The next morning, Zel and Khirah were married. It was a beautiful ceramony. Khirah seemed to almost glow, and Zel, his entire aura radiated happiness. Only one person seemed sad, and she kept her unhappiness skillfully masked. Still a dull ache clentched Amelia's heart as she watcedh Zel smiled at Khirah with love shining in his eyes. Why couldn't he had loved me? Amelia wondered silently. Oh well, I'l miss him, but he is trully happy, so who am I to grudge him a small measure of happiness? Amelia silently wondered. She looked over at Brannon and smiled at the Mazuko youth. Brannon grinned back, his golden eyes silently laughing. Amelai smiled weakly back, and Brannon clutched her hand and squeezed it reassuringly. Amelai turned back and watched as Zel kissed Khirah for the first time as man and wife. Amellia was one of the first people to surge to her feet. Khirah and Zel walked down the aisle, both obviously uncomfortable. Brannon grinned and waved at his childhood friend. The had the party to celebrate the wedding back at the castle. Only a small number of people were there. Amelia sat back and looked at the party. Yes, everything was perfect. Amelia watched as Khirah pulled Brannon over to a corner. The Mazuko, blushed bright red and he glanced over at Amelia, and strangely, she found herself blushing. Brannon turned back to Khirah and kissed her cheek, then left.
Khirah Wyyvern-Greyweres smiled as she notcied the looks that Brannon shot Amelia. So he like her ne? Khirah laughed silently as she resque Brannon from a overwealming countess. Khirah dragged Brannon over to a secluded corner and glared at her best friend.
"Brannon you have to tell her how you feel!" Brannon flushed and glanced over at Amelia.
"What are you talking about Khirah?" Brannon asked. Khirah sighed, if that's how he wanted to play it.
"It's obvious how you feel about her, so tell her!"
"I can't." Brannon muttered unhappily."
"What do you mean you can't!"
"Look Khirah, Amelia means alot to me. She is the first friend I have had since you, and I won't endanger that friendship by mucking it up with romanitic intentions that probably won't be returned anyway." Brannon smiled, but his slit-pupil golden eyes were infinantly sad. "Seeya 'sis." Brannon kissed Khirah on the cheek. "I have to go and check in with my master now." Brannon murmured as he lfet the great hall, but not before he looked over and saw the nlush staining Amelia's cheeks.
Brannon bowed before his mistress. "You called me my Lady." Teh blue haired woman' hissed in anger.
"You are very lucky you found her Brannon, otherwise I would have Draneth stake you and hold you over the fires!" teh blue haired woman grolwed. Yet behind her ocean blue eyes, she was laughing. Deep Sea Dalphine held out her pink tipped hand and Brannon took it. "Thank you for finding my Grandaughter Brannon. I just wish I could have saved the others." Dalphine's eyes were sad. "So nowbody suspects that you are my Priest?"
"No my Lady."
"Good then they probably think I'm still a little mad." From next to her dais, the man with gray eyes snorted.
"Do you find something funny Draneth?" Dalphine asked archly.
"No ma'm, it's just that you are probably noe of the most sane people I have ever met." Dalphine chuckled.
"What they don't know won't hurt them. Just as long as they leave me be, I am content to rule the sea." Dalphine looekd over at her genral. "Draneth, do you want to go and see her once more. I don't think you have seen Khirah since she was a child." Draneth's gray eyes darkend somewhat at the mention of Khirah.
"Perhaps, I do own it to Kiertan to see to it that his daughter is taken care of." Brannon flinched. He'd forgotten that Kiertan and Draneth had been the best of friends. Dalphine nodded her head and dismissed them. Brannon went back to his domain and read a book, trying not to think about a certain princess. While Draneth, he went to check on Khirah as his mistress had suggested. In other words, he was to watch over Khirah as he was supposed to have watched over Kieran. Draneth frowned, hopefully this time he wouldn't fail. Draneth phazed in the gardens of the castle. He could probably watch Khirah form here, adn still remain undetected. Just as long as he didn't run into any other Mazuko.....
"Stop right there." a tall blond woman commanded in an icy tone of voise. In her hands, a long hunting spear appeared. Draneth drew his sword and took a defensive pose. The blond woman smiled, and her eyes curled up into half-cresents. The smile looked oddly familier to Draneth, but he couldn't place it. Who did this woman think she was? She a mere mortal chalanging him. Draneth raised his sword, and prepared to kill the impudent little mortal when with a trist of her staff, she knocked his sword from his hands, and broke a few bones while she was at it. Then she swept his feet, and Draneth hit the ground hard. The next thing he knew, the woman's sharp staff was pointed at his throat.
"Never underestimate your opponant." the blond woman murmrued and she stopped smiling. Her lavender-gray eyes were cold and bleak. Draneth gave a start, he had just been defeated by a Mzuko. Now he knew where he had seen that smile, it wa that Trickster Xellos' smile. And if that was his smile then the woman who had defeated him was none other then the Beastmaster herself!
"This day just keeps getting worse and worse." Draneth thought sourly.
