Heero looked down at the drawing, putting down his pencil. Messy hair, big eyes, strange outfit... other than the outfit, she looked like Liena. The girl in our dreams... Lina Inverse. Damn it, why do we have the same dreams?!
He picked up his pencil again, barely listening to the teacher. Lina Inverse. Why does that name have sorrow behind it?
"God damn it!" Liena looked around her, red eyes feverish. "I wanted more time with him, and this is what happens?!" She made a throwing motion with one hand, and something in front of her exploded. Most of the scenery around her was already burnt beyond recognition. Then, she collapsed, tears sliding from her closed lids.
"I love him," she sobbed. "But he doesn't remember. And he fell in love with the namagomi Mazoku that killed both of us!"
"Things like this happen, daughter."
Liena glared at the golden haired, golden eyed woman beside her. "Oh, I think you knew this would happen, Mom," she said coolly. The redheaded girl stood up, wiping away tears with a gritty hand. "Mom... is it possible... he doesn't even remember me?"
"If he does not, then I am wondering how. I have been sending him, and the others, dreams about the past."
The girl's lids fell shut in exasperation. "Wonderful. Mom, would you stop meddling?"
"I would rather not. It has been thousands of years since anyone called upon my power. I have been so bored lately..."
"That's almost as bad as hearing that neechan was reborn," Liena said through gritted teeth.
"Oh, you did not hear? Cepheed asked that his Knight, our daughter, was to be reborn as well, since you were." It was very possible that she was mocking her, Liena thought.
"Neechan's reborn." It wasn't a question.
"Well, it is hard to ignore a request from both the Ryuzoku god and a Mazoku Dark Lord."
Liena put a hand to her forehead. "Cepheed and Xellas asked for it?! What, was the Greater Beast expecting to still be alive now?" A nasty thought occurred to her. "Luna doesn't remember about the bathing incident, does she?"
"Only time will tell, daughter."
