Zel felt Lina lay her hand on his shoulder.
"Zel he's been gone for nearly two years." Zel stared out into the gray pelting ran.
"I know Lina, but I still love the son of a bitch." Lina nodded and looked at her Chimeric friend. Lina felt her heart constrict at the look of longing on Zel's face. He never smiled anymore, or laughed. All th ejoy had faded out of him since he had left. Lina had to admit she missed him. She missed his ever cheerful smile. She missed Xellos, but not like Zel did. Lina couldn't understand how Xellos could be so cruel. Maybe the old saying was true. Maybe Xellos was imcapable of love. But Lina found that hard to belive, not after the look in his amethyst eyes when he looked at Zel.
Come back and bring back my smile
Come and take these tears away
Xellos stared grimly out of the castle window. The rain fell onto the dry and twisted ground of Wolf-Pack Island in sheets.
"Are you still mooping Xel-kun?" Zellas asked in annoyance as she took a drag of her cigerette
"Why would I mope Zellas-san?" Xellos bit out the words.
"You made the mistake and you must now pay the price Xel-kun." Zellas grolwed and transformed into her wolf form. "At least I didn't kill the Chimrera. That is usualy what happens to the loved ones of a Mazuko. You made the mistake of falling in love, and you must now deal with it. I am under orders by Shabrinigdo-sama's himself!" Zella threw back her head and issued a lone howl, that was soon echoed by the rest of her pack. "I am going to hunt now Xel-kun try to handle you confinement with grace." and with that, the Beastmaster ran out of her castle and into the rain.

Zel sat up and his hand's instnctivly went to the place where Xellso should have been at his side. But when his hand ran across noting but cool sheets, Zel woke up. He had been dreaming of Xellos again, why couldn't he get him out of his mind. It had been what, fourty years since he had last seen him. Perhaps he had died, and that was why he hadn't come. Zel frowned and curled up into a tight ball. He just had to not think about his Trickster, that was the only way to stay sane.

Xellos stared at the sleeping Chimera through the crystal mirror. He knew that Zellas-sama knew about his little peeks into Zel's life. She was no more happy about his sentance then he was. She had already run the risk of Shabrinigdo-sama anger by leaving Zel alive, and for that Xellos owed her an unpayable debt. But that didn't help on nights like these when all he wanted to do was curl up next to Zel and tell him everything was going to be alright. So instead, he would just have to live with these infrequent looks at Zelgadis. Xellos felt a tear run down his cheek as he gently traced Zel's face in the mirror.

Zel watched as Lina spun her child around in her arms and caught her.
"Daddy!" the child with blond hair cried and Zel smiled down at his adopted-son.
"What is it Torian?"
"Mommy wants you. Why?" Zel's shrugged and walked over to Lina.
"What's the matter Lina?" Zel asked.
"I can hear Gourry Zel, he's calling to me."Lina whispered a she thought about her long dead lover.
"So you are going to leave Torian, and Tala alone without a mother."
"Zel, you will watch them for me, you always have. They think of you as their father." Zel nodded.
"I just wish you wouldn't leave me too."Zel whispered and Lina hugged him.
"Relax, I'll see you on the Otherside." Lina whispered as she begain to walk back towards town. On the way there, a horse broke its rein and it's cart tumbled over, crushing Lina under it's weight. To think the the infamous Lian Inverse would die in such an accident.

Zel looked down at the grave of Torian. He had died so young. Zel looked over at the other freshly dug grave where Tala lay resting for all eternity. Zel felt the tears trickle down his cheeks. What had he done to piss off the Gods. Anyone he ever got close to died. First Xellos, then Lina, and now the twins. Zel swore that day to never get close to another person.
I can't forget the day you left

"I hear that's him. The man who never talks." the woman whsipered to her companion.
"I heard he lost everyone he ever loved and since then he can't speak." the woman's compannion whispered back as the man in ragged clothing walked past. The couple crossed themselves and prayed against catching the bad luck that followed the man aroung like a dark cloud. Though thaey whispered, Zel heard, and he felt his last spark of hope die. Was there nothing left for him to live for?

Xellos, this had all started with him so Zel made a decision. He would go to the place where he had last seen Xellos. Perhaps he could fing some tendril of his lover's spirit that would lead him to Xellos, then... he would join him.

Zel stared down at the enchanted dagger he had spent so much time making.The speels woven upon it where strong enough to pierce even his stone skin. Zel sighed and looke ddown at the picture he had draw of Xellos. Strangely, drops of moisture fell on the paper, swearing the picture.
"Xellos I'm coming to join you." Zel whispered as he held out the dagger.

"NO!" Xellos cried as he watched the one he loved raise the dagger. He couldn't let Zel kill himslef, not when there was still a chance! Xellos prepared a spell and was about to phazeout when he felt magical bonds form aroung him.
"Xel-kun, I can't let you do that." Zellas murmured sadly as she walked forward. "I can't let you go to Zel, otherwise I would have to kill you." Tears shone in Zellas' eyes.
"Please mistress, my life has no meaning without him."
"I thought you weren't capable of love Xel-kun." Zellas' tone held a note of her former teasing
"As did I Zellas-sama, but I was wrong. Please!" Xellos glanced over at the mirror as the Zel's hand descended

Zellas looked at her Trickster.
"Does he mean that much to you? He is already dying there is no chances of healing him."
"I don't care, I can't have him dying thinking I never loved him!" Zellas nodded and undid the restraining spells on Xellos. She kissed him on the forehead once in goodbye.
"Fare-thee-well Xellos. May L-sama have mercy on you. I will give you five minutes, then the hunt begins." Xellos nodded and phazed to Zel's side. Alone on her island, Zellas Metallium cried for the first time in thousands of years as she prepared to hunt down Xellos, her son.

Xellos phazed next to Zel and grabbed him.
"Baka, what have you done?" Xellos asked as he stared at the whole in Zel's chest. Blood continued to flow out of it.
"Xel...Xellos? You came?" Zel murmured as he stared up at Xellos.
"Of course, I told you we will always be together. I promise you I will soon be with you." Xellos bent down and kissed Zle for one last time. "I love you, my heart, my soul."
"I love you too. Sorry i never told you that before." Zel whispered as his eyes closed and his chest rose no more. Xellos carresed Zel's stone cheek.
"Perhaps in the next life, L-sama will take pity on us, and let us be together." Xellos heard as snarl and glanced up into Zellas' golden eyes.

"I am ready Mother." Xellos murmured as he bared his throat. Even in her lupine form, tears trickled out of Zellas' golden eyes as he ripped Xellos' throat out. The former Mazuko Priest's body fell down next to him lovers. Zellas stared down at them. It looked like they were meerly sleeping. Zellas threw back ehr head and howled. It was a howl of unimaginable grief and loss.

The child with violet hair and amethyst eyes stared up into the young boy who had suddenly appeared before him.
"Hi! I'm Zel, are you new here?" The boy had indigo hair and sapphire blue eyes. Zel gestured at his companions. One was a extremly short and elfish girl with flaming hair and ruby eyes. "That's Lina." Lina was beating up on the blond boy standing next ot her. "That is Gourry. We are all new here and was wondering if you wanted to join us? We are going to grow up and slay evil monsters and rescue people in distress. You wanna play with us?" The child with amethyst eyes nodded his head unsure. "What's you name?" Zel asked as he help the other boy to his feet.
"Xellos, my name is Xellos"
