Chapter 11: Becoming

"Oh wow!" Mei smiles as she looks over the huge city before her. Having grown up in the smaller town of Zefelia, she has never even imagined this size of a city. Mei looks around silently, thinking that she should probably find a place to get a room or something, to prepare for the next day, which is guaranteed to be a long one. Yes, sleep was good, being that she would be ready for her new orders. At least, if Ceipheed was going to allow her to sleep, which she so desperately hoped.

The girl looked up and down the street she was standing on. She looks silently to find an inn that she could stay for the next few days. Mei reaches into her things to pull out a change purse. She lightly shakes it to see how much gold she has before opening it to inspect the contents.

Truly content on her position money-wise, she looks to find a decent inn to stay at.

Maryuuoh Gaav remains where he can watch Mei without interruptions. He has followed her from her home of Zefilia to Saillune, anticipating the chance to attack her. The Knight of Ceipheed has arrived, meaning that the gathering of the pieces will soon mean one of the first major movements of the war.

Being that a major battle for the war may be coming soon, Gaav realizes that it may be his best bet to take down one of the ones who threatens his plans - the Knight if Ceipheed.

"Phibrizo!"

"Lei Magnus." The boy nods his head to the sorcerer before looking up to Mila.

"Phibrizo. Why Do You Come To Me Again?" Mila speaks with a quiet voice void of emotion.

"The pieces are moving into place here, Mother. The war will truly begin soon."

Mila stares down at the young Lord, saying nothing to him when Lei Magnus clears his throat. The attention of both people is turned up to him and he looks outside.

"I believe Phibrizo is right, Mila..." The signal being that he is calling her by name, that it's time. Lei Magnus turns to walk out of the room to go to leave the palace in search of the newcomers in the city. "We had best prepare. There will be guests..."

Mila just watches him, and then she follows the man out, leaving the Hellmaster in the room, alone.

The tall, red haired man remains where he's hiding, watching the inn where Mei had gone into. He silently leans against the building across the street; a faint smile forms on his face when he realizes that he wasn't noticed whatsoever. He simply pushes himself off of the wall of the shop, and walks to the inn to follow the girl silently.

Just as he places his hand on the knob to the door of the establishment, Gaav stops, then looks back to the palace. It can't be... The Lord looks back to the inn, dropping his hand. He quickly turns and begins to make his way to the palace, after feeling a presence he could not ignore.

After finishing a meal of steak and soup, Mei leans back with a satisfied smile. The food here even rivals that of some of the best restaurants in Zefelia. She reminds herself to make a note on finding out about what they do to make it so good.

It was just as she was finishing her glass of juice when the voice hit her.

Find the sorcerer Lei Magnus, and the child, Mila.

"That it!" She sits up, trying to remain calm, though hearing Ceipheed speak to her to give her orders still disoriented her, but she knows that she'll have to get used to it before the war escalates.

Mei Inverse flags down the waitress to pay for her meal, and gets up to begin her new mission.

The young, dark haired girl stands up on a few crates in the marketplace. Her babbling of the war has already drawn in quite a crowd, and once she hits them with the truth of who's here, they'll listen to her for sure!

"Don't listen to all the words of the people saying that this war isn't happening!" Sherra speaks out. "It's as real as the sun that's shining down on you today!" The voices respond to her in waves, so that she can't understand them, being that they were all talking at once.

One man, though, speaks out loud enough to Sherra and everyone becomes silent in response to his question: "Do you have proof of this?"

The general laughs lightly. "Of course I do! I wouldn't be making any crazy speeches like this if I didn't!" They want that proof! Sherra smiles watching the growing crowd. They want me to say it...!

"My proof is back there!" Sherra points back to the palace. "The palace! The current hiding place of the Hellmaster Phibrizo!"

The voices of the crowd all gasp in unison.

"But Lei Magnus is here! He can protect us!"

"Maybe his apprentice can as well! He assured us that she was powerful too!"

Sherra grins while listening to the confused people trying to find some way to get help.

Mei hears the voices of a small crowd as she walks through the marketplace to get to the palace. Stopping to take a look, she sees the group gathered around a young, black haired girl standing above them - probably using something to stand on. She stops to take a look at her, suddenly getting a pang of a feeling from the girl. Unable to explain it, she watches her silently for a bit, then blinks as she hears the announcement that she had.

My proof is back there! The palace! The current hiding place of the Hellmaster Phibrizo!

