Darkness swirling abysmally around him. Crimson imprints upon stark white cloth and blood-splattered crosses. Where the hell is he?! Glancing around frantically, he took a step forward...and looked down as lukewarm liquid splashed around his feet.
Horrified, he backed away from the sickening visage of glassy soulless cerulean blue eyes.
Edging cautiously along the ledge against the crumbling brick wall, Youji impatiently shook the haunting image from his mind. He gritted his teeth and continued the strenuous task of slipping through the guard of the fortified warehouse unnoticed. What's funny is that the dream keeps repeating over and over...and all those times, there's always those blue eyes... Vaguely, Youji passed a hand over his eyes, sighing inwardly. Damn...I can't keep my concentration... Youji scowled silently as his footing slipped slightly in scaling the enormous wall. For a few moments, he concentrated on the summit of the wall and tried to measure it with his eye.
Omi's soft voice startled him as the young assassin said urgently into his earpiece, "Bombay to Balinese, we're running out of time...you need to get up here, quickly!"
Narrowing his eyes, Youji grabbed a protruding brick some distance up from the ledge, trying to ignore how silky and close Omi's voice sounded... "I'm hurrying...you don't need to remind me," he replied curtly. Tossing his wire up over the height of the wall, Youji maneuvered it with the skill of an expert until it caught. He tugged it experimentally before gingerly placing a foot alongside the wall and climbing up along the wall. Youji felt a sharp pang in his chest as Omi's voice came over, sounding hurt and put off, "Fine...I won't care, then."
Youji grimaced and shook off the nagging need to apologize, He cared...? He sighed and tried to concentrate on the daunting task of ascending the steep wall. Once at the top, Youji pulled up the wire and coiled it about his arm. Looking along the wall, he spotted Omi typing rapidly on his laptop, which was plugged into the power box at a terminal. "Bombay," Youji said tentatively into his microphone.
"Eh?" Omi looked up and smiled quickly before ducking his head and returning to his computations. "Are we in yet?" Youji asked in a low voice, glancing around cautiously. Omi shook his head and quickened the pace of his typing, "No. But Abyssinian and Siberian have gotten past the guards. I'm going to need at least 5 to 10 minutes maximum to break completely past the security system of the main computer here..."
Youji glanced concernedly up at the silver full moon shining its exuberant light upon them like an enormous flashlight. "We don't have 5 or 10 minutes, Bombay." Omi shrugged uncomfortably, a frown of concentration flitting across his expression. He quickened the rapidity of his typing to an inhuman speed, "We're going to have to make time, then." Omi said quietly with drastic finality. Youji blinked then drawled softly into the microphone, "so this is important?"
Omi looked up, an incredulous expression on his face, "Yes, it is." Youji was going to press the subject further, but then abruptly, they both heard the sharp sudden cracks in the distance of guns going off. Youji swore under his breath and uncoiled his wire.
"Bombay, are you almost done?!" Omi shook his head at Ken's apprehensive question.
"Not yet, Siberian. I'm at 24 percent right now."
Youji took a deep breath and growled as loudly as he dared in the torpid silence of the night, "Well, hurry the fuck up, then!!?" His vehement comment was cut short as a bullet whistled by his shoulder. "shit!!" Youji let his wire fly out towards the direction of his assailant. Omi shoved his laptop against the terminal of the wall and grabbed his crossbow, aiming at one of the several attackers that were moving in their direction. "45 percent," he said hoarsely into his microphone, as he let loose an arrow.
One of the assailants reached to knock Omi's laptop over, and the golden-haired boy lunged for him, meeting the man halfway. Youji's head snapped in Omi's direction as he heard a scream of pain. His emerald eyes widened in horror as he saw Omi being thrown over the side of the wall for a four hundred foot drop...
