Shon Lin wipes the tears from her eyes. "I don't understand. You say that I'm important, but I don't get it. I'm just Shon Lin of Barunos, the heir to the throne. I understand being fought over by another kingdom in hops of conquest, but by Gods and Demons? This is way too much to comprehend. Who...?" Shon Lin decides to correct herself. "No... What am I?"
"Who am I?" Mei returns. "I'm a merchant's daughter. I am not fit to be a knight - let alone the Knight of Ceipheed. I'm not a fighter. I live to sell and trade goods to the people of Zefelia. It's what my family has always done, though it may have been in other cities." Mei sighs softly. "I am a merchant, a trader, nothing more."
"Is protection too much to ask?!" The princess screams at her silent interrogator. "Don't you hear me?! ANSWER ME!"
I Have No Answers When There Is Nothing To Be Answered.
Shon Lin responds with silence.
"Listen. All I am and wish to be is a princess. I am not meant to be a defender of the world, and stuff of the like. I just wish to rule Barunos."
The End For Barunos Is Nearing.
"What do you mean the end?! Barunos has been hit by many attacks, and we're getting back on our feet. We are one of the most powerful kingdoms in the world!"
All Powers Fall Sometime.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Silence.
Shon Lin sighs, dropping her head. She knows she's in a loosing battle with this argument, as this voice will not listen to her.
"I refuse to be part of a war. I can't fight! I'll only be going into there to get myself killed. I won't be doing anyone any good." Mei speaks softly. "I can't do this. I'll just let everyone down."
She drops her head, remaining silent, not expecting a response of any kind to her questions.
You Weren't Selected For Battle.
Mei jumps, hearing a voice surrounding her. "Who...?!"
You Are The One Picked By Ceipheed Himself. You Were Given Gifts By Him For Him. The Knight Doesn't Just Fight In His Name.
"What do you mean?"
You Will Let More People Down By Not Accepting The Title. The Dragons Will Need Their Representative For The War, And You Are That Person, Mei Inverse.
Shon Lin looks down at the cold, stone floor. "But why me? I mean, why can't I live out my life like I wanted to, instead of how you, whoever you are, want me to?"
The princess stands up quickly looking at the sky above her. "I'm not going to let this be done! I have plans for my life. I don't want to be led around like I were on a leash. I am who I am. I am not someone's toy! I will choose who and what I will be! You can't do anything about it!"
Then You Must Accept Your Punishment.
"We'll see about that..."
It was six days ago when I lost my mind. I had no clue of who She was when She approached me. Now, though, I'm wishing that I did. All I can do is watch. She does as She must. It's a very simple concept, unfortunately, She is so much more complex than this.
My experience with Her was quite unique. She came to me Herself. Many people would think that I were crazy if I told them this, but it's true. Of course, I am really not in any condition to tell anyone anything. I can't do much about this anyway, so I just decided to sit back and ride it out.
The problem with this though, is that I hear what She thinks, feel what She feels, and know only what I can understand of what She knows. She is very complicated; She has plans that are still in motion from at least a couple hundred of years back. I am amazed at the kind of detail Her plans are in.
At least, I can be thankful for a peaceful rest...
