Xellos smiled as he slumped against Lina.
"Gods!" Lina cried as she sank to the floor. Lina looked up and saw the shocked look on Shabrinigdo's face.
"He betrayed me!?" Shabrinigdo snarled unbelieving.
"Vice Freeze!" Lina cried and Shabrinigdo was temporarily frozen. "Xellos why?" The violet haired Mazuko smiled and blood trickled down his chin.
"Mother, please... take me to my mother." Xellos pointed at Zellas. Lina nodded. "Ray Wing." Lina murmured and she took Xellos to where Zellas sat slowly rocking back and forth. Xellos reached out his hand and touched Zellas' face. "Mother, come back to me." Zellas cried out as Xellos let opened his mind to her and shared all his memories.
"Xell...Xellos." Zellas murmured and life seemed to flash back into Zellas' eyes. She looked down at Xellos and noticed Lina trying too heal him. "Save your magick little one, he is too far gone." Zellas whispered as she hugged her 'son'. "May L-sama guild you to the next world Xellos-chan." Xellos looked at Lina and grasped her hand which was covered with his blood.
"Lina-chan, I..." Xellos handed Lina his amulets.
"The Daemon's Blood Talismans. A gift from Lei and I." Zellas whispered as she stared at the daemon wearing the form of her former lover.
"Lina-chan, touch my forehead." Lina did as Xellos commanded and he drew her into his mind.
Lina looked around she was in a dead and barren land
yet in the center was a small patch of greenery which
was rapidly growing.
"This is you to me Lina-chan." Lina whirled around and
she saw Xellos standing before her. Xellos un-scared
and devilishly handsome. "Thank you Lina-chan, you
saved me from myself, I have one last gift to bestow
upon you chosen of the Lord of Nightmares." Xellos
held out his arms and Lina willingly accepted his
embrace. When their lips met, knowledge filled Lina's
mind. The knowledge on how to cast the Giga Slave and
something, something Lina wasn't sure she wanted to
see. She saw Xellos' heart, and the burning pure spark
of his love...for her. The one uncorrupted thing in
Xellos' heart, herself. Lina felt tears run down her
cheeks as she broke away.
"Xellos, I can't." Lina whispered and the violet
haired Mazuko smiled sadly.
"I know, you love my son, I read into your heart
Lina-chan. And I just pray that a little but of your
goodness and light rubbed off on me." Xellos frowned.
"I have to send you back now, otherwise you will be
pulled with me to the Otherside. Goodbye Lina-chan and
please forgive me, for all I have done." Xellos faded
and Lina awoke
Lina opened her eyes and stared down at Xellos, she could see that he was dying, the light fading from his beautiful gem-like eyes. Xellos suddenly smiled one last time, not a cruel smile, or a sad one. Simply a smile of joy and happiness. And then his chest rose once and rose no more. Zellas started down at her son, her creation and softly sobbed. Lina closed Xellos' eyes and hugged the Mazuko lord.
"He was happy Zellas-san." Lina whispered.
"I know." Zellas buried her head in Lina's shoulder as all the memories came flooding back. "I was such a coward, hiding within myself. I might have saved him, I could have..."
"Aw how touching." Lina and Zellas looked up and saw Shabrinigdo standing there with a cruel mocking grin on his face. "You too Zellas-chan? You've betrayed me like your bastard son?" Shabrinigdo held out Zelgadis. "Or would this be the bastard son?"
"Zel!" Lina cried as she watched Shabrinigdo hold Zelgadis by the throat.
"Now now my dear, you know how fragile these mortals are." Shabrinigdo tightened his grip on Zelgadis' throat and the young man choked. Lina trembled with anger but surprisingly, Zellas was the first to move.
"How ironic that I should face you with the weapon that killed my son ne Lei?" Zellas asked as she held out her own Ruby-Eye Blade.
"Kuso!" Shabrinigdo cursed as he tossed Zel aside and parried the enraged Mazuko's blow and Lina rushed to Zel's side.
"Zel." Lina whispered and the indigo haired man opened his eyes and smiled at Lina.
"I'll be alright Lina." Zel whispered as he sat up and stared at Zellas and Shabrinigdo fighting. Lina gasped when she saw Shabrinigdo's foot lash out and trip Zellas.
"Zellas no!" Lina cried as Shabrinigdo's blade felt, but Zellas wasn't there. Lina blinked.
"Hey Shabby!" Lina looked up and saw a man with long red hair float about twenty feet above her head. But more importantly he had Zellas cradled in his arms. "You can consider this my resignation!" Garv shouted. Shabrinigdo growled.
"How many people must die before you realize that you can never betray men an live!" Garv laughed and phazed out. He also gave Lina the perfect opportunity to kill Shabrinigdo. Lina clasped the talismans around her wrist and neck. Somehow it seemed right. Lina picked up the Hikari no Ken.
"No... this is wrong." Lina's mind screamed. "Relax Lina, just relax and let everything flow." Lina closed her eyes. Suddenly an idea appeared to Lina and her eyes flashed crimson, she knew what to do! She would create her own spell. Lina relaxed and tossed the Hikari no Ken.
"I won't need it Zel." Lina whispered an she tried to remember the face of the woman who had appeared before her so long ago. L-sama, the Lord of Nightmares. "Please I trust you L-sama." Lina whispered and the words seemed to flow from her...

Lina screamed the last words and power surged from her. Lina fused her concern for her friends, her anger at Xellos' death and her love for Zel with the Laguna Blade. The black blade slammed into Shabrinigdo and the Ruby Eyed Lord screamed a inhuman scream.
"How is this possible!?" Shabrinigdo cried.
"Simple you underestimated us humans." Lina shouted and the Dark Lord Shabrinigdo seemed to shrink.
"Lei!" Zellas screamed as she phazed next to her lover's side. Lei looked up at Zellas and his eyes flashed red and he reached up and began to choke her. Zellas gasped for air and suddenly, Garv's sword descended and sliced Lei's arm cleanly from his body.
"Zellas are you okay?" Garv asked concerned as he helped the blond Mazuko to her feet. Valgarv landed neatly.
"Garv-sama, all of Shabrinigdo's guards have been secured." Val grinned. "The slaves have been freed. Including the Rep Priest and the warrior Queen."
"Rezo he and Amelia are alive?" Lina asked ecstatic as she ran over to where Zel was. "Did you hear that Zel, Rezo and Amelia are alive." Zel smiled up at Lina.
"That's great Lina." Zel grinned. "Um is Shabrinigdo dead this time?"
"Yes Zel, relax okay?" Lina whispered she hugged Zel.
"I thought you were dead, I was certain Shabrinigdo had killed you." Lina felt Zel wrap his arms gently around her.
"Shhh, it's okay Lina... it's all over." Zel whispered into Lina's bright read hair. "It's all over."
