Episode 1: What!? She's Zelgadis's Sister!

Lina: (voice over) Well here we are once more searching for more magic and, of course, the occasional treasure. Well, at least I am, Gourry is coming along merely because there isn't much work for a mercenary who, for some stupid reason, just happens to have the Sword of Light. Zelgadis, on the other hand, is still searching for a cure. And as for Princess Amelia Wil Tessla de Seruun, well let's just say that where the great Blue One goes she follows, whether he wants her to or not.

Amelia: (worried) Mr. Zelgadis?

Zelgadis: (annoyed) What?

Amelia: Did you here that?

Zel: Hear what?

Amelia: That.

Lina: Amelia, what is your problem, NOW!?

Zel: She's hearing things.

Amelia: I'm not, Miss. Lina, really!

This time everyone heard it. It being the sounds of someone being chased.

Lina: Quick! In those bushes.

Lina dives into the bushes dragging a still clueless Gourry, Zel and Amelia rush through just as a young woman runs into the clearing recently vacated by Lina and co. And hot on her heels is none other that Dilgear the troll/werewolf who only just recently was fighting Zelgadis and Lina. Her shoulder-length dark purple hair swirls around her head as she whips around to face her pursuer.

Dilgear: Miss. Aurilia, return home now and I won't hurt you.

Aurilia: No! You tell my grandfather I'm not coming home until I find my brother.

Dilgear: Well then I guess I'll just have to bring you home by force.

Aurilia: (patronizing sweetly) No, I don't think you can, you don't have the guts or skill.

Dilgear: Arargh! That's it! Get her!

With that about 20 of the meanest, ugliest trolls emerge from the surrounding foliage.

Aurilia: Trolls? Dilgear, for shame, I thought you could do a lot better than trolls. Source of all power, Wind which blows to the East...Flare Arrow!

Lina: (to Zel) That flare arrow looks exactly like yours Zel. Did you two have the same teacher?

Zel: I've never seen her before, ever. Though that hair...(thinking) Could Rezo have a daughter? She seems old enough.

The trolls surround Aurilia and try to subdue her, but somehow she works her way through the writhing, grasping mass of trolls. After she puts several meters in-between them she whistles.

Aurilia: Over here boys!

Then she raises her hand over her head and a ball of light forms in it as she chants: Earth below me, Submit to my Will!

At that she slams her hand on the ground and shouts: Stone Spiker!

After the dust settles the only two that still stand are Dilgear and Aurilia.

Zel: Holy Hell! Now that's just not possible. I don't even want to know.

Lina: Zel, what do you mean?

Zel: Well, never mind. It's just, well, weird.

Lina: How do you mean "weird"? I need info, Zelgadis.

Gourry: What are you two talking about? Magic isn't weird.

Zel: No info, I'm sorry.

Lina: Oh, you're useless.

Amelia: Mr. Zelgadis, are we in any danger.

Zel: You will if you don't shut up and let me think.

Meanwhile...

Aurilia: So, Dilgear, I think this is your cue to run away.

Dilgear: For now, but I will bring you back to Lord Rezo. No matter what.

Aurilia: That's what you always say. It's getting old.

After Dilgear leaves to go lick his wounds, Aurilia collapses, finally allowing her exhaustion to show.

Aurilia: (breathing hard) Damn, He's getting better.

Then she notices the destruction that she caused.

Aurilia: Aw, man, this can't continue. I hate to admit it but he's wearing me down.

Zel: Damn, she's something.

Gourry: Hey, didn't you get rid of the wolfman?

Zel: I don't know, who's keeping score?

Lina: Zel, if you don't tell me who she is I'm going too...

Amelia: Miss Lina that's not very nice and it's a crime...

Zel and Lina: SHUT UP!

Aurilia hears this, leaps up and pulls a sword very similar to the one Zel carries.

Aurilia: Alright! Come out now, and I won't hurt you!

Zel: Calm down woman, you aren't in the condition anyway.

Aurilia: And what, pray tell, do you mean by that?

