Stitches

Notes

The song Stitches was written by Orgy and it's on their Candyass album. It can be assumed that I don't own Slayers ^^;.

If it stayed I'd never leave it,
if that turned around, I'd grieve the special dirty things
that we used to talk about -

He didn't know what made her so special, but he never was good at things like that. He knew that he didn't care, she was wonderful, to him she was perfect.

But he'd never say that.

- I mean that knowing you is strange
and adored by me throughout -

It was pure chemistry- being near her gave him the most amazing feeling; every touch was a burst of adrenaline enveloping his already dizzy brain. He didn't know much, he knew that he loved the feeling.... that he loved her.

But he'd never say that.

She'd never know that.

He couldn't say it.

She wouldn't like it.

He never tried to say it.

She'd never -

...he was an idiot.

Now she -

- Oh no, it's you again.

Lina...

She was...

...it was impossible.

She is the strongest sorceress in the world.

But he...

It -

Xelloss.

Someday soon you'll find that someone waiting for the
chance to beat you -

Was she alive?

She was right there.

She looked so pretty in the black dress. It wasn't revealing or image enhancing - it was plain, long, slit on the sides... she wore pretty little anklets around her bare feet - She looked amazing. His eyes fell on her talisman.

She was gone -

No she wasn't.

She was right there.

Drooling on the set to feel you

Staring at him.

Red eyes.

Subdued eyes.

Blank eyes.

Dead eyes.

She was there.

Blessing you with every kiss

With him.

At his feet.

Bastard.

Tying yourself to me -
stitch up my emptiness
'cause you're the death of me -

Xelloss looked up and displayed his sadistic mockery of a warm smile. You're too late.

- So precious, loving the thrill.

He languidly ran his fingers through her long mane of red hair, "Look Lina-chan, someone to see us."

She made no motion to move away as Xelloss continued to weave his agile hands through her curls, instead she laid her head upon his lap and watched the "visitor" with dulled interest.

Tying your self to me -
stitch up my emptiness
'cause you're the death of me -

He felt sick. How could he - how dare he!

How could she let him?

She was so melancholy, it wasn't like her.

It couldn't be her.

But there she was.

He would kill him.

So precious, loving the thrill.

Xelloss eyed him calmly as he drew his sword. "Oh please don't hurt me," he said with obvious sarcasm.

"Hikari-O!"

Xelloss sighed and pulled Lina to her feet. "This isn't your place Gourry," he said in a light warning.

Such the patient one who needs me -

"Lina! Come on Lina! Get away from him!"

Blank eyes.

Veiled eyes.

Unreadable eyes.

"She won't listen you know," Xelloss said drawing her close.

- The spoiled one who wins.

"How can you do that?"

"Do what?"

"You're treating her like a puppet! How could - "

Xelloss smiled through slit violet eyes, " - Because I'm me."

"You're sick."

"And you're an idiot. Why discriminate?"

So shocking, where's your sense?

"Leave now," Xelloss said, stroking Lina's cheek lovingly. "Go far, far away, marry, have children, be loved by many. Go die an old man surrounded by family." Xelloss turned a cold gaze upon him, creating a nauseating wave of fear in Gourry. "You have no idea how often I've wanted to kill you."

"So why didn't you ever try? Why don't' you try now?"

smile

Don't you know, I hate you so

"That my dear friend is a secret." He kissed the top of Lina's head. She laid down her head on his shoulder.

Trickster.

Two-faced.

Hate. He hated him, hatehatehate. He was going to chop him into fine pieces the damn -

Envy.

Jealousy.

Stupid bastard.

Unsatisfied, you little girl

"This predicament is your own fault," he sighed unhappily. "I suppose you wish that you two where more honest with one another."

"We where."

"Where you?"

They where. He loved her, she loved him. They where always together. They where, they -

- never -

too late.

Tying yourself to me -
stitch up my emptiness
'cause you're the death of me -

"Oh, come on now, can't stand to see a friend upset!" Xelloss said in a cheery tone. "Here, I'll tell you secret."

- so precious loving the thrill

Gourry looked up, uncertain. Confusion was clearly written in his blue eyes.

Tired.

Sleep.

But he hadn't done anything.

Rest.

He shouldn't feel tired.

Injured.

He hadn't fought yet.

Leave.

Not without Lina.

Tying yourself to me -
stitch up my emptiness
'cause you're the death of me -

"Just so you don't sink too far into self pity, the truth is - "

Truth? Xelloss was telling the truth?

Lies.

But Xelloss never really lied.

- so precious loving the thrill.

"The truth is that - "

Stop it you sick mazoku Gourry thought with ill repressed rage. How could he - he took Lina away and turned her into a doll, he held her closer than he had ever -

He was going to murder him.

"So original Gourry-kun," Xelloss said, rolling his eyes. "For your own peace of mind, even if you had told her, even then, even if she returned it, you couldn't have stopped this."

Rolling dice and seeming queer

"....what?" Xelloss could read his mind?

Unstoppable.

It wouldn't have mattered if...

A bastard love

He couldn't have stopped him?

Lina couldn't have stopped him?

He couldn't help her fight....

A sick affair

"Of course not," Xelloss said in a disgusted tone. "Isn't that amusing Lina-chan?" He asked, nuzzling at her neck. Her only response was to tilt her head back and roll ruby eyes towards her traveling companion.

Let's see what new disease you'll fetch

"...you're lying. Lina! Lina! It's me Gourry! Let go Xelloss! Lina! LINA!"

