Dramatis Personae for Advent of Twilight
Good Guys
Gourry Gabriev
Referred to as the One that is written in the final act
of the Play of Twilight, his fate is still unclear and remains a
mystery. The former swordsman companion of Lina Inverse, her death
troubled him greatly. This was due to the fact that Gourry had devoted
his life solely to Lina, appearing noble and self-sacrificing in giving
to Lina's whims, mostly. The truth was, of course, that Gourry didn't
view himself as a person of worth. He needed Lina to feel needed
himself. Now caught in the web of the play, Gourry moves to try to find
himself amidst all of this.
Quar
A priest of Ceiphied, he is a man who has given himself almost
entirely to the faith that he supports. Unshakable in his belief, Quar
is seldom shocked or even surprised that much by other people's actions.
Always the levelheaded one of the whole bunch, he tries to ensure the
integrity of everything, though his preaching tends to come out somewhat
cold. He tries to keep a calm, cool, straightforward head, not swayed by
the dilemmas around him though inwardly he begins to be shaken by the
unworldly nature of the Play of Twilight.
Ashen the Cleaver
The stoutest and oldest member of the band, this
dwarf has learned one thing that helped him keep ahead in the world. If
it won't open, bash it down and if that doesn't work, get a bigger thing
to bash it down with. Pretty much a way to describe his life, Ashen
greatly troubles many of the other members with his unbridled adoration
of his axe, which he named Lucy. The way he strokes it a lot and speaks
with it is something that annoys the others. Not all to sure what is
happening around him, Ashen is determine to keep on going no matter
what.
Arthur Roelle
Having once roamed through the lands under the given
title as the Legendary Hero King, Arthur is one of the most accomplished
swordsman on the peninsula. He has a heavy background dealing with the
Mazoku, though he holds absolutely no loyalty to them at all. After
having vanished from the face of the peninsula for a few years, he
appeared out of the shadows to aid Gourry on his quest. He and Quar seem
to have met in the past, but that remains hazy. Arthur does speak about
his fiancée, who he describes as mad psychopath.
Elizabeth "Liz" Theodore Gabriev
This spunky little girl is Gourry's
younger sister and also an accomplished witch to boot. More interested
in either having a good time or doing something interesting, she tags
along with the group after they ran into her when she was pulling a
scam. Though she is not necessarily evil, she often doesn't consider
other peoples' feelings. Liz tends to act happy and nice, at least when
she isn't trying to deceive or rip someone off. Her premier weapon of
choice is a wand that seems to do as much good as it does bad.
Mysterious People
Zelgadiss Greyword
An enigmatic chimera with his own agenda throughout
all of this, he had been missing ever since the battle with Dread. He
had previously infiltrated AnCev's operation after assuming the guise of
one of the minions. The Banelich quickly discovered him and Zel had to
flee after he confronted Lymafae. Working for a mysterious third party
that is working against the Banelich and the Master, Zel is willing to
sacrifice everything for the ends. Also recently he has been seen with a
falcon perched on his shoulder, though few know what that means.
Kaiser
Referred by some as merely the "abomination", Kaiser comes from
a checkered heritage that has earned him the hatred of both the Ryuzoku
and Mazoku. Though few are sure of his full potential, his presence is
enough to make few want to try. Working for the Master to complete the
Play of Twilight, Kaiser has more in this than even the Master knows.
His most prize possession is the Staff of Gods that he has, its power is
one of the few things that allow him to continue his existence.
Bad Guys
Ghuralli
One of the servants of AnCev, he met a rather quick end when
he ran into Zelgadiss.
Ogre
Another of AnCev's servants, Ogre's calculating mind and his
insufferable rage makes him a deadly foe to deal with.
Ynreut
A minion of the late Ghuralli, he is venturing to the city of
Grayfalcon to accomplish his late master's plan. Few have ever seen his
true form and his mastery of magic makes him someone that should not be
trifled with.
AnCev
The Banelich that has so far been running most of the show, he
greatly despises the Master and would be more than happy to eliminate
the upstart. Sporting great power beyond those of a normal lich, he
managed to easily seized control of the Kalmaart region. He is deeply
troubled by the supposed ability of the Play of Twilight and its
capabilities to map out fate. Currently he is sending his minions out to
retrieve the two items he'll need to accomplish the final act of
Twilight. Only then will he finally confront the Master on what is truly
going on.
Badass
Master
The real manipulator behind everything, he has been sitting in
the shadows watching and controlling everything in order to achieve what
he sees as being foreordained. Master has dedicated himself completely
to finishing the Play of Twilight and ensures that everything is
completed. Only then will the final truth about everything be revealed.
Lymafae
A puppet for AnCev and used as his own personal assassin, this
mysterious girl is immensely powerful with the essence of shadows that
she draws upon. Wielding the Black Dagger of Destruction, she is capable
of harming even a Mazoku with its edges. Though Kaiser has mention she
is fairly accomplished in magic, she has never been seen using any. Her
name comes from ancient language of the dhaerow.
