He tighten his knuckles as they kissed. Anger, jealousy, hatred filled his heart. But why? He shook his head and turned back to the city. For, the longer he stayed there watching them... the more he felt like killing him.
Firia opened the window of her room and gazed to the winkling stars on the blue black sky. She was about ready to go to sleep. She sat on the window ledge as she remembered the incident. She couldn't help but smile when she thought about it. Idiot Mazoku. She cursed silently. It was weird though. So wrong yet so right. Aarrggh! How could she do this to herself!! Firia smacked herself on her head. I let him get his way!! She found herself sighed. Now she was confused. Mazoku no baka. Making me feel this way. She heard the insects gleefully sang the song of the night, the blowing of the soft breeze through her hair.
The silent of night was broken by the sounds of a swish, swoosh then a tip tap on the roof above her head. Firia was stoned for a while. Suddenly a dark figure leaped into her room and stood in front of her. The cape flow with the breeze. Firia couldn't see the mysterious stranger as it was dark. Damn, my mace is in the closet.
"Who are you?!" She asked, frowning. No answer. But it came closer. "What do you want?!" Firia questioned, again. She couldn't step back as she would fall backwards from her first floor room and hit the ground. "If you dare to-" Her words were cut off as a pair of hands seized her. one grabbing her waist, the other tipped her chin as the figure planted a kiss on her. Firia eyes widen as she knew who she was kissing..
"Zelgadiss!"
"No, this is so, so wrong," Firia said as she gently pushes him away. Zelgadiss stepped back. Firia's face was getting hotter, not because she had any feelings for him but it felt so wrong, so very wrong. Had she forgotten what happened that evening?
"Look, It wasn't suppossed to be that way." Zelgadiss apologized as he sweep his hood back. "I'm sorry,"
"I saw you and that mazoku this afternoon," He said quietly. Firia bit her lips trying to reply something rational.
"You saw me? Us?" She asked uncertainly. He nods as he looks away. Firia bits her lips. "I..uh..we.." Firia stammered. What is she going to say?
Zelgadiss sighed as he sunk into a chair.
"Zelgadiss, I'm sorry. I can't..I mean.. I didn't know you had feelings.. for me.." Firia looked down. "But I can't.. Zelgadiss... Gomen,"
He sat down at the window ledge and looked up to her. "I'm sorry for what I did just now. It was plain stupid of me to just do that. But it's something I've been wanting to do for a very long time."
"I - " Firia began but Zelgadiss placed his fingers on her lips.
"I came here to tell you my feelings... but then I saw Xelloss and you. Damn it. What does he have that I don't?" Zelgadiss continued. "You have feelings for him, eh?"
"Zel, when I have feelings for him, that's when Lina will give up a 10-course meal," Firia joked. Zelgadiss grinned. "He's a Mazoku, Zel." Firia said seriously.
"I can see him in your eyes. You don't have to lie to me, Firia," Zelgadiss replied looking out the stars.
"Zel, you are my friend. And I guess that's all we are going to be." Firia gently told him. "Maybe.. someday ... but not now.." Filia look straight into Zelgadiss's sorrowful eyes. "I'm terribly sorry."
"No," he protested softly as he placed his hands on hers. "It's not your fault. It's mine. I should've known." He let go of her hands as he stood up. With that he jumped out of the window. Firia runs over to the window and saw the caped figure walked back to the hotel yard.
Atop a roof of another opposite inn, stood a dark figure holding a staff staring at her.
