Meanwhile..back at the ranch Lina is arguing with Zel. "You honestly think that we should just jump in there and announce to Zelas that you want to become mazoku?? Are you NUTS?!!"
"Whats the matter with that plan, Zelgadiss? I do not get it! It makes perfect sense to me!" Lina screamed back into Zelgadiss' face.
Gourry appeared out of nowhere to agree with Lina. "It makes sense to me, too!" He said with a big grin. Amelia and Martina looked at Gourry with shock.
"When does ANYTHING make sense to you Gourry??" Amelia asked.
"Uh..I dunno, but that somehow made sense to me." Zelgadiss turned and looked at everyone else, "what do you guys think?? Does it make sense to you?"
Amelia looks at Zel and says "Well how else are we going to find out what Zelas with is up to."
Zel has an angry look on his face and says "That is not the point Lina will be risking her life to find Zelas plan."
"I don't think she should."
Lina turns to Zel "Look Zel I have been in through worse than this."
"I came out fine." Garv who has not said a word speaks up "Lina is right this is the only way."
"We have to go for it." Lina looks at Garv "I am glad that you are behind on this." He nods in agreement. Gourry speaks up "So what do we do now?"
"Well, under normal circumstances I would say that we just wait for Xellos to show up and drop some hints with him," Lina said. "But we haven't seem him since falling into that hole."
"But that just leaves," Amelia started. "Going to Wolf Pack Island."
Zelgadis nodded glumly. "Does this still sound like a good idea?"
"When they're the only idea, they're good ideas." Lina muttered irritably.
"They are not that great when they come in hordes either," Gourry said.
"Since when do you get ideas, Gourry?" Martina asked snidely to herself, tired of being ignored.
"Well I once had this idea that everything is relative, but I couldn't figure it out what that meant." Everybody took a moment to look at Gourry and blink.
"Oh-kaaay," Lina said, recovering. "On to Wolf Pack Island, and since its really only Gav and me that need to go."
"Now hold it, Lina," Gourry interrupted. "You're not going off on your own on this."
"But I'm not alone, Garv is going to be with me."
"I think the rest of us agree with Gourry-san," Amelia said. "We're all coming with you."
"WHAT? No you are not! I am not risking your life along with mine. You have to try to find Xellos, Filia and where the hell the brat went. That's what you have to do." Lina said, frustrated because they would not obey her.
"But, Lina-sama, we don't want anything to happen to you, either!!" Amelia cried out. Zelgadiss looked between the determined face of Lina, and the tear-drenched one of Amelia.
"Amelia, I think that this time..and only this time.." He said with a pointed look at the already gloating Lina, "that we should let Lina have her way and split up, she should be fine with Garv to help protect her."
Amelia looked at Zelgadiss for a moment before nodding slowly in agreement. "If you are certain Zelgadiss-san." Amelia said shakily. Amelia, Zelgadiss, Gourry(looking confused about what was going on), and Martina set out in one direction, Amelia looking back sadly. Lina and Garv stood for a moment, waiting for them to get farther away before they left.
Lina sighed, "I am going to miss them, but its safer, ne?" She looked up at Garv questioningly. Garv looked down at Lina and smiled a little. "Yeah...they will be alright, I think."
While Lina and Garv are walking little did they know that Phibrizzo was watching them. He could not figure out why it was just Lina and Garv. Anyway he knew he had to stop them. While Phibrizzo was fixing to attack Lina and Garv the other Slayers were off to look for Xelloss. Gourry speaks up "I hope Lina is going to be all right with Garv."
Zel looks at Gourry and could see the pain in his eyes. He puts a hand on Gourry's shoulder "She will be fine she can take herself you know."
Gourry looks at Zel "Thanks you are right." Amelia and Martina turn around to see the two of them talking. Amelia yells at them "Come on you guys we have to get going or we will never find Xelloss just standing around.
"Why are we looking for Xellos," Amelia asked as Lina and Garv vanished from sight.
"Because he hasn't shown himself yet," Zelgadis answered.
"Whatever Zelas has him doing could be the most dangerous thing for us at the moment."
"Besides, I STILL haven't punished him for playing with my poor innocent heart."
"I don't believe that innocent should be used to revert someone who is seeking to conquer the world in the name of a made up monster." Gourry said shortly before a REALLY big and ugly Zomalgustar brooch smashed into his head.
"WHY AM I HERE AGAIN!?!" Zelgadis and Amelia shook their heads in frustration.
"This is going to be a long trip isn't it Zelgadis-san."
"I'd say that speaks for itself."
Dolphin smiled. "I like her, she's funny."
Elsewhere Phibrizzo watched as Lina and Garv prepared for attempting to con Zelas. "So Lina plans to fool Zelas into thinking she wants to be a mazoku." He smiled and then frowned. "Zelas will tear them apart as soon as they show themselves, she won't risk Xellos for that. Still Lina is powerful enough to be a threat on her own, and Garv is more so," Phibrizzo said. "I can't risk facing them myself, but..." Phibrizzo giggled as he formed a shadow from one of his captive souls.
"Did you feel that?" Lina hissed, interrupting their planning. Garv scanned about and stepped in front of the sorceress. "Phibrizzo is pulling something, keep back."
