This is a poem about Valgarv and Xellos from Valgarv's point of view. It is not about death (as all my friends seem to think), it's about unrequited love getting a second chance.
Here we are again,
In this place of silence,
Where you and I have met,
For centuries, as it seems.
What is this pull that brings,
You and I together?
This inevitable feeling,
That I will never be free of you.
As you smile at me,
I wonder if I resemble you.
I wonder if I wear a mask,
Like the one you cherish so much.
The wind flows through me,
And brings your scent to my heart.
It can't help but remind me,
Of your lies, your deceit, and your false promises.
We come closer together,
And embrace like night does day.
I feel defiled, but still you hold me,
Wearing your mask.
The sun sets as the moon rises,
And we dance this eternal waltz.
The last of all ceremonies.
The last of all promises.
As we dance, I feel the pain again,
This cursed ache within my being.
I feel myself falling again, but this time I am determined,
This time, you will fall with me.
