Each of these poems is written by the voice of a character... I'd have doe something more introspective for Lina and Gourry, but I they're just not the types.
Little Miss Justice champions her cause
by perching on rocks and enforcing the laws
  She leaps without a look
  and goes after the crook
unaware that her idea of justice has flaws
Father, my father, do you feel betrayed
that my heart wants to smile through its tears,
despite the mess that his companions made
and the dark awakening of our oldest fears?
In the light of his sword my dream can shine
that this evil will be driven away
so he and I can rebuild our shrine
and say the words we have yet to say?
Father, my father, is this feeling right?
But ever since I met him my heart just knew
He's the one I want, and I'll help him fight
Even if he is with her, and I've lost you
I stared at your hostile eyes
nestled in the blue rocks of your skin
and felt trust instead of fear
  I didn't think before I spoke
the words fled out so fast
  I didn't think you'd hear
Were you hurt by what I said?
  I never thought to ask
if my words cut through stone
I wish I could take them back
and say others in their place
words I dream of when I'm alone
I'm not even sure what I'd say
I trust you but I'm still afraid?
Afraid that you don't feel the same
I guess the others would laugh if they knew
all I can think about is justice and you
What did I do to win her heart?
perhaps its my penance, a way to atone
she can't really love me with this face of stone
She'll be like anyone else I've ever met
when she learns what I am within
more stone in my heart than on my skin
In the end I'm still Rezzo's little joke
not human, not beast and not meant for love
what in the world is she thinking of?
She's clings like moss on a rock
all innoncence and sweet as ice cream
and lost in her own rose-drenched dream
Why can't she see me for what I am?
I'm some kind of hero in her mind
I'd tell her but I don't want to be unkind
She's just got a crush, its no big deal
but sometimes, I wonder if that feeling is real?
She's a child til you look in her eyes
The color of fire and full of adventure
  I couldn't look away
She says she wants my sword of light
but as long as I can come along
I don't mind going her way
  She's someone you can't ignore
and I belong by her side
for as long as she lets me stay
