"Hey, Xellos, was that person who just walked by who I thought it was?"

"Graywords again, was it?"

Filia dropped a massive pile of folders on the desk opposite Xellos' own and slammed her hand down with a loud slap.

"I wouldn't trust a word that namagomi says if I were you Amelia," she snorted with an accusing glare, "I refuse to believe a word of it."

"That Zelgadiss-san is only here for...?"

"Precisely."

"But Filia," Xellos protested feminely, "Don't you think it's romantic if it were true?"

"As a matter of fact, no. And anyway, If you have nothing better to do than gossip and bullshit, I have a great deal of forms and papers that you can help me sort out."

Yes, this was the Tokyo police headquarters. Famed for their audacity, valorous staff, and the number of cases they solved each month. In fact, the recent typhoon rescue escapade that had hit every newpapers' front page was also accomplished by them. These people were said to be amazing, unbelievable -- that is, in more ways than one.

Why?

Xellos Metallium. No ordinary, beautiful, woman with a terrific figure. On her first day, almost every male officer had fallen head over heels for her -- until they discovered (as she was using the bathroom one day), that she had something between her legs. Nothing biG, but it was there alright. Apparently he was posing as a woman for some rape case at his former post, and had grown accustomed to the role and costume. Since the discovery, he wasn't allowed in either male or female bathrooms; which wasn't a bad thing - he got his own private lavatory by the trees.

Lina Inverse. Don't underestimate her frailty or under-developed figure. The small redhead could eat an elephant in if she were given one and not gain a single pound as a result. Perhaps all that food that she consumed was somehow transformed into energy. The explanation would make sense -- she was well known for her brutality and strength. Not even Gourry could win her in a game of arm wrestle. Why, the reason she was assigned the traffic patrol was because she could lift illlegally parked cars and throw them across the street. No one has beat her in strength. ...Or a motorbike race... that is, aside from one of her companions. Which brings us to --

Valterra. Top biker in the entire district, if not the country. (Sakura's Note: Valterra, NOT Valgarv. So he isn't stronger than Lina... ^^) Not even Lina could best him at that. He is quiet and seldom speaks, and bears a startling resemblence to Lina's "rival" Strike Man.. who will be introduced later... ^^

Filia Ul Copt. Devoted to her love for engines and cars, she is Lina's best friend, accomplice and room-mate. Unlike her companion however, she is modest and addicted to 'cute' and 'adorable' things. Her only hate and cause of irritation is Xellos -- whom she didn't hide her animous feelings from in the least. Why does she hate him? ... Only because they are after the same man. :)

Amelia Wil Tesla Sailune. Daughter of Philiolel Wil Tesla Sailune (the big, horrific Police Cheif). She is the most lively member of the police department, and had inherited her father's obsession with justice. But she is still hopeless with a gun, and is only skilled in the first aid... and the "research" (aka Gossip) department.

And last but not least, Gourry Gabriev. The current kachou (office head; fo jeung) of their department. He may not be the brightest of them all, but when it comes to action, he is probably the quickest. Like Lina, he loves food, especially that which is cooked by Sylphiel Nels Lada, a talented yet shy woman in the computer/hacking force.

"Well, Amelia," Xellos said tossing her hair and ignoring Filia, "just what have you found out about this Zelgadiss Graywords?"

Filia huffed impatiently, sat at her desk, and crossed her legs indignantly... but her ears were still pricked up.

A gleam appeared in Amelia's eyes, and she put on 'her' look of ingenious pride. "Well, I have done a little research with the computer files of the tokyo police corp, and found his profile!! And," she said with glee, "although he is slightly younger than Lina-san, their birthdays fall on exactly the same date!! Is that a coincidence or what?!"

"And?! And?!"

"Well, he's chimera as you can se -- "

"Tsch, half the population in Japan is chimera."

"But he was born a human!! He only turned chimera after some -- "

A knock on the door.

"What is everyone talking about?" Gourry asked. Zelgadiss Graywords coughed sexil-erm, nervously at his side.

"oh...erm.. hahahaahhaa," Xellos laughed innocently, "I'm going to make some tea."