Zel: Well, you can't even keep your sword steady. Come here and I'll heal you.

Aurilia: I'm not hurt.

With that the point of her sword drops to the ground, and she then leans heavily on her sword.

Aurilia: I'm just tired.

Lina: Do you know why that guy was chasing you?

Amelia: Bringing 20 trolls against one woman is not very honorable.

Aurilia: Who? Dilgear? Well it's been going on and off for about 10 years now.

Zel: He sure is persistent. You weren't hurt, were you?

Aurilia: No. My grandfather would kill him if he harmed one hair on my head.

Zel: Do you need an escort back to your grandfather?

Aurilia: NO! That's the last thing I need. I'm not going home till I find my brother. Anyway that's why Dilgear was following me. My Grandfather doesn't want me to look for my brother.

Amelia: Miss Lina! We must help her find her brother! Fate has lead us to our next wonderful adventure in the name of seeking justice!

Zel: Can it!

Aurilia: Is she always like that?

Gourry: Worse. Much worse. I am Gourry Gabriev.

Aurilia: I am Aurilia Greywers.

Lina: Did you say Greywers?

Aurilia: Yes. Why?

Lina: Well his name is...

Zel: Zaine. Zaine Greystorm.

Gourry: That isn't your name.

Zel: Gourry! Isn't that a chicken?

Gourry and Lina: Where!? Where!?

They both take off on the wild chicken chase; Zel conveniently came up with to change the subject off of his sudden change of name.

Aurilia: Ok that was weird.

Amelia: Where are you two going?! That is so rude. I am Amelia Wil Tessla Seruun.

Aurilia: Hi. So what's up with those two.

Zel: I've been wondering that for years.

Aurilia: You seem like a smart guy, why do you hang around with those lunatics?

Zel: Well, I haven't figured it out yet. The people are idiots, the hours are horrid, the work is hard; but at least the pay sucks.

Aurilia: Well, it's not as bad as my grandfather. You'd think he'd want to find his grandson.

Amelia: Do you wish for us to aid you in your search?

Aurilia: Well, maybe him. He at least looks like he's good in a fight. You're just a kid and those other two...

Amelia: You shouldn't judge by appearance alone! That is very unjust!

Zel: Shut up!

Amelia: You are so mean Mr. Zelgadis!

Zel: My name is Zaine you twit!

He hits her.

Amelia: Uhhh!

Aurilia: You know it's wrong to hit kids just because she gets your name wrong.

Zel: Let's just say we have a history. Besides who do you think you are telling me how to do things!

Aurilia: Look you! Only idiots bully the weak. She's just a kid! Quit picking on her!

Amelia: Now I'm pissed off. Fireball!

As the ball of fire races toward Aurilia, she rolls out of its way and instinctually she fires a flare arrow at Amelia.

Amelia: Too easy! Elmekia Lance!

As Aurilia dives out of the way the lance rips through her cape.

Aurilia: That's it! I've had enough of this! Ra Tilt!

Zel: Knock it off! Both of you!

He picks Amelia up and moves her to the side. Fortunately for both Amelia and Zelgadis, Aurilia used up the last of her energy for that spell and collapses.

Zel: Moron.

Lina and Gourry: Zel, you lied! There's no chicken!

Gourry: Hey! What happened to Abusmal?

Luckily for Gourry, Zel ignores him.

Amelia: She fell to my superior power.

Zel: No it was her inferior power.

Lina: That doesn't change the fact that you lied about the chicken. You want barnacles, again?

Zel: No! You wouldn't dare...Damn it!

Gourry: Wow, Zagildos! You look funny!

Zel: Enough, Gustav. Lina, get these things off of me!

Lina: (softly) don't want to.

Gourry: Hey! My name is Gourry!

Zel: (thinking quickly) Fine! I place the curse of small breasts!

Lina: (quickly) All right, you win!

Zel: I thought so. Let's get to town. It's early and I need my coffee. (thinking) The faster we leave her behind the better I'll feel.

