Amelia, still frightened from her race, says shakenly, " well, I happened across them talking about how Phibrizzo had it all planned out and they wanted us all dead and out of his way."
The group nods, and Lina gently prods, "What happened then?"
Amelia swallows, " Then I must have made some noise when I was trying to get back to warn you guys because then Phibrizzo heard me and chased me all over! I barely escaped alive."
Garv looks at the group, "I think its time we showed him how to take over this game. He is just one piece of the chess game, and I'm after the queen."
Lina looks to Garv and nods in agreement. She then turns to Amelia and says "Why did Phibrizzo want us all dead anyway?"
Zel looks Amelia nad says "I am glad you are alright at least we found you." Zel is really upset as to what happen to Amelia and turns to Lina and says "That Phibrizzo is going to pay."
Lina nods "You are right about that."
"So Garv what is the plan."
Garv thinks about it for awhile. "Hmmm....I say that we try to find him first, then find out what his plan is!"
The group sweatdrops. "EVERYONE DOES THAT!!" Lina yells. "We have to be more original than that Garv, if we want to get him to spill his plan."
The group thinks it over. "I think that one of us should "join" up with him and become part of the plan. That person should be you Garv!! You were a monster once, and you want to see Lina dead!" Zel rationalized. Garv who is rather shocked to hear this looks at Zel and says "You know that might just work I could join up with him and then somehow let you guys what his plans are.
Lina looks at Zel and says "Can I have a word with you for a moment please."
Zel goes with Lina to the other room. "Look Zel can we trust Garv."
"I mean he did try to kill us remember that."
"Yes, but he has always hated Phibrizzo, but maybe he can prove to the brat that he hates you more, and is willing to help him out." Zel explained.
Lina nodded, but added, "That doesn't mean that we can trust him! What if he ends up REALLY helping him?? Then what?"
Zel looks at Lina "Well right now we have no other choice but to trust Garv." Lina nods in agreement with him. They go back out to where the others are waiting. Lina goes to Garv and says "Okay I will go along with this it is the only chance we have to find out what Phibrizzo is up to."
Gourry looks confused and asks "Hey Lina what is going on anyway."
Lina turns to look at Gourry. "HONESTLY! when will you keep ONE thought in your head??" Gourry continues to look confused. Lina runs her hands through her hair as she explains, " Well, Garv is going to side with Phibrizzo to find out whats going on."
Gourry nods, finally understanding. "Ok, the first step is TALKING to Phibrizzo, ne?" Zel asked.
Amelia speaks up for the first time, "Well, I can explain where he and Zelas were last time."
"Good idea!" Exclaimed Lina, "let's go." So they set off to where Phibrizzo and Zelas were last seen talking when Amelia spot them. Gourry who is still trying to figure out what is going on.
Garv looks at Lina and says "I know what you are thinking." Lina looks somewhat confused. Garv then says "You are probably thinking if you can trust me or not am I right."
Lina nods "Well can you blame me after all you did try to kill the last time we met."
Garv says "Of course I don't blame you at all."
"You can trust me I want to get the both of them." Lina nods, and considers what he says.
"Please contact us immediately if you find out something. Just do an ordinary thing...light a candle and leave in the window if you don't have any information. When you get nformation, don't light the candle. We will find a way to get in to you without much notice."
Garv nods, agreeing to the plan. "Here we are! The place where I found them was about 20 yards ahead. I don't want to get too close." Amelia explained.
Lina turns to Garv and says "All right go on ahead and be careful." Garv nods and continues on while Lina and the others watch.
Gourry speaks up "Hey Lina!"
"Why are we not following him?" Lina looks at Gourry and says "Do you ever pay attention at all?"
Zel watches Lina beating up on Gourry. "Will you two knock it off we need to be finding a way to sneak in to where Phibrizzo and Zelas are." Zel says.
Lina nods "Okay we will wait for nightfall so for right now lets rest here." The group settled down for the night. Lina kept a lookout for the candle that Garv was supposed to light for them. Once she saw the light, she sighed, relieved and feel asleep. Zel was the first to guard the group. He was aware of every noise and heard a rustle in the bushes. "what the heck?" he thought. As he went to investigate, he was suprised to hear some murmuring, and then a girl appeared.
"Martina!" Zel gasped. "Martina! What are you doing here anyway?" Zel asked. Meanwhile Lina woke up to and went to where Zel was.
"Zel can you be quite some us are trying to sleep." Lina said. After she said that she noticed Martina. "What the heck are you doing here Martina?"
"How did you find us anyway?" Everyone woke up and was shocked to see Martina there.
"I don't know what happened! One moment I was talking to Zangulus, and the next thing I know, I'm walking through the bushes toward the fire." Martina exclaimed. "So, where am I and what are all of you guys doing here??"
Zel pulled her aside and explained everything that had happened so far. "Why did they bring her HERE?" Lina asked Amelia. Frustrated, Lina walked around, wondering what to do.
