"Ok, ok, sit down everyone." Washu waited somewhat patiently while everyone found somewhere to sit, either on the floor or some broken piece of machinery. She pulled up a screen that showed a inside & out diagram of the brown blobby things that had so changed Lina and Zel's lives. "These are the Mass, an ultimate basic evolution. Every planet that has a fossil record has left indication that some form or another of the mass has existed in that planet's past. Ryoko, what gives the Mass it's power?"
Ryoko stood and grinned sheepishly, well used to Washu's 'teacher' mode. "Uhhh ... It just has it?"
"Wrong!" A rather large flowerpot landed on Ryoko's head. Washu pointed at Aeyka. "Miss Aeyka, can you say how the Mass gets it's power?"
Aeyka stood, primly wiped some dust from her skirts, and then spoke. "Because of natural chemical processes within it."
"Incorrect!" A large flowerpot landed on Aeyka's head. Tenchi raised his hand.
"Yes, Tenchi?"
"The Mass is give it's power throught the interaction of the matter and anti-matter it naturally has as part of it's physical makeup."
"Correct. This, was a Jurian battle cruiser, until it disturbed a Mass colony below the ocean's surface." Washu pulled up a picture of a large wreck sitting in ocean water up onto the screen. She then pointed out particularly devestating effects that the Mass had upon the ship.
"Now, the Mass function as a collective mind, directed by one Mass, which is called the 'brain'. However, it has and will accept the orders of a will outside of the Mass that is stronger than it. In the past two hundred years, this has happened only four times. The first time gave birth to Lady Malei of planet Rakun. The second gave little Ryo-Ohki her humanoid form when she assimilated with the mass." Washu paused to give Ryo-Ohki a proud smile and gentle head-rub. "The third and fourt happened almost at the same time three hours ago." She gestured towards Zel and Lina, who were curled up together on one of the few floating cushions left. Lina had curled up on Zel's lap, and was running one of her hands up and down his chest. Her other hand couldn't be seen, but Washu was willing to bet anything that what that hand was doing had something to do with what Zel was blushing so hard about.
Ryoko wolf-whistled at Zel and Lina.
Zel blushed even redder and swatted at Lina's arms when he noticed everyone's attention was on them. Lina just grinned at him and then looked towards Washu before speaking. "So what should we expect, Miss Washu?"
"Most likely you'll gain abilities like my Ryoko, but I really don't know how you two will change. Nor do I know, in the end, how it's going to affect those three." She gestured towards three of the green columns, which before had not been getting much attention.
"Who ... ?" Firia slowly stood, and stalked towards one of the columns Washu had indicated. An expression of sudden hate appeared on her face and a growl emerged from her throat. "Namagomi Mazoku ... " Her voice was a rage-filled hiss.
