At that point, it was too late... Phibrizzo had already noticed Garv's bright red hair, and teleported over. "Ha! Did you guys think that you could get away from me so easily?" Phibrizzo laughed again, further inciting Garv's anger.
"You little BRAT!!! What were you planning to do once you killed us??" Garv yelled in Phibrizzo's face, spitting as he spoke, his anger causing a red glow to be cast around him. Lina attempted to separate him from the laughing kid. She pulled on his arm to no avail. Lina decided it was time to get that little kid in some serious pain.
"Zel! Hey! Listen up, I've got a plan. Last time we fought him, two dragonslaves hurt him... lets try it again! To see what happens."
Zel nodded, "But who else knows Dragon Slave??" Lina looked at him as if he was stupid.
"Who ELSE, baka??! Garv! We need to get him away from Phibrizzo, so that we can cast the spell! Distract Phibrizzo somehow, and get Garv over here, so I can talk it over with him!"
Zel nodded again, and went to speak with Garv. "Distract Phibrizzo?" Zelgaddis repeated. "How does she expect me to do that?" He thought about it for a moment. "I was wondering," he said loudly. "Why is it that you ALWAYS look like a kid? I mean for fooling opponents its great, but doesn't it impact on your social life at all?"
"What about my 'social life' as you call it?"
"Well it just seems that most of you mazoku are rather ....randy little fruitcakes," Zelgadis blushed as he continued trying not watch everybody staring at him in surprise. "And I don't see how you could get anywhere in that form."
"What are you talking about?"
"So if you just stay in that form all the time, you must this mass of sexually frustrated emotions."
"You're one to talk, you overly proper blue-stoned freak."
"Hmm....is that the best insult you can up with? I hope not, after all you have thousands of years of experience in matters such as this and only have three or four years of traveling with Lina."
Lina shook herself clear of the shock and started edging over to Garv, trying to avoid Phibrizzo's sight. "If I hadn't heard it with my own ears....."
"Hey, Garv."
"I always thought he was the shy one." Amelia and the others were just, dumbfounded and Phibrizzo was doing his best to come up with a half-way decent insult. "Garv."
"What brought this on any way, I was just about to kill him."
"Garv!"
"This is rather odd." Lina reached up and snatched the lapels of his trench coat and dragged him down. "
Are you going to listen to me now....or do I have to shout loud enough for the hellbrat to hear?"
"All right Lina you have my attention now." Garv says. Phibrizzo notices that Lina really wants to talk about Garv about something. Garv turns around to talk to Lina. Meanwhile Zel goes over to Phbrizzo to distract him away from Garv and Lina. Lina tells Garv the plan "We need to use a double dragon slave on him it will hurt him."
"How do you know this Lina?" Garv asks.
"Well the last time we fought him it did so I thought it me and you use the dragon slave we may just beat him. While Garv and Lina are talking Zel is trying to keep Phibrizzo attention. Phibrizzo figures out what is going on and says "So you are trying to distract me aren't you."
Zelgadiss looks at Phibrizzo shocked. "What makes you say that? I was asking a legitimate question! Why don't you answer it? Why the kiddy disguise?" Phibrizzo glares at Zelgadiss once again.
"I'm serious stone boy..I'm going to hurt you real soon, and no one here is going to stop me!!" Phibrizzo boasted. While they bickered, Garv and Lina quickly outlined their plans on how they were going to strike at Phibrizzo. They quietly and quickly separated to separate parts of the group and waved at Zelgadiss who quickly backed away, while continuing to argue his point with Lina began the spell, chanting the well known spell under her breath, not allowing anyone to hear her. Meanwhile Garv did the same thing on the other side of the group of people. Simultaneously, their spells were cast and sent spiraling towards Phibrizzo. Hope shined in Lina's eyes..hope that this would be the end of their crazy journey. Noticing the sudden the difference that the chimera and the rest of group were keeping from him, Phibrizzo whirled to face Garv and Lina as the flash of scarlet light began spiraling toward him. "Oh no not again." he thought as the blasts, spiraled together into one tremendous blast. Then everything vanished into darkness.
As the debris settled and the dust cleared the slayers found themselves looking at a new, if small, canyon slashed into ground by the force of the spell. "Well, is he dead?" Lina asked.
"I don't see him anywhere Lina-san." Amelia noted.
"But I couldn't really see much of anything at the time."
"Well he got hit by a double dragon slave, with no shield up this time." Gourry noted
"Hey, you remember that Gourry?"
"Remember what?" he looked around. "And how did we get here?"
