Lina trudged wearily and slowly behind the group. Sylphiel clung to Gourry's arm and Zelgadis and Amelia walked next to them. I feel horrible Lina thought wearily.
Just then, Sypliel looked back at Lina. "Miss Lina? Are you okay?" She asked in her usual timid voice. Lina nodded. She closed her eyes as she struggled to keep up with the group. When she opened them, she noticed Xelloss had appeared out of nowhere. She sighed and stumbled along behind the others.
"Lina-chan?" Xelloss questioned, appearing next to her.
"What?" Lina mummbled.
"Lina-chan, are you okay?" He asked again.
"Course I am, baka mazoku." She mummbled. Her head was pounding, her heart racing, sweat dripped down her face. Her vision was bouncing back and forth between blurry and clear. The images around her began to spin. She stopped, her knees buckled, and she clutched her head.
"Miss Lina?" Amelia asked cautiously. The others gathered around the firey sorceress.
"Help..." She whispered, before stumbling and falling backwards into a pair of strong, comforting hands. She heard her friends calling her faintly, before blacking out.

"Is she alright?
"She's burning up!"
"But she's shivering!"
"What do we do?"
Lina heard the hushed voices of her friends. Her head hurt more than ever and pain shot through her body. She groaned, and everyone froze and became silent. Lina opened her eyes a crack, then closed them again quickly.
"The light..." She moaned. There was the scampering of feet, followed by a ::click::
"Miss Lina?" Amelia questioned softly. Lina slowly opened her eyes again.
"What, happened?" She asked hoarsley.
"You passed out." Zelgadis stated simply. She nodded.
"It's so hot in here." Lina said, begining to shiver.
"Miss Lina! It's the middle of winter! And your shivering!" Sylphiel exclaimed. Lina winced as a shock of pain ran through her.
"Lina-chan?" Xelloss questioned. Lina looked at him, her vision blurred.
"X-Xelloss?" She questioned, her voice raspy. He nodded worridly. She then closed her eyes tight and took deep breaths as another wave of raw pain came. This one was more intense than before and she frantically waved her arm around, looking for something to hold onto. She came across Xelloss' gloved hand, and much to everyone's surprise, she held onto it. She screamed and arched her back as an emense wave of raw power surged and riped through her body. She screamed. Amelia hid her face in Zelgadis' sleeve. Zelgadis looked in awe at Lina. Gourry stared wide-eyed as his best friend cried. Sylphiel covered her mouth with a hand and hid in Gourry's chest. Xelloss tried his best to calm her. She suddenly stopped and Xelloss gently cradled her. Her eyes jot open, unseeing. Everyone became deathly still.
"Make it stop..." She whispered.
"Make what stop Lina?" Gourry asked, confused.
"Make it stop! PLEASE Make it stop!!" She cried hysterically.
"Lina!! Get a hold of yourself!" Xelloss yelled, gently shaking her.
"Make what stop?" Amelia asked, coming out from behind Zelgadis.
"The voices..." She whispered. "Don't you hear them?" Everyone shook their heads. "Make them stop! He's coming to get me!" She sobbed. Xelloss looked at the others, they were afraid and shocked, that the almighty Lina Inverse cried. Lina suddenly stiffened and fell limp. Xelloss caught her with ease and gently laied her down. He stood up and turned toawrds the others.
"I'll stay with her tonight, you all need sleep, I don't." Xelloss said, sitting down next to Lina's bed on a chair. Everyone except Zelgadis nodded and left.
"I swear, if you do anything to hurt her..." Zelgadis warned. Xelloss smiled and snapped his fingers.
"Bye bye Zel-sama!!" He giggled as Zelgadis dissapeared. He looked at Lina who lay
deathly still now, no more thrashing. He sighed. "What happened to you my little fireball?" He
whispered. He kissed her on the forehead and leaned back in his chair. Carefully placing his
staff leaning against the wall next to him, he fell asleep.
Lina awoke the next morning
to the sound of chirping birds. She groaned. Her head was pounding and her whole body ached.
"What happened?" She mummbled, opening her eyes and seeing the white ceiling. She looked around the room to find Xelloss sleeping soundly. Her eyes widened and she screamed. Xelloss suddenly jumped up and looked frantically around.
"Who? What? When Where!?" He yelled. He bumped into his staff and it fell clunking him on the head. "OWH!" He exclaimed, rubbing his head. That's when he saw Lina. "Miss Lina! Your awake!" He exclaimed again, standing up. She eyed him wearily.
"FIRE BALL!" She screamed.
One burnt mazoku and hungry and dressed Lina later....
Lina trudged tiredly down the stairs, Xelloss following closley behind. "I'm sooo hungry!" She whined, plopping down at the table. Everyone eyed Lina wearily, except Zelgadis who glared at Xelloss. "Waiter! I want everything from here to here!" She yelled pointing to practically everything on the menu. Within ten minutes her food arrived and she immediatley began chowing down. She suddenly stopped when the voice came back.

