After the mayhem was over, and most of the mess cleaned up, Washu decided to take a look at the cuts on Lina and Gourry. One problem, they couldn't find Gourry anywhere. While everyone else was dispatched on a search for him, Ryoga who had been snatched to help her, Washu sat Lina down on a bench and unwrapped Lina's wounded arm.
"Hmmmm .... Does this hurt?" Washu gently prodded the skin alongside the cut on Lina's arm. Ryoga easily caught the punch Lina aimed at Washu's head in automatic reflex. "I'll take that as a yes. The skin along the cut is inflamed up to a good two inches from the cut. Are you allergic to anything?"
Lina, caught by surprise by the question, stammered a bit as she replied. "H-hai. But not much, just dust, duck feathers, and pigs. I hate sneezing."
Ryoga promptly decided to avoid Lina as much as possible in his other form. He had noticed her strength was close to equal to his, or his was before he had learned that technique from Cologne ... He did not want to know what her, mad from sneezing, could do to him. Should he warn Mousse? ..... Probably should, if he found Mousse before Lina met him, which wasn't likely. He watched Washu input some data into her transparent laptop computer, which was an unusual sight, especially when Lina, reaching out to touch it from behind, found her hand going right through it.
"Stop that." Washu pushed Lina's hand out of her computer, then finished typing in the data she had collected. The other two stared, absolutely bug-eyed as a small jar fell out of a black hole that just opened up in the air into Washu's palm. "There we go! Perfect!"
Washu held up the jar, easily popping off the lid to reveal a pale blue, clear gel. Scooping up a little with her fingers, Washu began applying it to the inflamed skin on Lina's arm. She smiled slightly at the faint sigh of relief from Lina.
"This should take care of the itching, and help the swelling go down. Most likely it was a reaction to the blade, or something you are not aware of being allergic to. A few tests should clear up that minor mystery."
Washu soon finished with the gel and was re-wrapping Lina's arm when Sylpheel re-appeared, dragging Gourry along behind her. "Oh! Where's everyone else?" She asked, as she made Gourry sit on a stool near Washu. Lina swung her arm experimentally, testing how it felt now. Gourry flinched and held perfectly still, watching Lina, a occurance that was only noticed by Ryoga, inforcing his deciscion to stay away from Lina in his other form. Gourry was quickly judged to be only minorly wounded and was quickly re-bandaged.
"That'll be fully healed in just a few days." Washu smirked, banishing her laptop to wherever it was that she kept it when she wasn't using it, causing more eyes to bug out this time. "Now, let's see if Sasami has anything ready for lunch."
Sasami indeed had something ready for lunch, and quite a lot of it too.
"Wow! This is much nicer than what Lina can cook!" Gourry promptly received a punch to the head from Lina for that remark.
Everyone else decided to not comment on that occurance. Soon everyone was sitting at the table and digging in, albeit most were polite about, unlike Gourry, Amelia, and Lina, who were shoveling food into their mouths as fast as they could. This shocked everyone who hadn't seen them eat before. Which was everyone there except Firia, Koppii Rezo, Zelgadis, and Martina.
Zel sighed softly before warning everyone else at the table. "If you want to eat something, you had better grab it before they do and be ready to defend it." He gestured towards the ravening trio at one end of the table as he snagged a bowl of ramen from Lina's reach. "They are quite capable of eating all the food on this table."
The rest of lunchtime was a minor war.
Kiyone leaned against one of the castle walls, exhausted from the war at lunchtime. How did I manage to get involved in this? Washu is not the most stable person in the world, admittably, the most intelligent, but definitely not perfectly sane.
She sighed, leaning her head back until it rested against the cold stone.
And who knows what Mihoshi is up to now? Probably asleep somewhere in Tenchi's house.
A faint smile crossed her face at the thought of her partner. She knew that sometimes people thought they were lovers, but that wasn't true. In many ways, that stupid 'true chemistry' Mihoshi always babbled about when talking about how she and Kiyone felt about each other was true, but not in the way that most people thought. Kiyone had never thought about Mihoshi that way, and in many ways, Mihoshi was the little sister she had never had. Kiyone snorted, Mihoshi sure acted like a little girl sometimes.
"Kiyone?"
Kiyone looked around to see who was calling her, a smile spreading across her face when she saw it was Sasami. "Yes, Sasami?"
"Can you help me clean up the kitchen? Gourry's already started doing the dishes." Sasami was tactfully not mentioning that Lina had bullied Gourry into doing it. However, as Kiyone did not know this, it didn't really matter after all. A single shared smile, and Sasami and Kiyone were returning to the dining hall and kitchen to clean.