"Never mind," Lina sighed. "I guess we got him."
Elsewhere.
"Cutting it a little close, aren't we?" Phibrizzo asked Zelas. "A little hesitant perhaps."
"I am going to kill you." the Beastmaster promised.
"But not before I tell you where your priest is, correct, can't get past the shielding can you." Zelas snarled. "Funny, how very much like you your son is. Capture a certain dragon and convince him to lure Lina and company to a certain magical site, and then turn around capture him to recruit you." he smiled evily. "Mazoku and dragons have strong life forces you know....they should both last quite a..."
"I really don't care much about the dragon."
Phibrizzo smiled. "You don't have to, as long as he does. And you know my death won't stop the spell this time, I do learn from my mistakes."
Meanwhile Lina and the others are still wondering if they actually got rid of Phibrizzo. Garv looks at Lina and says "I don't think we got him."
Lina is shocked to hear this from Garv and says "What are you talking there is no way he could have survived that." Just after she said that Phibrizzo appears. Lina is shocked that she is speechless.
Zel couldn't believe it and asks "How did you survived that anyway?"
"You didn't have enough time to defend against that attack." Phibrizzo didn't answer he just stood there laughing at the slayers. Lina finally comes out of shock. "Hey Hellbrat!"
"Tell me how you got away from that attack." Lina says.
He looks at her and says "That is a secret." Lina sighed frustratingly at Phibrizzo and turned her back on him and looked questioningly at Garv. Garv, in return shrugged helplessly. Zel turned to look at Phibrizzo, "Come on, give! I want to know!!"
Phibrizzo looked at Zel mockingly and laughed in his face, refusing to answer. Out of nowhere a voice spoke, "I'll be happy to be of some service."
"Who..where??" cried the Slayers team. Garv smiled a bit and waited for the cloaked figure to appear. Phibrizzo also had the same puzzling reaction to the voice. who could it be? wondered Lina.
Lina yells at the figure "Show yourself now." The figure comes to where everyone can see. Garv has a huge smile on his face when he sees the figure. Lina asks him "You know this cloaked figure." Garv answers "Yes this is Dauphlin."
Lina facefaulted. Lina gets up and looks at Garv "You mean another mazoku."
Garv looks at her "She is here to help."
"How can you be certain?!?" Lina yelled in Garv's face, stretching as high as her short frame could reach.
Daulphin took that time to laugh huskily and move closer to Garv. "I have known him for a long time, and I owe him one. I'm more than happy to help out here."
Phibrizzo was suprised that Daulphin wasn't siding with him. "What do you think you are doing, Daulphin? Helping that piece of trash?!"
Daulphin turned quickly, her eyes bright with anger. "WHAT? Are you telling me that I am STUPID? That I don't know what I am doing? How dare you call him apiece of trash you little bastard!" Daulphin teleported over to give Phibrizzo a little bit of pain before teleporting back, Phibrizzo left suprised as he saw some blood appear on his face. He looked up angrily and swore repeatedly. Amelia's eyes opened wide and she began to say something when Zelgadiss touched her arm. She looked up at him questioningly and he shook his head, silently telling her to be quiet.
Lina look shocked to see that Dauphlin had actually injured Phibrizzo. She turns to Garv and says "I guess you were right she is here to help out."
Zel speaks up "Look Garv what kind of favor does she owe you for anyway."
"I want to know if we can trust her or not she may have hurt Phibrizzo but I still do not trust her." He then turns to Lina and says "Do you trust her?"
Lina takes Zel asides to talk to him. "Look Zel we have to trust her for now and I mean she did get rid of Phibrizzo."
Zel is still satisfied with that kind of answer and says "Well I still don't trust her but I guess I will have to go along with this." Lina nodded encouragingly at Zel and then turned her attention to Daulphin.
"Daulphin, what can you do about Phibrizzo? Do you really have the power to defeat him?" Garv and Daulphin laughed together as Phibrizzo continued to look uncomfortable.
"Alone, no. But with the help of your friend Garv here, we should be able to take care of him." She said in her husky voice. Once Phibrizzo was certain that Daulphin was going to help Garv kill him, he tried to call for help to Zelas, pleading that she get him out of here before anything bad could happen. Phibrizzo looked around for a place he could run to, but nothing was in site except for a couple trees and the smashed cave. He attempted to teleport out, but realized that when Daulphin had hit him, she had also done something to him to keep him in place. He closed his eyes when he noticed that Garv and Daulphin were advancing upon him. He asked for Zelas one last time, hoping that she would answer his summons.