Mei stops, hearing the voices, then looks around, suddenly more aware - there must be Mazoku in the city. If the war is starting, then that has to be so.

The idea suddenly hits her.

If Lei Magnus is here, as well as some Mazoku, they must be going after him as well...

With that thought, Mei takes off from the gathering with a quick run, beginning to move towards the palace once again.

After watching the Knight if Ceipheed begin to move towards the palace, the red haired man begins to take off after her.

Master... Someone has just revealed our presence to the humans.

Phibrizo looks away from Mila and Lei suddenly, out to the window outside. He's quickly scanning across the city, seeing if anything is happen, and decides that maybe he should see about this. If what he was just told is true, that person must be punished by all means.

He turns back to the two he was talking to. "You'll have to excuse me, Lei Magnus... Mother... I have some other things to deal with." With that, he disappears from sight.

Philos sits on the rooftop watching the commotion of the market place. He can't see the girl who did the message with the crowd around her. She is though, without a doubt, a Mazoku - that eliminates it all to be Sherra. While he just sits there, watching, he receives the message he wanted to hear.

Destroy her. We can't let her ruin everything.

With a smile, Philos stands up and jumps off of the rooftop, landing in an alley to find her.

Mei walks quietly down a street that has emptied out. There are no sounds, and the air is very still... Almost too still.

Look out, child.

Mei stops when she hears the words, startled. She looks around, then stops to look behind her, and frowns when she sees a familiar man standing in the street.

"How long did it take you to realize I was here, Knight of Ceipheed?"

Mei says nothing as she watches the Chaos Dragon begin to walk towards her.

"I'm sorry." Mei smiles to him, her mind racing to figure out how to get out of the inevitable fight. "Have we met somewhere before?"

Gaav is suddenly on her after she speaks, grabbing her by the collar. "You dare to try to escape this?" She picks her up off of the ground, glaring darkly into her eyes. "Answer me!"

"I... I..." She cries softly, trying to pry his hands away from her neck. Her mind races through ideas to get him away from her, but she doesn't know what to do.

Gaav, disgusted, just tosses the girl aside, and grumbles. "Why were you even picked? You don't know any magic... You don't appear to be able to fight... You don't even carry a weapon on you!"

Mei looks up at him. She had left the armor and the mace she had at the inn. She figured she didn't need them, because she was just searching - she stands corrected.

That's when she knew what to do.

Mei quickly stands up and takes off, running back towards the marketplace, hoping that the man will follow her.

Lei Magnus blinks at Phibrizo's sudden decision to leave. He then looks down at Mila. "What do you think is going on?"

Mila says nothing while walking over to the window. She stares out into the city, speaking softly to the sorcerer behind her.

"The Rumors Of War Will Become Truth Today, Lei Magnus. The Chaos Dragon Is Challenging The Knight of Ceipheed. Phibrizo Has Taken Insult From The General Of Grauscherra And Aims To Destroy Her. The Other Knight Is On Her Way As Well."

Lei Magnus stops when he hears what has been said, then looks outside as well. "What do you see fit to be done?"

"Nothing. It Must Happen."

Mila does nothing under the eyes of the man with her. She finally turns around, her oversized robes flowing gracefully around her - no matter what she does, she seems to always be somewhat graceful. Watching her leave the room, he stands up and follows her out.

Sherra smiles to herself, watching the fear in the crowd. She's convinced the stupid humans that Phibrizo is here. Now that he'll have to deal with this, she can...

Sherra stops, and looks up behind her, feeling eyes watching her.

Just as Sherra sees him, Philos leaps off of the rooftop to land behind her. He doesn't care if the crowd sees him kill her - it'll be their fear to go with Sherra's pain, which he fully intends on making her feel. With a quick movement, the Hellmaster's General draws out a dagger to kill the other general before him.

Sherra jumps back, avoiding the attack, seconds before kicking Philos in the chest to knock him away. She hears the voices in the crowd behind her crying out in fear and terror - she hears people running for their lives as well as those calling for the guard of Saillune to come and help them. Seeing that he's away from her, she turns to run, teleporting away while doing so.

Philos crashes back into the wall of the shop behind him, then looks up to watch Sherra take off. He jumps back onto his feet as well while searching for her being then vanishing as well to finally kill his prey.

Listening to the quiet voices in the palace, Solara just glances around her. She moves quietly through the halls, searching for any answers she can find. The dragon stops as she hears voices talking behind her. "There are Mazoku in the city! The people have made reports of this."

