"This first meeting of Slayers inc. is called to order." the petite redhead said, banging a gavel on the table.
"Ms. Lina, please calm down." Amelia said.
"oh, all right." Lina replied. She looked around the table at her friends, who were now her business partners: Xellos, Amelia, Zelgadis, Filia, and Gourry. then she said "I have some good news!!!!!! we have our first client! her name is Ms. Sylvia Erica Saline Franceska Baldwin III. she needs to be escorted from her college to her home. do we have anyone willing to do the job?"
Xellos immediately raised his hand. "I'd LOVE to do it Lina-chan." he said with that grin of his.
"I'm sure you would, Namagomi. What ulterior motive do you have to do it THIS time?" said Fillia.
"Sore wa himistu desu" came the expected reply. Fillia became even angrier and slammed his head down on the table with her mace. Everyone in the room sweat-dropped, then Lina said "Anyone else?"
slowly, almost reluctantly Gourry raised his hand. "I'll do it." he said. Lina thought about it. As president of the company it was her obligation to choose the people to send on a job. She knew that the most reliable person for the job was Gourry, despite the fact that he could be a complete idiot, yet something was holding her back. "Yeah, whatever." she thought, "it must be my imagination. Or maybe I'm just worried about not having him here to protect me. Not like I need it..... But with that THING in the basement I'd feel safer with someone else here."
The next day, Lina came into the office. She handed Gourry a map, and said " you take care of yourself, Ok?" then, after seeing Gourry off, felt there was little reason to stay as there was no other business to attend to, so she went home. Later that night, she realized that she had left her book at work, so she went to get it. When she arrived at the offices, they were in a shambles. Windows were broken, the door had been smashed inward, and she could see from the outside that papers were strewn EVERYWHERE. "Oh no." she thought, "Its started."
