"Mrs. Lina!" Amelia's eyes widened considerably, as she fell from her chair.
Gourry just looked on shocked beyond belief, dropping his chicken sandwich he rubbed his eyes. "No...way...it...can't...be!"
Zelgadis choked on his coffee his eyes wide.
"Lina-chan you look exceptionally pretty, what's the occasion?" Xellos watched as Lina skipped lightly passed them and gave a victory sign before heading out the door.
"Why was Mrs. Lina dressed so nice?! I know she probably has a secret meeting with some cute guy!" Amelia sighed dreamily.
Gourry merely continued to stare at the entrance door to the INN. "Who knew she looked so cute in a dress"
Zel had to admit that Lina had looked pretty in the bright yellow colored sundress. He wondered where she was going and if she was really going to see some guy...she should know better! He was probably some evil wizard...some bum trying to cash her in...he gave himself a mental slap. It was no business of his where she went in her spare time. Standing up he excused himself from the others and walked outside, pulling on his hood and facemask he turned his gaze up to the sky. It was a beautiful day outside and he didn't feel like wasting it. Walking along down the road he noticed a crowd of children gathered around a large fountain. As he moved closer to the cluster he recognized a shock of red hair that was visible sitting on the edge of the fountain. Now what was Lina doing surrounded by all these children...?
"And then after my battle with the evil bandits..." Lina raised her hand in the familiar victory sign.
Zel listened as she weaved tale after tale about her many adventures to the children. He smiled softly he never realized that behind the carefree happy attitude of hers that Lina actually had a soft spot for children. She actually looked good with the children surrounding her...wait ...oh nevermind! This just cinches it I've had a small crush on Lina since the battle with Shabernigdo. Seeing her like this...
"Hey Zel! Watch doing here?!" Zel jumped in surprise as the voice of his thoughts yelled into his ear...quite loudly. Turning he glared at the grinning sorceress, "So where did all the kids go?" He hadn't even noticed them get up and leave.
"Oh them, they had to go home and eat lunch, but you still haven't answered my question. What are you doing here?" Lina asked again as she waved the last of the children off.
"I was out looking for..." he paused at her questioning look "I was going to go look for some new traveling clothes!" Laughing nervously he scratched the back of his head. He was so dumb he had almost said that he had been looking for...no he had been going for a walk! Yeah right...Shut up!
"Really your going shopping?" Lina looked skeptical then grinned "Really! I'll go with you! Then maybe we can get rid of that damned hood. Never did like it"
Zel groaned as she tugged him along by the hand, he just had to make that excuse didn't he. I should have said sight seeing! Anything but clothes shopping...wait what's wrong with my clothes. "Ano Lina ...what's wrong with the clothes I have?"
Lina rolled her eyes; she would humor Zel on this because she didn't want to insult him. "Zel, have you ever looked at your outfit! Ok it looks good on you and everything, but don't you feel like changing up a little?" Ignoring his growling NO she continued on into the tailors shop. Ok so maybe that wasn't that subtle...
Zel tried his best to hold his best to look inconspicuous but it wasn't working and he couldn't pull his hand away from Lina because she was holding on too tight. That and he really didn't feel like letting go...
Lina peered across the table at the many different cloths, "Hey Zel look what I found!" Lina darted off into the crowd leaving Zel alone only to appear five minutes later with a bundle of clothes. "Try these on!" Lina shoved him towards the dressing rooms in the back of the store.
Zel could only stare as the curtain was closed behind him. How does she do that...I could have sworn I said no...Shrugging he realized it would be useless to argue with Lina, she would just fireball him back in here anyway. Picking up the articles of clothes that he had been given he studied them closely, oh man she must be kidding! The shirt she had chosen was white with long puffy type sleeves that laced up in the front...he sweatdropped he was going to look like a pirate when she was done. Slipping into the shirt he realized he was dumb enough to wear just to see her smiling at him. He stopped dead in his tracks when he got to the pants however, "Lina I draw the line! There is no way I'm wearing this!"
Lina pulled the curtain open and began to pout her eyes going large and watery. "Are you saying you don't li-i-ke what I picked out for you?"
Zel tried to avert his eyes but he couldn't seem to do it as he glanced down at her trembling lips and watery eyes. "But Lina..."
"Oh thank you Zel! You're the best!" she gave him a cutesy smile filled with sugary sweetness then closed the curtain.
"Now Lina I mean it no...Lina!" how in the world does she do that! Zel held up the pants, and groaned in misery. The pants in question were black and by the looks of it, they were going to be tight. He sweatdroped as his hands began to work to get his ivory pants off, damn it all! I don't wanna wear them! Then why are you putting them on...Oh shut up! After tugging on the black pants a blush worked its way across his cheeks, these fit way to snugly specially with the shirt tucked in. I'll just change real quick...
The curtain was suddenly wrenched open and Zel blushed even more if that was possible. Steeling his resolve he turned toward Lina, "I'm sorry Lina but...what are you wearing?!" Lina struck a pose as she twirled in her newest outfit.
"So you like I figure we could match as we check out the town!" her yellow type sundress had been replaced buy an ivory one, it was flattering to her slim figure and made her bright red hair stand out. "Ne Zel you don't mind hanging out with me like this do you?"
Damn that hopeful smile was on her face...he was way too gullible. Lina grabbed his hand again and cheered as she pulled them over to the owner of the store to pay for the new clothes. Zel gently tightened his hold on her hand and smiled, heck he would do anything she asked at the moment...and maybe...just maybe...they could be more then just friends.