"Are you sure about that?"

"What do you mean?"

"With the rumors of war, don't you think that people will overreact to fanatics in the street?"

Solara looks back to the owners of the voices. The guard is pleading with Lei Magnus to help them, Mila standing behind him, her head lowered. The priestess, determined on getting answers of any kind, suddenly takes a deep breath and walks over to the pair, watching the guard turn back to alert the other guards.

Just before Solara can place her hand on the shoulder of the robed girl, Mila turns around and catches her wrist, gripping it tightly, though she still says nothing.

"Can't you even tell me who you are...? I can tell that the apprentice bit is a facade of some kind, you two. I'm not totally stupid."

Lei Magnus walks up to Mila and Solara. He carefully takes the hand of the girl and pulls it from the dragon's wrist. He looks up at the priestess, examining her silently.

"What's with all of the silence suddenly?" Solara then backs away.

Mila looks up at Solara, her eyes having the strange, lifeless look to them again... The same feeling from before flooding her mind as she hears the voice around her, rather than from the girl.

"Do You Truly Understand What's Happening Right Now, Solara?"

The priestess looks up at the girl, seeing that she knows her name.

"Who are you?!"

"Do You Truly Wish To Risk Understanding To Learn The Truth Prematurely?"

Solara blinks. "What do you mean by that...?"

Mila is suddenly interrupted by Lei Magnus. "Please, Solara. This is a dire situation. It would be best that you don't get involved. We can't afford any casualties."

"Casualties?!" Solara looks shocked. "What's going on?!"

"She Demands Answers..." Mila speaks, before walking towards the priestess again. Lei Magnus reaches out and takes the girl's arm, pulling her back to him. He lets her go, though, immediately after receiving an angry glare from her.

The dragon priestess takes a step back, and trips on her robes - crashing to the floor in the end. She looks up as the girl stands over her.

"If You Wish Answers So Badly, Solara... I Can Give Them To You."

Without a chance to protest, the true identity of Mila is revealed straight into Solara's mind. The answers she sought for flood into her mind quickly after. At such speeds, she's unable to think everything out straight, and throws her head back and screams. She can't sort through all the seemingly nonsensical images in her mind - she doesn't think that she can cope.

"Mila!" The sorcerer blinks to the child next to him just as she falls to her knees seconds before Solara. He glances over to Suiryuuoh no Miko who falls to her knees, screaming. Quickly picking up the young child in his arms, he speaks to seemingly no one in particular. "Mother. Hurry. We can't be discovered here."

Seconds after hearing Lei Magnus' words, Mila opens her eyes again - they have that same, golden, yet lifeless glow to them. She shoves herself out of Lei's arms and begins to move away from the screaming priestess without another word.

Silently, the Dynast Warrior moves through a dark alleyway, trying to make it back to the palace of Saillune. She knows that she's in trouble with the Hellmaster now, and works hard to avoid the fate that will definitely befall her if the Mazoku Lord himself finds her. She'll have to use some other method, or call in her lord to defend her. What she does know now, though, is that Phibrizo's foundation on his plans - if they were about him staying unknown in Saillune - will be falling apart by this time. Sherra stops and curses to herself as she runs into a dead end; she cries out as she turns around to be faced by Philos.

"Greetings, Sherra of Dynast." He smiles cruelly while bowing politely to her. "Do you really wish to challenge the power of the Hellmaster and his servants?"

Sherra makes no response as she leans up against the wall, backing away from the other general.

"If I can read you right, you don't have a priest here to assist you... That's too bad, Sherra-chan."

"You can only defeat me if you catch me, Philos." Sherra takes off and leaps up and vanishes. She stops and screams when she reappears from her teleport, and Philos is standing before her again.

"Oh? Well, it seems that I can catch you."

The Dynast's general looks around her frantically, trying to find a way out, but stops as she feels a faint hum from Dolgufa. After a second's though, she gets the idea that it may be best to just fight this out and draws her demon blade.

"There we go, Sherra-chan! This is how battle should be!" Philos smiles and he leaps back from the younger Mazoku a bit, drawing a sword of black energy from the air around him.

Sherra charges forward, her blade drawn, to attack the general before her.

Watch him carefully... This will be a hard battle for you.

The Mazoku smiles as she hears her lord speak to her. He's behind her in this...

Thank you, Grauscherra-sama.