"What do you want!?"
lina... They aren't your real friends...
"What are you talking about!?"

"Lina you really shouldn't eat so much, your gonna turn into a flat-chested cow."

"Miss Lina! You will be punished by the forces of evil! You truly are a traitor!"
Amelia
"Miss Lina! You should be ashamed of yourself!"

"And to think I travel with her..."
Zelgadis
"Are you sure that's smart Miss Lina?"
Xelloss
Lina's eyes widened as the voice seemed to chuckle and vanish. She snapped out of it to see Gourry looking at her in concern.
"Lina are you okay?" He questioned. Lina suddenly jumped out of her chair.
"Is that what you think?" She whispered. "IS IT!!??" She screamed, catching the attention of everyone at the Inn.
"Miss Lina?" Amelia asked hesitantly. Lina backed away slowly and tripped and fell on a chair behind her. She didn't flinch, she just sat there.
"Lina?" Zelgadis questioned. Xelloss floated over to her and offered her his hand. She glared at him.
"No! Go away! He was right!" Lina sobbed and sprinted out of the Inn. Zelgadis went to run after her when Xelloss put a hand out.
"I'll go, something tells me this is serious." He said phasing out. Zelgadis growled and punched the table.
"Hurry Mr. Xelloss, I have a feeling something bad is going to happen." Amelia whispered.
Lina ran blindly. She stopped, panting and fell to her knees in the middle of a clearing. "I can't believe them..." She panted. She looked up suddenly when she felt a chilling breeze and the sense of new power. She gasped as she saw a man with golden blonde hair floating before her. (AN: I know I said hair like Valgarv's originaly, but I changed my mind... to tell ya'll the truth.. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HIS HAIR WILL LOOK LIKE!!! So when I finally figure it out, i'll draw it ^_^;)
"Well, I see you came Lina Inverse. You fell for my trap." He sneered. Lina's eyes widened.
"You mean it was all...fake?" Lina questioned. He chuckled and nodded.
"Now, come with me." He said, his feet touching the ground as he walked up to her. She shook her head frantically. "Well...I guess I have no choice." He placed a hand on her forhead and a huge amount of raw power surged through her body. She cried out and fainted, the man swiftly scooping her up.
"Let her go." Xelloss growled, appearing infront of the man. He chuckled.
"Sorry, no can do. This young girl is going to be my wife." He said. Xelloss opened his eyes.
"What did you say? Who are you?!" Xelloss demanded.
"Oh yes, I am Lord Xalier, servant to the hidden dark lord, one who disobeyed Lord Shabranigdo and was sent to rot in the center of the world. But he had returned, and he, as well as I, have plans for Lina Inverse." He said. Xelloss gasped.
"Another Dark Lord?" He whispered to himself. Xailer chuckled and kissed Lina tenderly on the lips, causing a low growl from Xelloss.
"Say bye bye to your friend Lina!" Xalier laughed. Xelloss thrust his staff at Xalier but it was too late, and the staff hit the ground with a clatter.
"No...Lina, she's gone." Xelloss whispered, falling to his knees. "I have failed." He said, his head hanging low. Xelloss dejectedly picked up his staff and dissapeared.
I know I know, Xelloss is WAY out of character, but I couldn't help myself! =^_^=
