So I'll just be sure to unwrap you very, very, very slowly."
Zelgadiss' rage was cut off with a nervous 'urk' and Xellos smiled again as he began to unwrap his absolutely-perfect-better-than-anything- else-present so that he could play.
