"You can't go up there."
Quatre gaped at the young girl. "Valia-chan," he started.
"No." Valia looked up into the apartment. Tears started out of her blue eyes as her hands trembled. "She was so cruel to me... leaving me as I was, but changing the people I knew..."
"She?" Trowa asked, confused. There was a slight memory, but... "Oh, God. You don't mean the Lord of Nightmares, do you?"
The young girl didn't answer right away. "You don't understand what's going on, Quatre-san, Trowa-san. I was raised to hate the namagomi." Her blue eyes met Quatre's. "You taught me that. Seeing how the two of you... m-my family... how you're friends with the namagomi Mazoku..." She shook her head. "I have hatred for him from both of you." Tears finally spilled from her eyes. "But that isn't the worst..."
Quatre gathered the girl into his arms. "Shh. It's alright, Vali-chan." The Arabian ran a hand through her aqua tresses. "But you don't understand. Heero's our friend. And the way Duo's been acting... we're afraid he remembers. We have to go up, and make sure they're both fine."
"You can't," she muttered. "Liena's up there."
Trowa looked up, inhaling sharply. "Has there...?"
"No."
Valia turned around, startled. "Who there?" she demanded, her hands tightening on Quatre's lavender-pink shirt.
Dorothy walked out, and opened her eyes, smiling softly. "Valia. Hello." She nodded to Quatre and Trowa. "I take it you two remember?"
"What are you doing here, Dorothy?" Quatre asked in a low voice.
"Visiting my imouto-chan," the pale-blonde said simply. "I can't do that?"
Valia gasped, her hands tightening more. "Y-you can't be... can you?" Her blue eyes widened considerably as she finally tugged on the sleeve. "Mom," she said excitedly, "Mom, Mom, MOM! That's Knight-sama! She's the incarnation of Luna Inverse, the Knight of Cepheed!"
Dorothy nodded. "I'm surprised that the two dragon incarnates haven't remembered. However..." She tousled Valia's aqua locks. "You were always a smart dragon kid." She started walking off, waving. "I'll see you later. Perhaps under better situations."
"Matte!" Valia scrambled out of Quatre's arms, running after the girl. "What's going on? With Liena and the chimera?"
The incarnate of the Knight of Cepheed looked up, her eyes tired. "Duo Maxwell and Heero Yuy are different than Xellos Metallium and Zelgadis Greywords, Valia. Duo may be Xellos is spirit, but, in many ways, he's more innocent than the Mazoku." She turned her gaze to the young dragon girl. "But, in many ways, he's less. Right now, he's having trouble with his identity." Dorothy's voice dropped, making Valia strain her ears to hear. "What all of you need to remember is that none of us are the same as before. Duo isn't Xellos, Valia. He's a human kid that's having trouble with memories he never experienced."
"Once a namagomi Mazoku, always a namagomi Mazoku," Valia snarled. "I can even tell he's still a Mazoku. He's not human, and he won't ever be."
"And what about your parents? Is Quatre the same as Filia? Is Trowa the same as Valteria?"
The girl shook her head. "N-no..." she faltered.
"No one is the same." Dorothy quickly hugged the dragon girl. "Please, Valia, don't make the same mistake Liena was about to."
Valia watched the incarnation of the Knight of Cepheed walk off, her arms crossed as she fidgeted. Finally, she turned around, looking at the apartment building.
"Quatre-san? Trowa-san?" she called in a wavering voice. "Let's go up. I-I would like to meet Heero Yuy and Duo Maxwell."