"Well, at least its one more person on our side, Lina!" Gourry said. Lina glanced up at the window she had been watching and noticed that the candle was no longer burning. "ZEL! The candle is not in the window any longer! We have to get in there!!"
"Okay Lina then lets get going." Zel answered. They begin to make there to where Garv is.
"Everyone be quite we don't want to be noticed by anyone." Lina said. Martina was still trying to figure out what was going shouted out "Wait for me Lina."
Lina a little upset goes to Martina and hits "What did I just say be quite."
Zel notices that someone has spotted them. "Quick everyone hide." Zel yells at them. The group scatters quickly. Zel and Lina ran in one direction, with Martina, Amelia, and Gourry in another direction. Around the corner came two Mazoku.
"Where are you, Lina Inverse? We know you are out here!" one called out. After only hearing its own echo, it continued down the path. Lina and Zel began to head towards where Garv was.
"Zel," Lina whispered, " We have to try to make it there, they will come after us as soon as the Mazoku passes." Zel nodded, and by using Raywing, they were able to get into a window high above where the guards were standing. Upon entering the room, Zel and Lina looked around, seeing only darkness and a few familiar shapes.
"This room is like a maze." Zel stated, winding his way towards the door. They were only several feet from the door when they heard the doorknob begin to turn.
"Quick Zel hide." Lina whispered. The door open and in came Garv. He could tell someone was in the room.
"Okay who ever is in here come out now." Garv said. Lina and Zel came out of hiding. "Good its you I thought it might have Phibrizzo." Lina said. Garv looks around and notices that Gourry and Amelia are missing. "Lina where are the others." Garv asked.
"We got separated when two mazoku appeared out of nowhere. And now Martina is here! Do you know who did that?" Lina asked. Garv looked shocked that Martina was there.
"Martina??" Garv asked, trying to comprehend.
"Yes, Martina! She said she was with Zangulus one second, and in this world the next. Do you think it was Phibrizzo?" Zel inquired.
"It could have been the little brat, I guess. But I don't think he woul dbering her here unless he figured she could slow Lina down or something." The group thought about who could have done if for a couple minutes.
"Maybe...just maybe it was Zelas." Zel pondered. Garv looks at Zel and then says "You know you could be right about that."
"Why would Zelas bring Martina here?" Zel has a confused looked on his face. Lina then speaks up "What about Gourry, Amelia and Martina they are still out there we have to get them in here."
Zel and Garv nod in agreement. "How are we going to do that Lina?" Zel asked.
Lina walks to the window and looks out. Seeing three shadows quickly heading in the direction of where they were, Lina flew down to them. Lina said nothing, but flew with Gourry back up to the window. Gourry began to flail and almost cried out until he saw the expression on Lina's face. Lina landed just inside the window, with Amelia and Martina close behind. "Well, whats the plan guys?" Amelia asked.
Lina looks to Garv and says "Yes what is the plan anyway."
Garv looks at her "First off you guys need to be quite and hide somewhere because Phibrizzo is suppose to come talk with me and if he finds you guys here who knows what might happen." Lina looks at Garv and says "Well before we hide do you have anything to eat?" Everyone facefaults.
Zel gets up and says "Lina this is no time to be thinking about food." After he said that there was a knock at the door. Before Garv opened the door, the group fled through the connecting door, to another room. They stayed close to the door to be able to hear what was happening in the other room.
"Enter." Garv called out, settling himself into a chair. Phibrizzo enters the room.
"Ha ha ha!! I think we can get Lina and her friends in here tonight. I sent out over 50 mazoku to track them down. They can't defeat all of them!!" Phibrizzo proudly states.
"Well, you certainly have all your bases covered. What are you going to do with them when you finally get your hands on them?" Garv asked
"I am not going to tell you yet." Phibrizzo says laughing. Garv looks at him
"What do you mean by that?" Phibrizzo answers
"First of all I don't trust you."
"You may betrayed me again like you did before." Garv looks a little confused.
"So what do you want me to do then to prove myself to you." Garv asks Phibrizzo. Phibrizzo laughs at Garv. "What a typical question. Well, what can you do? You can... kill the auntie aqua look-a-like I had sent here."
Garv nodded, and went in search of her. Phibrizzo remained in the room. "Well, that will take care of him, I think. She's stronger than he will ever be. Now, to find Lina and her pesky friends."The group is in shock.
"So," Zel began, "he never planned on having him help at all. Well, we better go after him so he doesn't die."
"Yes I believe you are right Zel." Lina says.
Gourry has a confused look and says "What are we doing now Lina?" Lina is upset now that Phibrizzo is not going to use Garv goes over to him and says "Gourry we are going after Garv now."
Zel turns to the window and notices that Garv is leaving in search of the Auntie Aqua. "Hey Lina we better get going." Zel says.
Lina and says "All right then lets go." Lina grabs Gourry and gets ready to use the Raywing before she could. The door began to open.
