Lina filled out the last of the forms on the food. The feast had been a complete success in her opinion, and now she had to pay for it by filling out all these reviews. Everything from dragon meat to mazoku's wine aged over 40 years. Speaking of Mazoku, she peered to Xellos who was torturing Zelgadis, as usual. It was so strange, L-sama, sacred? purity... Xellos - yet something seemed to bother L-sama the whole time. Maybe it was the way it had come about, maybe it was something else... All she knew was that the power of the gigaslave seemed insignificant in power to what she felt for a few moments, then she was in Geoas. "It's not over. Believe me." L-sama had said.
"Who are you?" silence.
"Answer me!" silence. "...please..." and then she felt it -
"I am everything. I am Mazoku, I am Ryuzoku, I am human, and I am you." and it was revealed
"You are known as Kuza are you not?"
"I am,"and silence echoed. "The time is coming..."
Zelgadis relaxed into the plush 2nd place chair, made of the same material as the winners, but not nearly as decorated - it somehow fit him. His recipe for tea had won him this, and his prize was one request for any of Geoas's priest to be fulfilled. "Zelgadis, I have been asked to retrieve your request." the messanger bowed curtly as the cerimony closed.
He sighed and leaned forward, "My request is simple - break the curse of the chimera upon me." the messanger suddenly dissappeared as the request was heard - obviously a magical messanger sent by the high priest, whom were too important to allow material beings to see for fear of assassination. Zelgadis felt the rush of high speed and then found him in a large room, possibly part of a tower as the walls were circular. 7 old men stood from positions around the room, one dressed in white and one dressed in green walked towards him
"I am a representitive of white magic," said the one in white, "and I am a representitive of spirit magic," continued the green one.
Kuza looked around the festival - Geoas was known even far away in his land for it's yearly contest. How was he supposed to find this Lina character in this. "You will find them easily. One is a female who you will percieve as human - her name is Lina Inverse. The other is under the guise of a Mazoku - he will go by the name Xellos." the master had spoken. "You should find them easily - they both eminate incredibly powerful auras and should be together." well, it was time to find them. Nothing else to do in this land.
"Our power is not sufficent to completely remove the curse. However, we can give you a temporary human form. We can grant you the ability to be in your human form for temporary periods. Quite simply you may become human for short periods of time - about an hour maximum, every day. You will only be able to do this once a day and the transformation back will be as painful as the original transformation if you do not undo the spell before the time expires. Do you find this satasfactory?"
Zelgadis needed no time to think "I do." and thus they gave him the power of transformation. The Kimeri-Switch. Zelgadis felt his own soft skin for the first time in years. It was exquisite.
Lina leaned back into Xellos and closed her eyes. It had been a long day. Xellos opened his eyes and smiled. Lina's body slowly went limp in his arms and she began to breath ever so softly. He closed his eyes once again and stood, taking Lina with him and not even the air moved as he shifted positions.
"Xellos I presume," Xellos opened his eyes once again, what he saw was a blond, rough, ryuzoku in full armor in human form.
"Perhaps." the dragon looked him over.
"I am Kuza, Final ryuzoku of the Zakai clan. I have been requested by the Lord of Nightmares to find you." Xellos laughed so softly only he could hear it.
"L-sama certainly has taken an interest in Lina and I recently," Xellos was now confident this wasn't about a fight - the ryuzoku had given up his best chance at victory. "now what can I do for you?" and suddenly the three disappeared.
"Amelia... Have you seen Lina?" Amelia paused talking with her father and turned to answer Zelgadis's question "No I hav...ZELGADIS!" she looked in amazment at a completely human version of her little Zel. He was twice as cute - if that was at all possible. "Y-Y-You're..."
he completed the sentence "human - well - I had the Golem and Mazoku sides of my Chimera form temporarily repressed," and as he said this he rechecked his belt for that ever-important belt that held the essence of the spell - if he lost that not only would he not be able to become human again, he'd probably go through the torment of the original transformation again - that is if he lost it in human form.
"Long ago I was alone. I was a mere bacteria upon the sea of chaos. Then, using the power of the sea which fed me, I created the demon race - the demons were placed upon a world which I also created - and in time they all destroyed each other. However, by observing them I became sentient - and I created the angels - who salvaged the world but then, again destroyed themselves. Then I created two races at once - the Mazoku and the Ryuzoku. With competetion the two races began helping their own to be more succesful than the others. The balance worked and the two races survived. Each generation taught me more so I tried my hand again - I created humanity. Now the Mazoku and Ryuzoku are nearly dead from fighting, and humanity is reducing itself to the self squables of the Demons and Angels. So - I have compiled everything I know into a final new project which to date is not completed. Every race has had two represtentitives. The representitives have dissappeared with their races - both Mazoku representitives have died and one of the Ryuzoku. I have found a new race. And now it is time for that race to prove it's worth to me." Kuza's aura suddenly rivited in pain, Xellos tried - but felt nothing from it - none of his normal mazoku feeding. "Lina Inverse, Xellos - you are my new race. You are not named - you are a combination of all my efforts - you are unique and you are special. Only one representitive has not died from all my other efforts - Kuza - you are their guide until my new children have their own wings. You are their teacher." Kuza felt the pain subside and his aura reformed - stronger, as when he was an adolescent - but with the wisdom of his age. Kuza nodded. Destiny only has one ending. Destiny only has one race. And Destiny has dictated that that race - may not have yet surfaced.