Without another word, the younger Mazoku, the demon sword being wielded madly against him, attacks Philos. He moves past each of the slashes and stabs easily, but is unable to strike back at her - the girl's sudden stamina is incredible.

With a scream, the Dynast Warrior swings Dolgufa at Philos another time, quickly switching forms to strike with an unexpected blow, which happens to connect.

The man steps back, falling off of the roof. He didn't notice how quickly Sherra had moved him back. Quickly, he catches his fall and hovers for a second before touching down to the ground. He looks up to see Sherra about to leap down on him with the blade again. Being that Dolgufa is a Mazoku as well, the damage may be more severe later. With that decision, he suddenly takes off to the skies to avoid the angered General attacking him.

Looking back, Mei's heart is downfallen as she doesn't see the Chaos Dragon following behind her, but she continues to run, hoping that he is following. If so, her plan will work nicely.

"Nice, Knight, but not good enough."

She hears the voice too late to react. Suddenly a hand darts out of the shadows of the alleyway behind her, to land into her chest. She is easily thrown off of her feet and onto the ground, being that she's of such a small size. Mei lies on her side, her arms wrapped around herself while she coughs helplessly.

"I'll ask you this again... Why were you picked as the Knight of Ceipheed?! You're just a helpless weakling! You have no chance of being able to fight in battle! I..."

He's interrupted as a loud explosion rings through the air. Gaav looks up, being distracted. Mei takes this as a chance to escape. She quickly gets up to continue her run back towards the inn she's staying at.

My Child... The power is in your hands. You must shape it to become what you need.

She hears the words in her mind, still trying to become oriented to hear the voice of a god speaking directly to her - that topic is erased from her mind when she realizes the truth of his words and feels a rush of magical power run through her.

Distraction! Her mind runs through spells that would distract the Lord's attention off of her. She grins as it hits her.

While running away, Mei draws out a small dagger that her mother had given her and looks at it, realizing that she can't worry about her belongings if she wanted to escape with her life intact. Quickly speaking out the words to the spell that she doesn't yet realize that she never learned it. Finally, she feels the energy flood from her hands and into her blade. Quickly, Mei Inverse stops, throwing the dagger into the air behind her. It flies true to its target, which isn't Gaav himself, but his shadow.

Shadow Snap!

Without looking back to see if the spell worked or not, Mei continues her run through the streets as she once again tries to make her way back to the inn.

Gaav looks back to see Mei running, and steps forward only to be unable to move. He looks down at the dagger that is imbedded in the shadows at his feet. With a glare, the dagger shatters to pieces, breaking the spell, though by the time he looks up Mei had already gone. Silently, the man strides to follow the direction she went, thinking that he may find out where she was running to in the end.

Mei rounds the corner, skidding to her knees, but getting back up to continue running. She had never run like this before in her life - of course, she had never had a need to run like this before as well. The Knight smiles as she arrives at the inn and races into the door, forgetting about the clerk at the desk and runs up to the room.

Her arrival is announced by the sound of the door slamming open. Mei stops as she looks at the armor on the floor then sighs - she knew that once she took the title, she'd have to wear it once again.

Halorn is standing beside her as she lies in her bed in her room when she wakes up.

"What happened, Solara? We heard your screams, and came to find you collapsed in the hallway."

"I... I don't know..." The priestess stops as she sees flashes from the images that the apprentice flooded her mind with. "Halorn! We have to do something!"

"What do you mean?"

"The war that the humans are always talking about! It is happening! Lei Magnus and his apprentice are involved!"

"That's preposterous, Solara. We would have heard from Suiryuuoh by now if something of this level is happening. You were probably hit on the head and were hearing or seeing things."

"It's true, Halorn! You have got to listen to me! This war can mean the end of everything if we don't do something about it!"

The High Priest just blinks as his priestess continues.

"The Lord of Nightmares Herself is siding with the Mazoku! She's not going to help us because..."

"Don't talk such nonsense!" The older dragon interrupts her. Solara just lowers her head, listening to him scold her. "I'll say this again, if something like this were happening, Suiryuuoh would have told us by now."

"What if she can't...?" The younger one speaks. She lowers her head, so that she doesn't see the anger in Halorn's eyes as soon as her words register.

"I..." He begins, but stops, not being able to say anything in return.

Solara doesn't watch as she hears the priest angrily leave her room, slamming her door shut.

After an hour of no movement and complete silence, Solara finally stands up from her bed. The girl is unable to figure out what she should do. With a clear mind for once, she steps out of her room, and makes her way into the hallway. She has to find someone who will listen to her.