Before they could leave Aurilia finally comes to.

Aurilia: Oohhh! My head.

Amelia: I'll heal you up! Oh never mind. I'm just a kid.

Aurilia: (with a touch of despair in her voice) Whatever.

Aurilia slowly stands up, recovers her sword, adjusts the scabbard, and walks off in the opposite direction, continuing the search for her brother.

Gourry: Hey, aren't we going to help her.

Zel: She's a walking time bomb.

Lina: That's not bad thing. Anyway she's in no condition to be running off on her own. What if Dilgear attacks her? She'll be defenseless. (yelling at Aurilia) Hey! Wait up!

Lina runs to catch up with her.

Aurilia: What do you want!?

Lina: Calm down. I just want to help. Do you know where your brother was seen last? We've been all over the land and maybe we can assist you.

Aurilia: The last time I saw my brother, I was five. Some one killed my parents, but they never found Zel's body. I know he's alive.

Lina: (thinking) Her brother's name is Zel? I wonder... (outloud) So you've been searching for him the whole time? Have you ever tried a diviner?

Aurilia: I've never had a chance, yet. Usually Dilgear finds me and drags me home after about a week.

Lina: He is pretty annoying. I have a friend, a shrine maiden of Saariag. Come with me and you can talk to her.

Aurilia: Sure. And thanks.

Lina: No problem. And ignore the group I'm with. They are okay once you get to know them.

Aurilia: (wearily) Somehow I don't believe you.

Lina: Hey, it's okay. Just behave and they will leave you alone. I'll make sure of that. I'm Lina Inverse.

Aurilia: You're her, Lina the Bandit Killer!

Lina face-faults.

Lina: Sure, whatever. Let's go.

Aurilia: Ohh, if Rezo knew who his granddaughter was traveling with he'd have a heart attack.

Lina: Your what!?

Aurilia: Yeah, I have a famous grandfather. He doesn't think I can take care of myself. He's a real pain in the neck, though.

Lina: You have no idea! Zel! Guess who's alive?! Again!

Zel: It's Zaine! Who?

Lina: Rezo! The Red Priest.

Zel: That bastard! Where!?

Aurilia: Hey! Watch who you're calling a bastard, Zaine! He took me in and taught me everything I know. He is a great man.

Amelia: Rezo! He's evil! (confused) Isn't he, Miss Lina?

Lina: Nah. He's a nice guy. Really!

Zel: How can you say that, even in jest?!

Aurilia: Rezo's not evil. Warped yes, strange yes, maybe even a little bizarre, but he's definitely NOT evil!

Gourry: Maybe he's reformed???

Lina: Gourry, you idiot! He brought not one, but two powerful monsters back to life and nearly killed us twice! And you think he may be reformed?

Aurilia: Whoa! I think I am definitely missing something here. Lina, why don't you start over from the beginning.

Lina: All will be made clear, over dinner!

Aurilia: Sure.

Lina goes through the long story not missing a single detail. Gourry and Amelia have fallen asleep. Zel is absorbed in his coffee.

Aurilia: I never would have believed you if I haven't seen Zaine. But it explains why he would disappear, every so often, and why I haven't seen Eris in a while.

Zel: Lina, I need to speak with you.

Lina: Sure, Zel...Zaine.

Zel gets up and walks out of the door, followed closely by Lina.

Lina: So what's up.

Zel: I'm not going to beat around the bush. She is my sister.

Lina: I figured that. Why haven't you told her yet?

Zel: I don't want her to know that her brother is a chimera.

Lina: But, Zel, she's been searching for so long. I really don't think she's going to care.

Zel: I don't expect you to understand or even care, but I do ask that you respect my decision.

Lina: Fine, I will, but I still think you should tell her. Or is your decision being made just because you don't like her.

Zel: We are done here.

He walks back in.

Lina: (voice over) I guess I struck a nerve. So Zelgadis or Zaine has a sister. Why haven't we heard of this before? When will he ever tell her? I'm afraid we'll have to wait until the next episode to find out.