"Yare yare, you are a brainless man," Xelloss said shaking his head.

"SHUT-UP! Lina! LET HER GO!"

With a smirk, Xelloss released the small sorceress and stepped back, hands in the air.

I mean that fucking you is strange
and adored by me throughout -

"Lina! Come on let's go!" He offered his hand to her. "Zelgadiss, Amelia, they're waiting for us Lina!"

Questioning eyes.

"That's right! Break it Lina! Fight it!" He was beginning to sound hysterical.

Sad eyes.

"Come back with me Lina! I need you!" He desperately reached towards her, much like a needy child.

Sympathetic eyes.

"...Lina.."

Pitying eyes.

Oh no it's you again

Lina slowly turned back towards Xelloss, turning her back on her traveling companion. Beastmaster's General Priest gave a triumphant laugh and offered his hand, much like Gourry had earlier. She placed her smaller hand in his and he once again drew her close. She gave a glance back towards the swordsman.

Resolute eyes.

Blessing you with every kiss

Xelloss caught her lips with his own, enveloping her in a passionate kiss that she obviously returned.

So precious you know -
This hate of mine exploded

Shattered.

Dead.

His world was dead. Destroyed by one -

Kiss.

"No!!" he cried out heartbroken - causing Xelloss to look up.

Envy.

Loathing.

Disgust.

I'm so deranged you know -
I will never be the same!

Snarling, he leapt at Xelloss, the Sword of Light glowing brighter than it ever had before. Xelloss easily hopped away, never letting go of Lina and never losing his smile. "Put her down and fight!"

"Whatever Gourry-kun! ^_^"

Tying yourself to me,
stitch up my emptiness
'cause you're the death of me -

He gently placed Lina on the floor and then teleported back to the furious swordsman, leaving Lina to watch.

Focused eyes.

Sad eyes.

Dutiful eyes.

So precious loving the thrill

"All your fault Gourry'kun," Xelloss said in a singsongy voice. "If only you hadn't gotten attached to something you can't have."

"Don't' treat me like I'm a lost puppy! And you're not supposed to treat her like that!" In his fury, he lashed out, swinging his sword rapidly. The mazoku of course easily avoided the oddly clumsy blows.

"Poor little jellyfish."

Tying yourself to me,
stitch up my emptiness
'cause you're the death of me -

"Do you honestly think that anyone would let you keep her? A brainless moron like you?"

"You are no one to judge me! And Lina isn't something to be owned!"

Xelloss caught his sword arm and leaned in until they where nose to nose. "I wish I could have been the one to kill you," he said softly.

"What are you? - "

" - Flare Arrow."

So precious loving the thrill

Gourry desperately wretched his arm from Xelloss and leapt away from the magical assault, which dissipated harmlessly against Xelloss' shield.

"Lina!" he cried in joy. "Try and keep your aim - "

Her eyes.

Dutiful eyes.

Professional eyes.

Cold eyes.

" - by the power you and I posses. Dragon Slave."

With a startled cry he rushed to absorb the crimson death into his sword. He couldn't release it, he might hit her. If he let the blade go out Xelloss could easily get him. - Were did she go!?

So precious loving the thrill

Lina's sharp knee connected painfully with his jaw, causing him to lose his grip on the legendary blade, it clattering harmlessly to the floor.

"Lina!" He cried, grabbing her arm as she retreated for another attack. "It's me Gourry! Please!" He could feel the hot tears making salty track down his face. "Please...I....I...I-I LOVE YOU LINA!" He pulled her closer, kissing her desperatly.

As if she was unsure of a written law, she began to kiss back, shyly at first.

Oh gods He thought deliriously happy. "Lina I thought I lost - " scrrrrcht

Red.

Blood.

Pain.

Numb.

So precious loving the thrill

He looked dawn in shock at the gushing wound in his side. She - she had stabbed him with her short sword!? He slowly began his decent to the cold ground, clutching the intrusion in his flesh. "L-lina," he gurgled through the blood, "why?"

She gazed down at him, still holding the rapier sticky with his blood.

Cold eyes.

Murderous eyes.

Tearful eyes.

"Oh, Gourry," she whispered, kneeling beside him. She carefully brushed his bangs away from his handsome face. "You shouldn't have came. You shouldn't have cared."

"why?"

"You don't want to know." She smiled sadly. "I always thought that your heart was too kind and your soul too pure for this world. Good-bye my friend."

No longer able to argue, Gourry closed his blue eyes, falling back into a comforting world of warm light. A world where a pretty red haired girl waited for him with a kind smile -

'Cause you're the death of me

A shame she thought, a few tears escaping from her pupiless eyes. If Xelloss hadn't realized....If Gourry...no, he would never anyway. She reached down and picked up the discarded but fabled Sword of Light. I did always want this. With a glance at the four demonsblood talisman she wore, she lightly walked back to the waiting Xelloss.

So precious loving the thrill

"It had to be done Lina."

"I know."

Content with that he lightly ran a gloved hand over the talisman she wore around her neck.

She was his.

You couldn't own a person...

But you could own a weapon.

And that's what she was, a living weapon bound to her master. It was thought that her kind had been extinct after the Kouma War. How fortunate that he recognized her for what she was.

She had forgotten...

And why not, she was without a master for so long, she was essentially free.

Essentially.

She had nearly binded with the dumb blond, not even realizing it...

But now that would never happen.

She was bound to him..

And he was immortal.

Now and forever -

Lina was his.
