She walked up to the grave, gazed at it for a breif minute, then dropped to her knees. For the first time in a long while, she let all of the pain inside her out.
Every tear rolling down her cheek represented grief, bitereness...everything. Soon, the girl crawled next to the tombstone, and leaned her head against it. She pulled her hand up to her face, and gently wiped away the tears.
Soon, the afternoon skies left, and she was left alone with just the grave, and the bright, glittering stars in the sky. She looked up, and or some reason, began talking
"A lot has happened in the past while.
I'm travelling with friends to fight for justice,
hope, love and..and...
I'm not fooling you am I?
Even though you're up in heaven, even though you're
not here...you're here.
You know very well I put this whole obsessed with
justice act so that I could forget about the past
...forget you, and the pain you're death caused.
I remember everything perfectly.
When you first died, I was awfully sad, sadder then
I had ever been before.
Then I hated you, for leaving me, daddy, everyone.
I was sad again, in a matter of days
This pattern went on for a very long time.
I'd hate you.
Then love you.
Hate you.
Love you.
Hate you.
At first I thought I'd settle on hating you
I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't.
How can I hate you?
You cradled me in you're arms when I was a baby
Read me stories
Even made me a doll once, even though it would
have been easier to buy one.
It still brings a smile to my lips when I imagine
you laughing, cleaning, yelling at daddy for letting
me stay up too late when she went to see grandma.
I once you told you I was going to be a maid when I grew up
You laughed and asked me why
My reply? So that I could take care of you, the way you took
care of me, so that we could be together always.
To this day, I can still see you smiling, then taking
me in you're arms, saying that we'd be together always
We still are together aren't we? You never have left my
side, have you?"
She glance behind her, and saw her friends 20 or so meters away sitting around a fire, laughing, talking, eating, oblivious to the grave that was near where they were so happily enjoying the night sky. She stood up, and brushed the dirt off of her clothing.
Lina, whom just noticed her, yelled to her smiling, "Ameria! Where have you been all day? C'mon over here, you're missing out on the food and fun!"
Ameria giggled, then yelled back, "Be right there Miss Lina!"
Smiling, Ameria placed a single blue flower on the grave.
"I'll come and visit you again next year," she said, and began walking away from it.
Ameria reluctantly stopped, turned her head over to the grave slightly, and smiled.
"I love you...Mother."