"Since when did you get all protective, I can take care of..."
"Lina-san, is that you?" A figure stumbled out of the trees and then recovered her dignity and poise. "Filia?" Lina asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Lina what are you..." Filia paused a moment in speaking, grimacing a little. "Doing here with this Namagomi." Phibrizzo frowned, living souls were so much harder to control, but he wouldn't let her come that close again.
Zelgadiss was looking at the group when he noticed something. Something was missing. "Where's Rezo!?" The others glanced around, mumbling. They couldn't find him. Where could he be? Zel cursed. "He was probably a spy! He left us!!! Bastard!"
Amelia chided Zel. "But he changed you back!"
"So!? He tricked us all!" Suddenly, Rezo appeared from behind them, bonking Zel on the head with his staff. Zel cried out. "OWWW!!! What was that for!? You... you... @#@$%#@$%!@#!@#!@#!!!!!!!"
Zel cursed in a language that was almost as colorful as Garv's. It shocked everyone. Zel, realizing that he was out of character, composed himself, and returned to normal. "What was that for, Rezo!?"
Rezo chided Zel. "I can't believe that I being blind have to tell you that we're going the wrong way."
Zel sweatdropped. "Huh!? What do you mean, wrong way!?"
"There was a fork in the road not awhile ago... We went the wrong way... Now we're heading toward the 'Forest of No Return.'"
"Forest of no return? What kind of stupid name is that!??" Suddenly, it became dark, and they seemed to be in a forest, but there seemed to be no way out or in. "Umm..WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US REZO?!!" yelled Zelgadiss, leaning in toward Rezo, his breath hot on Rezo's face.
Rezo, being blind has a keener sense of smell, and backs away quickly, "Onions for lunch Zelgadiss?" Rezo asked mockingly. Amelia quickly smothered her laugh. Amelia's laugh was cut short when she heard a noise behind her and saw 6 goblins crawling out of the foliage.
Zelgadiss sighed and pulled out his sword, "ASTRAL VINE!" he called out.
Gourry also pulled out his sword, "Light come forth!" and Amelia prepared a spell. At this point, Rezo stepped forward, chanted a few words and struck down his staff to the ground twice. The goblins disappeared and the three others turned to look at Rezo in shock. He just smiled and shrugged. They continued on their way down the dark path, continuously going in a circle.
"WHERE THE HELL ARE WE?!!" Gourry yelled all of a sudden. "I'm so sick of this one sign that we keep passing that says, "TURN LEFT TO EXIT" !!"
Everyone sweatdropped. "Ano..Gourry, maybe you should have..TOLD US SOONER??!!" Amelia said, exasperated.
Zel goes over to Gourry and hits in the head and says "Next time tell us you Jelly-Fish brain."
Everyone turns to look at Zel and Amelia speaks up "Zelgadis you sounded liked Lina just then."
He looks at her and says "Well someone has to fill in for her while she is not here." Gourry who is shaking off the hit that Zel laid upon him asks "I sure hope Lina is okay."
Meanwhile Lina and Garv were continuing on their way to find Zelas. Lina looks to Garv and says "I hope the other are having better luck at finding Xelloss." Lina notices that he was not paying attention to her slaps him "Hey listen to me when I am talking to you."
Garv looks down at her "What about her?" he asks.
Lina notices that he is pointing at Filia. Lina looks at Filia and says "Yes what are you doing here anyway Filia and how did you find us?"
Filia looks at her and says "Well what are you doing with him?" Lina who already angry yells at her "I ask you first so tell me why you are here."
"Really, Lina-san, two dark lords and the red priest being resurrected?" Filia says. "Certainly this is part of some prophecy somewhere."
"Then you have some idea of..."
"I just haven't figured out which one yet." Garv and Lina face faulted.
"But what about the little rugrat?" Lina asked upon recovering.
"Sylphiel agreed to keep an eye on him for a little while. Now perhaps you can humor me by explaining what you are doing with one of those resurrected dark lords." Filia crossed her arms and tapped her foot.
"You say that like its our choice," Lina says.
"Yes, I normally choose allies that are a little more...normal."
"That would explain Dolphin." Lina says dryly. Garv and Filia looked over Lina for a moment.
"What are you two looking at me like that for?"
"I'm trying to decide which of you and Dolphin is the most naturally chaotic and dest..." Lina whapped Garv over the head.
"Why is it everybody compares me to forces of destruction and not beauty stuff?"
Garv blinked. "There's a difference?"
Lina yelled and jumped up and down. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, "There's a difference?"!?!?!?! I'LL DRAGONSLAVE YOUR BUTT, YOU BIG... MAZOKU... THING!!!"
Garv sweatdropped. "Big Mazoku thing???"
"I'm not very creative at this moment, so there."
"Lina-san! I'll help you destroy this namagomi!!!"
Lina sweatdropped. "'Destroy'? Uhh... Filia, we don't necessarily have to do that... do we?"
"Mazoku are all the same!!!" Filia pulled a cleaver out of nowhere.
"Hey, Filia... where's your mace?"
"What mace?"
"What do you mean, 'What mace?'!?" Suddenly, Garv noticed something sitting in the trees, watching them. It was Phibrizo!
