Negha looked at her friends with a weak smile. "I'm glad you came so quickly." she muttered, her throat harsh.
"Shh...don't speak. We are glad to come." Lina replied, tucking the sick woman in.
"Tell me," Negha croaked, "Are you living your life to the fullest?"
Lina glanced at Zelgadis, then looked back at her."Yes....we are."
"Then I am glad." Negha whispered, barely audible. Her eyelids grew heavy and soon her world faded into blackness.
Lina and Zelgadis buried Negha next to her eight sisters. Putting fresh flowers on all of the graves, they said their final farewells and walked on to their futures.
Later they would repeat this even with Gourry and Sylphiel, and then a little later with Amelia and her husband. As Zel and Lina continued their immortal lives as magic users, they eventually found a cure for Zel's curse and created many generations of magic users after them.
