Zel absently stroked the girl's soft red hair, he felt the need to tell this girl his story...he had no reason why just that it felt right.
"I lived in a small town, just outside of Atlas City (I dunno I needed a name ^_~). My father owned a fair amount of land, which he used to sell and make weapons, and raised sheep to make clothe. Mother normally dealt with the cloth and clothes. My father wanted the best in life, he only wanted his family to be happy." Zel smiled slightly as the girl shifted in his arms to get more comfortable as she listened to his story.
"My father at night would entertain me and my little brothers with story's of our grandfather" he chuckled bitterly "Me and my brother thought it was all rubbish of how our grandfather was some famous magical priest that could cast spells. It was also said that he had the power of illusion to, but more importantly it was said that he was immortal"
"But there is no such...oh nevermind" Lina realized that it would be kinda ridiculous to say it didn't exist when here she was holding a convo with a chimera.
"Like I was saying when me and my brother were old enough we took over dads business. Shortly after that there were reports of murders being committed in Atlas City. I had thought nothing of it until one night at dinner mother began talking about our grandfather. She would say things like, he is here...or he has come for revenge..." Zel smiled grimly at the memory. "This floor must be uncomfortable let's move over to the sofa shall we?" Zel helped her to stand then led her over to a Victorian styled couch.
"Where was I oh yes...Mom would swear up and down each night that she saw him outside of our house waiting" he sighed quietly as he rested his head against the back of the chair. "We thought she was just imagining things, so we would humor her and tell her to get some sleep."
"One night I was walking her to her room. She stopped me and told me she wasn't crazy...I had never seen my mom so serious before. She then told me of how our grandmother Eris had sealed Rezo away in a magical cave that would keep him entrapped for eternity" Zel jumped at the soft hand on his arm, it was only the girl looking at him with sympathy.
"That was the last night I saw my mother alive...she disappeared soon after I took her to her room. The servants later found her with her throat slit in the gardens near her favorite rose bush..." he sucked in a breath, talking about his mother was always painful.
"I knew then with certainty that what she had been telling us was true all along. Dad wouldn't listen he would just in his chair and gaze into the fire. He was heartbroken when mom died, he had never even contemplated life without her they were both young. My brother Tai was the only one who would listen...One night we went out on our own, we walked the gardens where my had been killed. It was a mistake we should never have gone out there..."
"What happened..." Lina was hesitant to speak, she didn't want to break the spell that Zel had managed to weave around her.
"We found Rezo all right but he was using an illusion, all we saw was a small child. My brother kind soul that he was leaned down to ask f he needed help..." Zel stopped for a few seconds as he stared at his hands. "I didn't even see it coming the boy he ...he bit into Tai's neck...I ran and tried to grab him off but he tossed me to the side as if I weighed no more then a feather. I was knocked unconscious...I can still remember the shock and the fear in my brothers eyes as the life was sucked from his young body, he was only 19 years old." He smiled reassuringly at Lina's gasp of horror.
"When I awoke I felt...there were no words to describe my body felt sluggish and I felt so weak. I didn't know what was going on and my mind felt muddled, it wasn't till sometime later that I remembered my brother. By then I was beginning to panic, I had no clue what had happened to him although I felt that he was no longer alive."
"Later I'm guessing it was about night time, Rezo appeared in his normal form. He was smiling at me cheerfully as though he hadn't a care in the world. He then dragged me from the room I was in...I couldn't tell you much about it because my senses were that muddled. Later he brought me to a large room and left me there...the only thing I could see was a large mirror lying against a wall. I stumbled over to it...what I saw is what you see now. I was horrified I smashed the mirror and just sat there crying...I don't know how long." He suddenly growled out an oath "Look what that bastard did to me! I'm a hideous freak conjured up for his amusement!"
Lina felt she should do something anything to stop the hurt she saw on his face. "I don't think your hideous at all..." leaning up she placed a soft kiss on his lips.
