Chapter One

The sun was shining peacefully on a small brick house. Birds were chirping, a small, warm breeze was blowing, and all was well with the world.

Lindsay Ianuzzi ran out of her house at what seemed to be nearly the speed of light. "Arrrrgggg! I'm sooooo late!" she cried and zoomed as fast as she could towards her High school. Unfortunately, it wasn't fast enough. She was late to first hour for the fifth time that week. She ran in the door just as the bell was ringing. "Lindsay, you're late again!" yelled the teacher. "For that, you get a fifteen minute detention. I would say that it would be before school, but you'd never get hear in time, so you can stay after school and clean the blackboards! Now sit down so that we can begin class!"

Lindsay sat down amid the snickers of her classmates. Today for some reason it seemed to bother her more than usual. She felt as though she should be doing something to get even. She just didn't know what. She felt herself start to raise her hands, and then stop. She didn't need anymore attention than she already had. She got out her books and started to follow with the class.

In another class, Zack Greenleaf looked up from his text book.

"Class Dismissed!" said the math teacher. It was time for lunch. Lindsay was happy about that as it gave her time to escape so that she didn't have to put up with her classmates for one whole hour. The rest of the class had elected to stay in the room, but not Lindsay. She was going outside, and there was no one who was going to stop her! No siree! As she walked out the door, she bumped into someone. "I'm terribly sorry!" said a female voice, "I wasn't looking where I was going..." Lindsay looked down, and recognized Annie Sayers, an underclassmen who all the guys were gaga about. "That's Ok." Said Lindsay, "I wasn't really watching where I was going either." Annie looked up. "Oh, you're that upper classman that everyone is talking about. The one who's always late! oops! Sorry! That was so rude."

Lindsay laughed out loud. "that's okay. It's true. I just wish that people wouldn't harass me so much about it. Anyway, I was just on my way out to lunch. Care to come?"

"Really miss Lindsay? Can I sit with you and your friends? That would be great!"

Lindsay and Annie went outside. They walked down a green path and reached a big Ginko tree. Underneath it sat a two boys, one blond and one with dark hair, and two girls, one who was blonde, and one who was purple haired. The blonde girl looked incredibly angry.

Ignoring the blonde for the moment, Lindsay introduced Annie to Everyone.

"Gregory Galleon, Zack Greenleaf, Fiona Castleberry, and Samantha."

"Doesn't Samantha have a last name?" Annie said, laughing."

"She does", replied Lindsay "But she refuses to tell us!"

Fiona who had been looking quite annoyed suddenly yelled, "ARRG! I hate that guy soooo much!"

"what happened now?" asked Zach.

"That.. That guy, who calls himself "X" tried to sit with us....and I just can't stand him at ALL!!! Why did he have to do that anyway?!"

"Is that all?" Asked Lindsay, "I'd have thought someone had dented your bottle of mace from the way you were talking."

Suddenly, Zack looked up. "Lindsay, we need to talk, in private, soon."
