The starry night sky enveloped the mountains around the traveller's camp. The pale moon shined its luminous glow upon 2 people feverishly watching the infinate heavens.
"Gourry-Sama?" Slyphiel turned her gaze from the celestial bodies to the tall blond man next to her.
"Hm?" Gourry turned to look at her.
"Do..do..do..do you think that...that..." Slyphiel's tongue was tied in knots that sailors couldn't untie. Her eyes were sparkling at the thought her confession would finally arise the long awaited romance from the master swordsman.
"Do I think that, that moon there looks like it has a rabbit pounding rice cakes?" Gourry looked at her while giving her his usual goofy grin. Slyphiel went wide-eyed and then hurt from being interrupted. She gazed back at the moon.
"You're right..it does look like that." She smiled delicately.
"Reminds me of a great big rice cracker." Slyphiel's heart sank. The one time the romantic mood was set and ruined by Gourry-sama's appetite. Wait, scratch that, it wasn't the one time..there were many times her heart was thrown at Gourry-sama and it instantly reflected back without a single scratch. He never told her he hated her. That in itself kept her going.
"The others must be worried about us. I told them we'd only be gone a short while." Slyphiel looked again at Gourry whom nodded while still looking directly at the moon.
He liked his lips and smiled again. "I wish I could eat a giant rice cracker."
"Perhaps someday I could make you some.." Slyphiel blushed at the words she just said.
"I'll take your word on that!" Gourry took her wrist and led her back to camp. There the rest of the travellers sat around a fire. Two of the travellers were sitting close to each other studying a manuscript that was acquired from their last battle. The other traveller was reading a book of vocabulary.
"Oh hi..there you guys are." Lina looked up from the manuscript. Zelgadis said nothing and kept studying the page. He tried to turn the page when Lina slapped his hand with a frying pan.
"What was that for?!"
"I wasn't finished with the page."
"Why did you hit me with the frying pan?!?"
"I didn't want to hurt my hand." Lina stuck her tongue out and smiled at Gourry. "So what were you guys doing?"
"We were looking at the moon." Gourry looked at her puzzled.
"Did you find out anything about the Diem Eye?" Slyphiel asked averting the conversation. Lina looked at her seriously.
"I'm still looking for more information but to do so I'll need to go to the Remni library to see more details." She paused " So far it seems it's another magic amphilipher."
"We should go get it. It might amphilfy the subtractive element I need to reverse the spell Rezo gave me." Zelgadis spoke in a serious tone. Everyone looked at him in awe. He realized everyone was staring at him funny and began to blush.
"Gourry, you have watch tonight." Lina grinned. "More sleep for me!" She chose a spot closest to the fire and nuzzled into her cape. Ameria put her vocabulary book away and took a spot farther away from Lina but still a good distance close to the fire. Zel leaned up against a nearby tree and pulled the hood of his cloak down.Slyphiel looked at Gourry for a moment.
"Goodnight Gourry-Sama." She smiled.
"Goodnight Slyphiel. I hope you're going to cook breakfast in the morning." He grinned back. Slyphiel walked to a spot near the fire and laid down careful to make sure she was a good distance from Lina. She looked back at Gourry and drifted to sleep.
The next morning the travellers walked toward the town of Remni and reached there by late afternoon. It was a fairly old town full of ancient and traditional customs which led to many tourists to come and visit. It was also boasted, in small circles of sorcerors, that Remni had an extensive obscure library that very few were permitted to look at. Even the Sailoon library had missing obscure books that the library of Remni were fortunate to have copies of.
But of course, the first thing the travel weary slayers did as they got to Remni was find an inn and a fine resturaunt that served in large portions.
"So shall we look at the library tomorrow Miss Lina?" Slyphiel asked as Lina chewed a giant roasted chicken leg.
"Yes we definately will! GOURRY! That was my potatoe!! Give it back or die!"
"No it wasn't! It was on my plate!" The sound of clashing forks ressounated the air.
Ameria calmly stooped over and at the potatoe. Lina and Gourry looked at her in shock..then in anger.
"Ameria...that was my potatoe..." Lina had a dark glare to her eyes..
"I only ate it to stop the fighting and bickering. A true sense of justice knows good resolution." Ameria replied while closing her eyes and waving her finger around.
"And as an even wiser truth..you created much more fighting and bickering..for yourself." Zelgadis sipped his strong black coffee. The aroma of the coffee wafted to Slyphiel whom was watching the entire situation with a puzzled look.
There was a moment of silence..Ameria opened her eyes and realized 2 glaring eyes of Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev. "Two more potatoes please! and Hurry!!!!" She screamed. After the potatoes came everyone became satisfied and carried on the conversation of what exactly they were going to do.
"We're going to relax tonight. I've got enough money to pay for any luxuries considering that we've cleared the bandits in the area we won't have any worries of those coming to steal it either..so let's spend it!!" Lina chirped. "ah..dreams of hot baths.." Lina sighed.
"I want to go to the library today" an impaitent Zelgadis glared at Lina.
"You'll get to go tomorrow! Your cure's not going anywhere just enjoy life while you can." Zelgadis frowned at what Lina told him and looked the other way with a scowl."Hey you there. Where's the best hot springs around here?" The busboy turned to look at Lina.
"I think the Repuntz Springs is the most talked about in service wise." The youth replied in a shallow tone. His black hair was shiny with grease and his brown eyes were so deep they had flecks of red.