Sherra falls back after the spell that Philos threw at her explodes in her face. She catches herself after about ten seconds of freefall and pulls herself back up to face the general, only to barely dodge out of the way from his attack. Ready for the next, she slides her head to the side, letting the next stream of black energy rip past her. She doesn't look back as the building behind her explodes - she could very well hear it.

Not once does Sherra take her eyes off of the Hellmaster's general during the battle. Even if he teleports to a new location, the Dynast Warrior remains one step ahead of him, waiting for him when he shows himself to her. One instance of this happening was when she had attacked him as he reappeared, throwing him down and through the roof of the shop below them.

As Sherra lands gracefully on the ruined shop, she is caught by surprise as Philos appears behind her and slams her into the shop. There's a loud crash from inside where she landed. Quickly, in response, a bolt of black lightning fires into the sky, knocking Philos off of the roof. He falls back, crashing into the alleyway of the shop, breaking the entire building apart.

Philos sits up, ready to send an attack in Sherra's direction, but stops as he can't see her. He quickly stands up and hurriedly looks around, freezing as he feels the blade of Dolgufa resting against his neck.

"One move, Philos, and I can take your head clean off. I wouldn't mind doing it, since Dolgufa and I would enjoy seeing you in pain, but I don't have the orders to do it."

The general doesn't move while speaking to the young Mazoku behind him. "Then what do you plan to do to me, General Sherra?"

"You lost the battle, Philos. Admit it and return to your Lord."

"Why do you say that I lost? I am mere being held in a standstill position... I can still tele-"

Before he can even finish the mind's processes they must to do teleport, Philos screams as black lightning from Sherra's blade electrocutes him.

"Dolgufa was ready for any attempts to run, Philos. We are not stupid, you know."

The Hellmaster's General crumbles to the ground while Sherra just stands over him, speaking to him softly.

"Do it, Philos. Remember, I might not have the orders to kill you, but I don't have orders to preserve your life. Grauscherra wouldn't mind if I had the blood of another Mazoku on my hands. I mean, I have plenty of it from humans already. He understands and trusts my judgement, though, and he would understand my reasons on killing you."

Philos slowly stands back onto his feet after a few minutes of silence. Sherra backs up, watching him as nothing happens to break that loud silence.

With almost blinding speed, Sherra is slammed into the wall behind her. She drops Dolgufa to her side, and slides down the wall and closes her eyes, her energy having been drained in the quick blast.

"Who's got the upper-hand now, Sherra-chan?"

Philos grabs her by her braid and lifts her off of the ground while he hovers lightly. Suddenly he takes off to the skies, the young girl in tow.

Sherra opens her eyes slowly. Of course, there's something about realizing you're fifty feet in the air that will quickly wake you up. With a stifled cry, she briskly looks around, to lean where she is and where Dolgufa is. She reaches behind her and stops, feeling Philos' gloved hand gripping her braid tightly.

"Sherra-chan... You can't do much without your beloved sword, can you?"

Sherra remains silent while watching the ground moving below her, then grins while silently calling out to Dolgufa.

Without warning, Philos' hold on her jolts free and in seconds, the General realizes that she is in complete freefall. Sherra flips over and catches herself in the air. She hovers silently and looks up to see Philos above her, gripping the blade of Dolgufa that has been stabbed through him. Philos wavers a bit before he drops into freefall as well.

The Hellmaster's General's fall is stopped abruptly as he feels a hand on one arm. The Dynast Warrior quickly retrieves Dolgufa from Philos, bringing it to her side.

"You will die by my hands!' Sherra screams out while swinging Philos around her and tossing his body down to the earth below.

"May the Hellmaster feel Grauscherra's power in the upcoming war!" With those words, Sherra throws her head back and begins to laugh, not paying attention to the loud crash and the commotion caused by the humans trying to figure out what caused it. The General Sherra's laughter echoes through the air of Saillune City - announcing her victory.

Walking through the city streets wearing armor and carrying a visible mace isn't the best way to be inconspicuous. Mei realizes this for the first time while she walks near the market place. Looking at the bright side, though, she understands that Gaav will know she's there, and prepared to let him know that she's serious and that she will not allow him to stand in the way of her mission.

Trying not to look at the people who are stepping out of her way, and avoiding her - the armor letting them know that something big may happen soon. She carries the mace in her right hand, and drops it into her left, carrying it so that everyone can see that she's armed.

