"So what are we doing out here?" Gourry asked bored. Zelgadis and Lina both groaned at the latest repeat of the question. Amelia, on the other hand, never tired of explaining things to Gourry.
"We are here to find and destroy the monster that has been terrorizing the countryside and smash it with the hammer of justice so that it will never threaten decent people ever again." Zelgadis and Lina groaned again. At least Amelia wasn't stupid, but she was pretty much just a kid. An extremely hyper kid given to believing in fairy tales, black and white morality, and absolute trust in anything that appears on the surface as okay, but still just a kid. And she was at least partially correct.
"For the hundredth time!" Lina shouted. "There is a library of magical texts in the area and if we get rid of this monster then maybe they'll let us in to take a look at it."
"A library of magical tomes, I thought they were rare," Amelia said.
"Yeah, I thought the Clair Bible was the only one we'd determined was really magical."
"Lina refers to books on magical theory," Zelgadis explained. "And while they do not have any real spells they do have several thoughts and ideas on how to cast magic more efficiently. And they might also give some clue to a cure for me."
"And it is the ONLY place on this world where they hold books by extradimensional sorcerers."
"Oh, and I can't you two just go in if its a library," Gourry asked. Zelgadis and Lina fumed.
"Oh you got into a fight inside, right?" Amelia asked.
"We don't want to talk about it," Zelgadis declared.
"If not a fight what? Trying to steal the books?"
"I believe that Zel said we didn't want to talk about it."
Amelia and Gourry looked at each other confused.
"Both?" They asked simultaneously as they turned back to the other two.
"WE DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT!!!!" the other two yelled back.
"All right, all right," Amelia backed off.
"All you had to do was ask." Zelgadis and Lina dropped to the floor, frustrated beyond endurance.
"Hey what's that?" Gourry asked, pointing straight up.
"Its a dimensional portal," Lina said matter of factly. "And two people in for a long fall."
"Should we go up and catch them?" Amelia asked.
"If they can open a dimensional portal a little fall shouldn't be too much of a problem should it?" Even as Zelgadis said it the pair were suddenly sitting atop a flat plane of magical force. As they drifted down they heard.
"...But if these people found our demon, I think we've wasted our time." It was a purring female voice
"Yeah they look pretty capable of taking care of themselves."