Seconds before it occurs, Mei's mind seems to direct her eyes down to the ground below her, and she sees the glow where the ground is about to explode. Quickly, the Knight of Ceipheed dives away and crashes to the ground, tumbling away from the explosion behind her. While standing back up onto her feet, she turns to face the Chaos Dragon behind her.

"So...? You are going to prove yourself to me, finally, Knight of Ceipheed?" The tall, red haired Mazoku speaks to her.

Mei shakes her head, and mutters softly. "I only wish to complete my current mission. I don't want to deal with any unnecessary battles.

"You call this unnecessary?" He slams his sword's blade into the ground, burying it into the stone of the walkway.

The Knight staggers back, surprised by his sudden outburst.

"You dare to tell me that this will be a fultile fight?"

"I have better things to do than deal with petty fights like this!" She catches herself yelling back at him, which appears to have been the wrong words to choose, being that she receives a cruel glare from him. The Inverse girl steps back quietly, looking around her - the people that were around her have now cleared out. Seeing that, Mei sighs and holds her mace up, knowing that it would be best to prepare for the battle that she knows is coming.

Within the speed of a blink, Gaav is suddenly on Mei, surprising her. He raises his sword above her, and brings it down to her. The Knight quickly raises the mace in her hands, and her knees nearly buckle under the strength the man begins to overpower her with. Mei closes her eyes, holding back her tears, trying to find the power within her to break away from him. Like before, though, words seem to come to her mouth from nowhere...

Dil Brand!

She hears herself call out the spell before the ground around Gaav explodes. The sudden spell surprises the Chaos Dragon enough to get him to back away, but just as quickly, he steps forward again, preparing to use his sword for his next attack. The girl suddenly reaches up and times her strike just enough to knock the blade out of the way. With that, Mei quickly turns and takes off, running down the streets of Saillune - determined on getting the Chaos Dragon out of the city.

Relax, Child. Just worry about the situation at hand, then go back to the mission I have given you.

Mei continues her hurried run and skids to a stop as Gaav appears standing before her. She crashes onto the stone pavement of the street and looks up at him. Quickly, she scrambles onto her feet to move away from him, but cries out as she feels his strong grip latch onto the back of her armor. The tall man pulls her back towards him and glares down at her.

"I wish not to waste my power on such a weak human..." He speaks softly, picking up his sword, "...but it appears that it cannot be helped."

Just as Gaav lifts up the sword, preparing to strike down on Mei, he blinks. Quickly looking away from his victim and towards the palace. Using this as her chance, Mei breaks away from Gaav, and turns towards him, in time to see him look down to her.

"This will have to wait, Knight of Ceipheed. I'll give you another chance to prove your worth to me. I hope you will have awakened your powers more by then."

And with that he vanishes.

He leaves Mei alone in the street, as she wonders about the events that have happened to her.

Looking for someone to talk to or to be with is a hard thing when no one believes you. That's what Solara learns while quickly looking around the castle for someone... anyone...!

The priestess knows that Halorn will not listen to her, she can't find the princess or the king, and she doesn't want to encounter Lei Magnus and Mila again. She doesn't know what to do, being as to how lost she is.

Stopping to catch her breath, Solara leans up against the wall and closes her eyes. Her rest, though, is interrupted by a loud crash in the palace nearby. The dragon looks down the hallway in the direction that it came from and stops, realizing that she knows what's down there - The temple to Suiryuuoh.

Quickly, she takes off down the hallway, calling out to servants to get the guards to this part of the palace. Just as she arrives to double doors of the temple, she pushes them open, and stops, seeing the sight before her.

Solara is unable to make a sound as she sees the girl look back at her, her hands on her victim who has been impaled through the cross on the altar in the temple.

Sherra watches Solara for less than a second before she turns to tear Dolgufa out of Philos. His body collapses, vanishing. As Sherra grins over her victory, she teleports out.

Unable to speak, the dragon priestess walks into the temple, looking up at the hole in the ceiling, and then at the altar, where the cross to Suiryuuoh is the only object that isn't in pieces. She finally feels the grip on her throat free, and does the only thing she can think of - scream.

Mila steps back from the window after hearing the priestess' scream echo through the palace. She looks up at Lei Magnus, wordlessly, and walks past him.

While the girl moves to the bed to lie down, the sorcerer speaks softly to her. "This looks it is becoming the war you wanted, doesn't it, Mother?"
